"I purchased this laptop primarily for class use as a graduate student at Indiana University. It's uses were to take notes, write papers, read PDF files, and quick web browsing. I can say this netbook does these well, however the issue I have is that it takes FOREVER to load up the programs like Acrobat, Word, Chrome. The Intel Atom processor is the reason for this slowness. I had iTunes freeze up on me already, and I've had this computer for less than a month. And don't even bother trying to mutli-task, it doesn't seem the netbook can handle more than two programs running at the same time. If you are looking for something as I was (class use), these are an OK option, but there are other options as well, i.e. iPad. It took me a while to get adjusted to viewing such a small screen at first as well. One other thing, which is possibly just a personal pet peeve of mine, as the position of the "HOME", and "END" keys. I still, to this date, keep pressing "PGDN" beneath the "ENTER" key because that is were I am used to the "END" key being, and it is frustrating when trying to read PDFs and writing papers. If I were to go back and do this all over, I would probably have stuck to spending the extra $300 on purchasing a regular Toshiba Satellite laptop."

"I am really enjoying the freedom a laptop gives me. The netbook is perfect for me and my needs. Still learning everything I can to make it easier to accomplish more tasks. Would definitely recommend for a newbie to laptops."

"The battery life is great. Not what is claimed, but better than a laptop. The portablility is great being so light and small.. BUT you cannot watch any video, listen to music or skype as the speakers are PATHETIC! If you are in a room with zero noise then you can hear some vids/music..otherwise if there is any noise at all..forget it. They are basically useless. I can't do half of the things that I purchased this for due to that. (skype, music etc) I will never purchase another laptop/netbook without listening to the sound in future. It's very poor!"

"I got this netbook and loved the keybored, the speed and the desighn. I was very disapointed that the the volume was unecceptebly low beyoned my thoughts.Otherwise whoever dosent care about the voulume (speaker) this would be a 5 star netbook."

"I am a Psychotherapist who must travel to many different schools to meet with clients. The long battery life and small size allows me to comfortably take the netbook along and complete my notes and various forms after each session. I personalized my netbook by deleting unnecessary programs such as gaming programs and find that it runs as fast as my Toshiba Satellite."

"Great performance for the price. It serves as my main computer and preforms extremely well considering the price I paid. With some neat Toshiba add ons/External storage and optical drive. I have a comlpete system with printer and a total of 1.7 tbs of storage I plan on using it a long time"

"The NB305-N440 is significantly more robust than most netbooks I've seen. It is an obviously better made machine. I'd highly recommend removing most of the programs running in the background as well as changing the Windows Theme to Classic. Those changes give the machine some zip. My biggest complaint, and the machine's one major flaw, is the screen doesn't tilt back far enough for comfortable viewing in many circumstances."

"The mini notebook NB305-N440RD is a good purchase for the money. It's one negative feature is it is VERY weak on sound quality. The speaker is one step above useless. Best to purchase a set of headphones."

"If you are looking for a PC which fits on the airline seatback tray while the gorilla in front of you is leaning back like he's home in his recliner, this is a good choice. Battery life is excellent and fits easily in a small bag."
