"This elegant looking, feather light, ultra quiet, responsive machine is the best ever laptop for me. I am so attached to it I take it nearly everywhere in a simple sleeve. I especially appreciate the rapid start up and quiet keyboard, which make this as accessible as an ipad, but far more versatile. The smaller disc size is easily managed by a few 32 bit SD cards for directories that one rarely uses, but does want access to. Preferring a mouse, i have learned not to drop my thumb on the pad, else crazy things happen. Every computer has such little things one needs to learn to manage, depending on uses. There are very few problems like that with this one.."

"My 6 yo Dell laptop gave out and I was tired of carrying around 7.5lbs of machine, the Toshiba is a dream at 1/3 the weight and it works great. Good speed for office work and video streaming, nice tactile, backlit keyboard, strong wireless performance, solid state drive and fast startup/shutdown. A good machine for travel or using around the house, I would recommend this machine"

"4 stars because even though this is one of the better laptops I have used, it is hampered by a screen that has a limited viewing angle. The flexibility of the screen doesn't bother me. It is, however, bright enough to work on it in the bright sunlight in the the car. Battery life is good. Through three charges: 4.5, 5, and 5.5 hours life each. The power management software is okay but I am impressed by the consistency with which it shuts down and wakes up, even from hibernate. Wireless has good range. I like that it has a wired network port and a legacy monitor support to hook to my projector at work. There are a lot of pre-loaded Toshiba apps that are somewhat functional and I wouldn't consider them bad-ware. There wasn't any other bad-ware besides a trial version of Office and a trial anti-virus software. Overall I am really happy with it for a work-anywhere laptop that has plenty of juice."

"I have been using it for 2 months. It is small, thin, doesn't weigh anything, fast, has a good battery. I absolutely recommend it to anybody who needs the smallest yet fully functional Windows computer. Samsung has an even lighter ultrabook but it's way more expensive and the difference in weight is only 60 grams. Mac Air would be another lighter alternative but just as Samsung it is much more expensive and only 40 grams lighter, and it's a Mac if it's an issue for you."

"LIghtweight, quick start up, good keyboard, fast performance. The solid state hard drive has worked perfectly. Having a separate disc player has not been an inconvenience. The separate disc player and the hard drive have really cut down on the weight. This is as easy to carry as theToshiba notebook, and it is faster with a bigger screen and keyboard."

"I have a two year old netbook which I use for business travel but it just didn't cut it--very slow atom processor, small screen, jerky cursor. A tablet can't run the business apps and is hard to type on. This is the perfect fit--smaller than a full size laptop yet large enough screen to see documents and spreadsheet and very light and fast. Set up was a breeze. Five minutes out of the box and everything was going, although there was some confusion about registration. It kept asking me to register, then when I tried it said it was already registered (bought form Toshiba Direct), but the pop-up wouldn't go away. It eventually did stop asking. Love the quick boot feature; starts up in no time, especially out of hibernations which uses no battery and shuts down quickly as well. Intel i3 processor is plenty fast for typical light travel needs; not a lot of multi-tasking, but can handle all Office apps open at once. Solid state hard drive also great to make it light and with most data now in the cloud you don't need a massive hard drive to store a lot unless you watch a lot of vidoe on the road, which i do not. I should have gotten the USB DVD player with the package deal though. Not good for gaming or heavy video use on the road, but perfect in every other way for travel or just sitting on the couch and surfing. Does not include Bluetooth which would be nice addition. A plus--it can act as an acess point for other wireless devices; good in a wi-fi challenged home if you need a booster. It is pricey compared to the pre-holiday deals on most other laptops but compares very well with the Apple Airbook."

"I love this laptop for its super light weight. It is very convenient to carry arround. It's even lighter than some tablets. Having this computer, I don't see a point of using a tablet because tablets are so limited with what you can do. Good audio and video quality. The Sata drive does make the computer start up really quickly."
