"Pros: Very fast, super light and super thin, elegant design, full range of ports including VGA, HDMI, ethernet and SD slot + USB 3;0, backlit keyboard. Cons: So-so display screen, limited storage capacity. Very pleased with this ultrabook so far. However, be aware that of the 128 GB SSD capacity, 29 GB is used by Toshiba to store recovery and hibernation files in a hidden partition, and another 29 GB for the OS and Toshiba software, leaving only 70 GB of usable space."

"This is my seventh Toshiba laptop. I have purchased most for myself and now I insist that they are the best for my kids as they enter college. Great products and the best customer service make them the best. I am now looking at their all in one desktop. That will probably be my eighth Toshiba. To say the least, a very satisfied customer."

"This is my first ultrabook. It is as light and powerful as expected. The charger is also smaller than those accompanying other version. I always like the touch pad of Toshiba because of its sensitivity. The backlit keyboard is exactly what I need. I am glad I bought this laptop."

"As advertised, the light weight and boot up time are great. My complaints are that the mouse buttons could be larger and require less force and that I only have 60 GB of useable space on a 128GB hard drive. Toshiba probably should throw in a few USB flash drives in the box."

"For the individual who needs a real computer in a thin, lightweight package, the Portege Z935 just makes sense. TheZ935 makes a compelling argument in the Ultrabook space in that it, currently, is the lightest, thinnest full featured PC out there. And, if those to things are high on your list of priorities, as they are on mine, then this Toshiba product deserves serous and thoughtful consideration. I chose this machine because it came equipped with all the hardware features that populated my list of criteria. Additionally, Toshiba's reputation of quality and experience raised my confidence even further. Now, after a month of use under a wide verity of situations and environments I am sure that my decision was the correct one. The positives that weigh in favor of the Z935 (IMO,of course) are the following: - Weight - Thinness - Lighted keyboard - Super- fast boot-up - Bluetooth - RJ-45 (wired LAN) jack - HDMI - 3g CORE I5 - SSD primary storage (freak'n fast!) In a month's time these are the few negatives I have encountered: - The space bar is hit-and-miss. I have limited hand function (long story and not for here) and I type only with my left. I am not sure where the contact(s) are for theZ935 keyboard but I find often that it misses my spaces and I must go back and correct. All the other keys are appropriately sensitive and function as expected, but the space bar is a source of frustration. - The 120 GB SSD comes configured with a boot partition of only 99 GB. There are three other partitions of 1.5 GB at the very front, 6 GB immediately following the boot partition and 12.5 at the end dedicated to the system recovery files. This architecture is very inefficient. Toshiba should compress the recovery files (and write in an expand function at the front of the recovery feature). As for the other two partitions, I'm guessing they are there to insure users don't cause Toshiba any more support headache that necessary, they certainly are not there to maximize usable storage on the smallish boot sector. Toshiba needs to put the user first when designing their standard disk image, "Come on guys, it's not that much extra work..." - The touchpad mouse buttons offer no positive feedback to the touch and seem terribly stiff. A little more usability testing on these is needed. That's it for negatives, again, in my opinion. It may look like a lot of words but in the big picture the annoyance does not outweigh the benefits/positives. I hope Toshiba will use this feedback to further improve an already enjoyable user experience. Finally, I found the entire shopping experience with Toshiba Direct to be clean, easy and efficient. I especially liked their fraud prevention call back and confirmation.I felt as though someone there was looking out for my interests. Thank you! This is a solid well equipped PC for the highly mobile professional who needs a real computer,. Buy it!"

"I ordered online. The Ultrabook came on schedule. I truly enjoy this computer. I had been using a 17" laptop that I liked very much, but it was just too heavy. The Portege is very light, comes only almost a fast as my tablet. I like it better than a tablet. I have only been using for a month, but anticipate getting many hours of use."

"I can only say one thing about this unit, its fast fast and fast. Boot times at 20 seconds or less, access times for programs milliseconds. The weight is great very easy to handle. I used it to video conference for 2 hours and the battery still had 1:49min left on it. Yes I know there is no CD/DVD in it but you really only need it to load software and you are done. WiFi Speeds are phenomenal and data on LAN is excellent it helps to have a Newer router. The camera and mike are very good. Speakers are great for size output to headphones OK not great but then this is not a Sound Card based unit. Screen is crisp clear and bright. The keyboard is a little mushy but short throw buttons with mini keys are that way. The lighted keyboard I would not give up for anything great in dimly lit areas. Handles Office and Photo applications with good speed and great for a mini portable office. I have owned Toshibas for 25 years now, this one is far the best I have had in years. Just a footnote get the Core i5 like I did its speed is well worth it in this genre of laptop. I cannot say anything bad about this unit. I wish it was a little cheaper but then it is still affordable."

"It's very fast, applications, start up & shut down, its great really. I love its looks, simple but sleek. My biggest complaints are the battery life is not even close to 8.75hrs, when I have it in eco mode and only a browser and Word open I would say the battery lasts about 6 hrs give or take a little. I think that is good enough for my needs. SO consider that the rating given by toshiba is probably with no applications running. Also, the SSD might be 128gb but after cleaning the boatware I was left with less than 70gb. Again, this is sufficient for my tasks at school and writing but customers should definitely be aware of this. With the upgrade to Windows 8, it may take even more space. I wouldn't liked to spend a little bit less but I did a lot of comparisons between ultrabooks and their size, weight, specs, and looks and this was the best bang for buck that suited my tastes. I do not regret buying it yet, hopefully no problems surface with it."

"I had the laptop for two and a half weeks, and let me tell you, it is incredibly light. I carry my textbooks around all the time, and they are heavy as it is, so I purchased this baby to deal with some of the weight issue. Carrying around is almost a joke -- you can easily hold it with two fingers -- and it's so thin, one may think I'm handling a piece of paper. Yet I found performance extremely good. The i5 processor was a worthy investment (it is much different from i3) as the computer is really fast: startup is under 20 seconds, and installing some heavy processing/computational software didn't seem to introduce any lag at all. The only potential downside is that the keyboard, though backlit and gorgeous, is somewhat stiff and takes some getting used to. However, it is extremely quiet to type on, so taking notes in a classroom should not be a problem. Disk space hasn't been an issue yet -- I'm using it for study and work and not for games. It took some organizing, but 120 smth gigs seems to be enough, for now. Currently using a third of it. Most of my info is in the cloud, and most of the pictures and music is also online. I had some reservations about glossy screen, but the display is actually excellent -- and large! My 4+lb Fujitsu laptop from two years ago is 12.4", but this one is 13+" and it is very noticeable. I don't use this computer for graphics, so I adjusted it for text. However, the resolution and color are both great and allow for considerable customization. Given the weight, to superior resolution and screen size compared to older models seems almost... unfair. It's good to see PC technology getting up to speed on portability. This gem here is a good example of these technological advances."
