"I have to say, I have had a lot of laptops and desktop computers and I have used about every brand there is available. By far the Toshiba Qosmio X875 is the best computer I have ever owned. The build of the laptop is superior. Everyone who has looked at it has been impressed on the quality. The laptop is stylish and very sturdy. The screen is excellent and sound is best I have seen on a laptop. This was the first computer I have owned that was equipped with Windows 8. I have read the reviews of people having problems with Windows 8, however I have had no issues with the operating system and after looking at a few posts about shortcuts, I now am satisfied with the operating system and it is very user friendly. I can guarantee the next laptop I purchase will be a Qosmio. If you are looking for a high quality computer that is built to last for years, consider the Qosmio. Yes you will pay a few more dollars however the quality of the product is outstanding and well worth the price."

"I love this laptop. It starts up very quickly. No waiting around lot some, it starts right up. It works very quickly. It didn't take long at all to learn Windows 8. However, I think Windows 8 could have some improvements. I always buy Tishiba Lap Tops I have tried many others but always turn to Toshiba when it is time to buy a new one."

"I think this laptop would be really good if it didn't have Windows 8. The wireless reception is not near as good as my old Toshiba Satellite was. Setting up email was very difficult for POP3. The battery life is not so good but that is probably due to the hi rez screen and high end processors. I miss the larger screen of my Satellite more than i thought i would!"

"I am the CEO of a virtual consulting business operating in 38 countries around the world. My success in my business is centered upon having the right computer. I started my business 10 years ago with Toshiba. I have purchased 2 other brands since due to my staff making the purchase and had terrible results. I came back to Toshiba because it is reliable, cutting-edge, has the features I need for my business and I know I can trust it to help me go to the next level. The only part I do not like is Windows 8, but there is a quick work around for that, so don't let that hold you back. Toshiba is by far the most superior PC on the market regardless of the operating system."

"I'll try to make it easy listing out the pros and cons.
Pros :
1. Incredibly fast performance as the specs suggests. It seems like nothing can slow this machine down.
2. Good audio output from the quad speakers.
3. Good build quality, laptop feels quite rugged.
4. Very responsive multi-touch pad.
5. Nice design.
Cons :
1. Laptop is quite heavy so it’s strenuous to carry around. After all it is a big 17”
2. Mediocre battery backup. About 2 hours for mixed use (media/browsing).
3. Screen resolution could have been FULL HD. 16:9 is OK but not great.
4. I feel the keyboard could have been better. I like the backlit but the keys themselves are not very comfortable.
5. This maybe a individual concern but this laptop has no BluRay DVD player. I am fine with it since I very rarely use BluRay discs.
Overall this is a great laptop and a good value for money. When you use the laptop the sheer performance wafts you over the cons so that should not be a big issue. I have been using this for a couple of months now and I love it! Definitely worthy."

"I have a huge super desktop with two 28" 1920 x 1200 screens that really rocks.
But I have presentations to do sometimes for my company and wanted to be able to work from anywhere I might be. So I bought the Qosmio X875-Q7390
WOW!!! Blown away. Not taking any chances I got the fan Cooler Master that goes underneath it. So far have not needed it. The utility that comes on the Big Q that tells what is heating and running well or not, shows that everything is fine.
I really like this and the value is unbelievable!"

"Recently I replaced my 5 year old dell laptop with this laptop- What I was looking for was something I could use as a replacement for a desktop that I could still move around easily.
New system specs
-16G ram
-intel i7-3630qm
-3G nvideo gtx 670m
-256G solid state + 500G secondary
-Windows 8 + HD screen
So this setup has definitely suited my needs so far. I can play StarCraft II on the highest graphics without a problem which is what I was looking for. The alternatives I found were either far more expensive, without a SSD drive, or had that weird common gaming laptop trend of a pimp-my-ride esque appearance. So I'm happy with this purchase.
Only two problems I've encountered-
I personally don't like windows 8 and they included ports on the right side. I still use a mouse but obviously its a little hindrance"

"This laptop was great! The sound, graphics card, and screen all exceeded my expectations! Well really the computer in whole did.
I've seen some people whining about battery life but I have to say this isn't a problem really. Given what this laptop can do.
That being said I'd rate it a 8/10 only because of when I opened it and took it out of the box the border around the keys was sticking up. I had to push it in myself. Also the optical drive was faulty(spinning up on its own ever few mins.)so I sent it back to the store for replacement.(not paying this type of money just to have to have a repair job done.)
Two other things of note. 1. This laptop does get hot while playing games. Didn't matter if it was an hour or of it was 4 hours. It heats up fast.
2.Win.8...really I'm not a fan however it doesn't slow this one down any! Few hours playing around with it and I felt like a pro. I really see no need to downgrade to 7.
All in all I love this laptop."

