"I'm a high-end tech person. My tower is so strong I can run the heaviest of applications with no lag. I wanted a laptop that would give me that on the road. The specs on this one were great but I didn't like the way it looked in the pictures, but I got it because I needed the juice. When it came I said the pictures didn't do it justice. Everyone thinks its great looking. I wiped out the system and redid it with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, Office Pro Plus, Project Pro, Viso Pro, 4 of the strongest games on the market, Visual Studio 2010 Premium, and a host of programming addons, with a commercial antivirus package. Only the games bring the system up to 50% usage on the resources. If I'm waiting for something, its because the net is slow. It aint me. With that said, I also stopped every unneeded background service so the machine wouldn't use resources I don't want, but I gotta say, its really, really smooth. The cons: The battery - I need another battery, and a bigger one. The touchpad keybuttons are loud when they click. You can't lay in bed with your spouse and click the buttons. It will wake them up. They need a warning paper in the box that tells you that the web cam shows up twice in a video program: the regular and the 3D version (ok that's not really a con, it was so funny that I can make 3d video I fell on the floor laughing). The cons are the only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars, but other than that, this right here...this is the unit that gets it done. My company prefers Toshiba for their warranty, cost, and that they historically have no problem taking the latest and greatest and throwing it ALL into a portable even if it costs them battery life. Also, tech shops have told us that everyone else takes their lead from Toshiba on how to make a laptop. That's saying something."

"Awesome laptop. Very high performance. Very Fast. Would get 5 stars if the battery has more life. Currently it lasts for little less than 2 hrs while unplugged. Little heavy but, is expected for a 17 inch laptop."

"This laptop has been great! The 3D is used mainly for gaming which I do not do tons, but it has been great so far. I do not understand why in some reviews on other sites, people say it is way too big for their lap. That is where I use it most of the time. It is the same height as my old 15.6" laptop but longer because of the widescreen. If I had gone down to a 15" or 16" it would have been too small. The battery life is not great. That is the only downside I can see so far. Just a minor gripe is the noise level on the 2 touchpad buttons. They sound "cheap" but function well. Heat has not been an issue with this laptop. It stays very cool which I was surprised to find out."

"I love this computer. It's lighning fast and it has the best keyboard of any laptop I've ever used. In fact, I never wanted a laptop because of the keyboards being so compact and the keys being too close. This keyboard is just the perfect size."

"this was a good buy since it was on sale and it offered state of the art features. i wanted good sound without using external speakers and got it. I like the amount of ram this came with and it has one of the best mobile video cards available."

"Pros: Powerful machine, great features (love the mouse and led keyboard) Great all around Cons: Battery life isnt great, Toshiba video drivers are way behind NVIDIA's and you HAVE to use Toshiba's Love this machine. Toshiba Tech needs to fix their drivers or Toshiba needs to allow standard NVIDIA drivers so it can always be up to date."

"I really liked the laptop until it quit and I had to send it back to Toshiba where it was stored for 2 weeks, I now have it back and so far it is working like new. Just a glitch I guess"

"This laptop amazes me on how powerful it is playing games , multi tasking, and anything else you throw at it. The battery is horrible .. they need to ship with a 12 cell primary @ around 90wh. Other than the battery performance the only other thing is not compatible with the latest nvidia 285 driver *it works but screws up 3d vision, and screen goes black sometimes.* so use the toshiba recommended driver on their site. 268.85 driver. 3d vision effects are awesome games, movies online.. whatever be the case... im really impressed."
