"Make sure before buying that R930 supports SATA3. For the R835 model, its chipset supports SATA3, but what some reason Toshiba cap it to just SATA2. So, the bandwidth down from 6 Gb/s to just 3Gb/s. The limited bandwidth will be a handicap when you upgrade from HDD to SSD."

"Absoluty the finest Portege I have owned! And I have owned them since the 7200CT days probably 10 or more Porteges. The only bottleneck of performance on this unit is the hard drive. The 750Gb is a nice size drive but at 5400 RPM it is a mediocre performer. I upgraded to a Seagate Momentus XT 500GB Hybrid and now it absolulty screams. I am fully booted at 40 seconds which includes entering my password. I get 6 hours plus on the battery with it set to HIGH PERFORMANCE! The 13.3 inch screen is perfect for a combination of portability AND video & gaming use. I must say KUDOS to Toshiba for a nice, nice unit! Using PC WIzard global benchmark I had scores over 7000 with this set-up. I highly recommend it to anyone."
