Best mini ever!

"Loving it for sure. Great value."

Cute little workhorse

"This netbook is everything I wanted -- has Windows XP, large hard drive for its size, enough memory for word processing, web surfing, an email. I haven't used Skype yet ... but I did get an external CD/DVD drive to install software from CDs. The keyboard is great -- much larger and better than other netbooks I've tried. I have a Toshiba laptop, too, and have really loved it, so now I have two. The 4 stars for overall rating are from the shiny black surface. As others have written, this machine is a fingerprint magnet. Otherwise, it's perfect."

Great for the price

"This laptop will make a great travel companion. From the ease of use to the web cam, it fit's the bill for an easy surfing laptop with plenty of storage for vacation pics that doesn't take up much room in your luggage."

Great little netbook

"Have had this netbook for about 3 weeks and absolutely love it. It performs exactly as expected and has the incredible battery life promised. Everything worked out of the box. Used Skype within 10 minutes of receiving. No surprises. That's great news for any electronic gadget."

The right size at the right price

"My primary TV is a 35" or 36" Toshiba that I purchased in 1996 that is still going strong. So when my less than two year old Dell netbook failed I went looking for a new netbook and found this Toshiba. At 10" it's the right size and far more comfortable to use than a 9" model while still being small enough to pack. The closer to full size keyboard is what makes this unit more useful for serious typing and the really long battery life is a bonus. I'm very pleased with my purchase."

"Overall a great machine for the price. Only changes I see are 1. High gloss case is pretty - but scratches easily 2. More ram would have been nice. A solid and reliable unit for the price point."

"superior battery, excellent performance..superior value for the price. best keyboard, good software bundle, feature rich.. extremely pleased with my purchase... cons- prfer larger left.right click buttoms on touch pad, easy touch pad sensitivity adjustment, matter versus shiny case so fimgerprints less visible.."

Good choice for XP users

"If I had written this review about the out-of-the-box product it would not have been as positive. The "hard to get used to" touchpad combined with the netbook's need to update itself with 50+ Microsoft updates and the plethora of pre-installed gadgets slowed the performance of the machine to a crawl for the first 24 - 48 hours of use. But after adding a travel mouse, getting to know the gadgets and allowing the required updates to install, the NB305-310 gradually won me over, mostly. I did need to download codecs to play DVD's via the portable DVD burner I installed, and I uninstalled several add-ons like Works, MS Office Trial, Wild Tangent and Norton. I got fast on the keyboard after a few days (its not 100%...more like 90% regular size), and got used to the somewhat flimsy feel which is a trade-off for its portability. I found enough usefulness in the various Toshiba utilities to keep them around for a while, especially the power management interface which helps optimize battery life based on various performance variables. When my wireless access froze, messing with the Toshiba ConfigFree utility yielded the solution. The netbook travels with the utmost of convenience and the XP operating system is robust and fully supported through 2014. I actually have used it for multi-media (video editing and re-coding via Nero) and as long as I keep the number of programs running to no more than two or three performance is adequate. This netbook was an acquired taste, but now that I have it configured the way I want and have grown accustomeed to it, I am happy with the purchase."
