"Recently I replaced my 5 year old dell laptop with this laptop- What I was looking for was something I could use as a replacement for a desktop that I could still move around easily. New system specs -16G ram -intel i7-3630qm -3G nvideo gtx 670m -256G solid state + 500G secondary -Windows 8 + HD screen So this setup has definitely suited my needs so far. I can play StarCraft II on the highest graphics without a problem which is what I was looking for. The alternatives I found were either far more expensive, without a SSD drive, or had that weird common gaming laptop trend of a pimp-my-ride esque appearance. So I'm happy with this purchase. Only two problems I've encountered- I personally don't like windows 8 and they included ports on the right side. I still use a mouse but obviously its a little hindrance"

"While I am entirely against Win 8, the problems I have with this laptop are too numerous to give individually. I had to create my own recovery disk is at the very top of the list. Something that used to be included as a standard is now my responsibility? Yet I still get to pay full price...odd. Had I not been experienced in the installation of my own upgrades, this laptop could have easily cost me over double the price I paid. Luckily, I know where to buy and how to install, so I paid significantly less. There is just too much lacking on this model though. A simple volume control knob/wheel, the buttons on the touchpad make it impossible to do any precision work (i.e. closing a window, clicking ok, or just double clicking a word on a page) because they are part of the touchpad and touching them makes the cursor move involuntarily off the desired location if you're not careful, the function buttons (F1-F12) require pressing the FN button at the same time instead of their secondary functions (volume control, etc.), these are only the most obvious of all the many design flaws and issues. One note, get an SSD for the primary drive if you want this computer to boot in less than ten minutes. Where you buy the drive is your choice"

"The Core i7 is powerful and everything you'd dream of. The battery life is terrible, an 1hr and 15 mins maybe? The GTX 670m is not good eather. Get 5 FPS on Skyrim on ultra settings and 20 on GTA IV (2008). Comes with alot of boltware. The bios is UEFI based so linux is a pain to install."

"I'm a game player and love music. This laptop fits the bill for what I needed exactly. I have had many compliments on it. Nice speakers play music clear. Plays games just great. Wireless network card is fantastic, if there is any signal it will work. The laptop I have has the I5 processor so I would assume the I7 is even better. I have owned mine now for 2 years and am 100% satisfied. The only thing I would note is this laptop is huge and very heavy. Not an issue for me but it maybe for some. Personally I think it represents the quality built in to it."

"Purchased Qosmio X870-BT3G23 for my wift for Christmas. It locks up after about 15 minutes of usage and need to be rebooted. The heat vent is on the right side so if you use a mouse your hand is on fire all of the time. Less then a month old and she won't use it."

"With two drive bays and 4 memory slots (although only 2 are user-accessible), this laptop has upgradability and capacity not found in many others in this class. Performance is top-notch and the graphics are really great, but come at the price of significant heat, a bulky and heavy 180W power supply, and significantly shortened battery time when gaming unplugged (Toshiba needs to look at the GT650M as a compromise solution for some models). Overall, a desktop-replacement laptop for relatively hardcore gamers, with specs that will give it a longer useful lifespan than most laptops in its price range."

"Purchase a new laptop annually, bought a x870 with Windows 8 to use as test machine in office. Battery is a brick, laptop is a bust, possibly worst purchase in 20+ years."
