"I virtually never write product reviews, but having used this ultra book for about six months, including on trips to many countries, I like it so much that here goes... I have had lots of laptops from lots of manufacturers over the years (I have four right now). I bought this Toshiba after very careful comparison with the competition, and I can say that it comes the nearest to perfection ever. It works very well in general (speed, wi-fi, etc) as one would expect. But it has two special qualities: (1) it is extremely light even by ultra book standards -- a huge advantage on the road, and (2) it has all the necessary ports, which other ultra books skimp on and require accessories for. Another point -- for all its lightness, I have found it very robust. Early on I dropped it with a huge crash on to the floor, and I immediately worried about my product insurance. But just one keyboard key sprang loose, and I clipped it back. In the five months since then, I have had not a single problem. I am careful when I open/close the super-slim lid/screen. I routinely slip the computer into my briefcase (with no special padding protection) and take it everywhere. It has been very satisfactory and satisfying. I routinely connect It to auxiliary monitors, keyboards and projectors when on the road. It has made my other laptops quite obsolete. Battery life is not at all bad. Speed is good. The charging brick is mercifully small. I wish they could be more creative in cutting down on the charging cord bulk -- as I travel, I do not encounter situations where the electrical outlet is some 14 feet away from the computer. The Toshiba machine is not cheap, until you compare its price with some expensive similarly high-end ultra books from other manufacturers. Then it looks a bit more like a bargain. Anyway, I am happy to say that here is one electronics product for which I have no buyer's remorse whatsoever. It's very good and I recommend it."

"I purchased this laptop for my husband is use when we travel. My goal was the lightest weight ultra at the best price. After a lot of research I found that this particular machine met all of my criteria. We love the thinness and lightweight. So far, performance has been excellant. I have heard no complaints and I can't tell you how wonderful that is since I am his technical support."

"I worry about the screen cracking with such a flexible cover. But other than that, a very good ultra laptop. I have had VERY good luck in the past with Toshiba. I move away but am always drawn back to quality."

"I am very pleased with my purchase of the Portege Z935-ST2N03 laptop. I feel it was a good value when I did some comparative pricing. My only concern was the reports that the screen top was "bendy" and not very sturdy. I do see the point. It does have a bit of flex. But, since I am not in a position where I will have any problem taking care of it, I believe it will hold up well. I did purchase a thick neoprene sleeve for it and this seems to offer a good level of protection."

"I did not have to trade features to get an ultralight that I can work on everyday. Anyone who travels should have this. And it is made for business with plenty of ports."

"The Toshiba Ultrabook is very thin and light and performs very well. With the i7 processor and the SSD it is quite fast - faster than my Toshiba laptop with basically the same configuration except with a regular hard drive. I also puchased the portable optical drive for it mainly for restore discs and to be able to load sofware. Haven't used that much but it is compact and works well."

"I am an researcher who specializes in the development and testing of audio software and hardware. I purchased this Ultrabook as a supplement to my usual desktop PC. I was looking for something lightweight, powerful, and affordable with good connectivity, etc. My planned usage for this machine is for when I am traveling and when I am working from home. Based upon my 3 weeks of ownership (including 2 work-from-home days and one 10 day trip), I must say that I have been very pleasantly surprised with this machine. I have purchased lightweight portable computers before, and they have generally been either (i) very expensive with decent performance or (ii) cheap with poor, slow performance. This computer managed to combine fast performance with a good price. My particular configuration includes the Intel Core i7 processor (the fasted option) with 6 GB of RAM and a 128 GB solid state drive. Boot time is fast, and performance of my processor-intensive audio (and video) programs is better than I could have hoped for. Not as fast as my desktop, but really quite good. In addition to the good performance, I quite like the keyboard. It is full sized and convenient to use. Sometimes, on these smaller laptops, the makers squeeze the keys to fit them in (with the main 'bad' side effect being that they shorten the right shift key). This keyboard does not do this. Touch typing on it is as comfortable as on my full-sized desktop keyboard. The track pad is also well positioned (centered below the space bar), which minimized palm/touchpad interaction during typing. The monitor is a little small, but this is a super portable computer -- so I got what I expected. I like that it has a VGA output. I do connect to an external monitor when I work from home (although not when I travel). Even when I did work from the on-board monitor, it was not too bad. I am very happy with the USB and HDMI connections -- although 2 USB 2.0, 1 USB 3.0 and 1 HDMI are pretty standard nowadays on Windows laptops. I love the size and weight when I travel. It is practically like I am not carrying it. The main things that I disliked were the buttons on the track pad. They feel stiff and don't have a satisfying 'click' sensation when I push on them. I will get used to it, I know -- but that could be improved. I also cannot figure out why the brick-power cord is so 'not sleek'. For years, Macs have come with power cords that have built-in prongs upon which to wind the cord when not in use and they also have interchangeable tips that allow one to plug the brick directly into an outlet -- eliminating the need for a second cord from the brick to the outlet. This device comes with the 'standard' kind of PC brick and cord. It is not bad (and is actually fairly small) -- but I cannot figure out why so few PC manufacturers don't make a small effort to make their bricks/cords somewhat more travel-friendly. Finally, I absolutely hate all of the garbage software that comes pre-loaded onto this device. Of course, this is standard on devices like this from pretty much any manufacturer. They are all trying to 'help'. But, it is more aggravating than anything else. I have not yet had the time, but I plan to do a system reinstall to fix this problem. On balance, my likes far outweigh my dislikes. This is a great, lightweight machine. I have already recommended it to a friend who has bought one, and some of my colleagues are considering it also."
