"Although very lightweight the touchpad is clunky and not smooth to use, the screen quality is not as crisp as my three year old Toshiba satelitte and the speakers are tin sounding. This was not an inexpensive computer and since I love my old Toshiba, I thought I would be getting the same or better quality."

"This laptop is super light and idea for when with traveling. It is very fast and easy to use. The thing I like best is the lightness and ease that I get with having a full keyboard and screen instead of with a netbook (which I compared and the netbook was both heavier and wider)"

"Pros: lightweight, CD-ROM, user-upgradable hard drive (SSD) and RAM and battery, HDMI and eSATA output, good webcam, good wifi antenna Cons: no backlit keyboard or keyboard illumination via led, no additional mouse pointer--must use trackpad or external mouse, significant heat buildup, fan noise, loud trackpad buttons The screen resolution could be higher, but it is sufficient"

"I just love my new protege. It is light, stylish, and the price is very reasonable for a very portable laptop. And it comes with cd drive, that rocks too. My friend was jealous when he saw my new protege. The only cons is, I wish the have a prebuilt one with matt screen. Then it will a six star rating!! And I also hope toshiba has a logo like apple or Fujitsu ...."

"I'm still adapting to the slightly scrunched in keyboard, but the battery life is nothing short of amazing. Processing speed is great. Really enjoying this new laptop. Weight is fabulous."

"Needed a smaller laptop for traveling but still wanted it to be full featured. This machine meets my needs completely for that purpose. Don't think it will ever become my primary machine due to its small size but I didn't expect it to. Meanwhile my spouse is enjoying it too."
