"This laptop appeared to be the dream of dreams in terms of a traveling power user. Light weight, small, powerful-fast, but... it has malfunctioned from the first week when the system would not boot. I worked with it for a month all the time carrying a second computer with me to complete my work on. Okay, sometimes things happen. So it was "repaired" and has quit working 2 more times. When I say "quit working" I mean, it would not even power up. When working it would constantly go into chkdsk mode upon powering up, lock up during use, or simply power up but not run without loading a system CD. I see the 5 stars for other purchasers so I can only presume this one is a lemon, but for this system lemons are unacceptable. If you buy, carry your previous computer with you for at least a month particularly on important overseas trips (where you least want to do so). Oh, and if you run into the same problem, keep in mind that it is treated as a "lemon" when repair has tried to fix it at least 3x. At this point I'm 12 months into owning it, and have been able to use it about 6 of those 12 months. Keep your previous computer handy! Caveat emptor."

"This S4213 runs my entire office. With the Slim Port Replicator 3, I run a 22" moniter, full size keeboard, mouse, 3 printers and a scanner. The SSD is quiet and fast. My wordprocessor, linguistic research software, Outlook, and Itunes are always loaded and running. I chose the S4213 so I don't have to load or copy all the files I need when traveling and speaking. Future usage include a multimedia program to enhance the lectures."

"This is an expensive device, but excellent value for what it is. There is really no machine on the market that compares. 2.5 pounds, with a DVD burner, and a 512 gig solid state drive. Obviously you pay for the latter, but it is great to have so much storage in an SSD, and the performance is excellent. This is definitely a question of getting what you pay for!"

"There is nothing new or technologically advanced (such a a Mac, for instance) but it does the job. Windows is still the gating factor. This is a nice laptop, but it isn't any better than my 3-year old Thinkpad T60. It is priced way too high; save your money and get the $1000 cheaper model as it will do everything this one does."