"While I am entirely against Win 8, the problems I have with this laptop are too numerous to give individually. I had to create my own recovery disk is at the very top of the list. Something that used to be included as a standard is now my responsibility? Yet I still get to pay full price...odd. Had I not been experienced in the installation of my own upgrades, this laptop could have easily cost me over double the price I paid. Luckily, I know where to buy and how to install, so I paid significantly less. There is just too much lacking on this model though. A simple volume control knob/wheel, the buttons on the touchpad make it impossible to do any precision work (i.e. closing a window, clicking ok, or just double clicking a word on a page) because they are part of the touchpad and touching them makes the cursor move involuntarily off the desired location if you're not careful, the function buttons (F1-F12) require pressing the FN button at the same time instead of their secondary functions (volume control, etc.), these are only the most obvious of all the many design flaws and issues. One note, get an SSD for the primary drive if you want this computer to boot in less than ten minutes. Where you buy the drive is your choice"

"This is really a great laptop with great features and at a great price compared to others with same characteristics. The main problem is battery life, which lasts an hour or a bit more. A laptop with such great features should have a better battery, or at least have it sold separately, but you can't find an expansion battery for Qosmio laptops. Apart from that, this laptop is awesome ! :D"

"Video Excellent, Keyboard Excellent, Memory 16GB, Hard Drives 1TB each. What else can I say? The computer is fast with an intel i7. Only problem is the touch pad. Kept turning it on and off by double clicking the left side of the pad, but fixed that problem by turning this feature off. So if you want an excellent computer for the price you can't go wrong buying this laptop. The only problem you'll have is with Windows 8 but every computer will have the same problem. Please note I gave Battery Life 5 stars but I never use my laptop without it plugged in, therefore I am unsure about battery life. It is my opion that anyone who would buy a laptop like this is not interested in battery life. This laptop is a desktop replacement. Some might say it's more powerful then some desktop computers."

"This laptop is super fast, the screen is big, the graphics are awesome. I wish there was a way to personalize it though as the only option is red and black. I also wished it came with Windows 7 as Windows 8 has its quirks but that has nothing to do with the laptop itself. Got this to play all my Sims 3 games and I am thrilled at how this laptop handles it all. I am a loyal Toshiba fan as I had a satellite series for about 4 years and never had any issues and this purchase did not disappoint in any way. If you're looking for a system with these specs under any other brand you WILL be paying ALOT. The battery doesn't last long but I keep mine plugged in most of the time so it doesn't bother me too much. I nicknamed my laptop Dream as it is the laptop I always dreamed about :)"

"I replaced a Toshiba Satellite that I had for 8 years and with very minimal problems. Needless to say after that experience I was going to buy another Toshiba and tell all my friends about the longevity of the Toshiba, I, so far have high hopes for my new Toshiba.
This laptop is very fast and has never even gotten warm, and I have put it though some multitasking and other kinds of tests, that would overheat my previous laptop. The display is very nice, I don't know if I would say eye popping but very nice for sure and plenty of screen real estate. The keyboard is nice with the back light, however the pad is right in the way and easy to touch accidentally while typing, it does have a touch-pad disable button and I am getting used to using it when doing a lot of typing (also you can double-click in the upper left corner to disable). Battery life is average for a laptop with this much power, not impressive but not a disappointment either, I think I get between 3 and 5 hours unplugged and doing light work (e-mails, surfing) closer to 2-3 hours with Photoshop or AutoCAD. I still would love for makers of computers to leave the software writing to the software makers and not plug up new computers with software that nobody uses and have to waste time removing, there is enough to do getting used to a new computer and new Windows OS. The weight is good for a laptop this size and power.
Overall a great value, and great laptop so far. If it lasts as long as my previous Toshiba I will be extremely happy."

Wireless network card is fantastic, if there is any signal it will work. The laptop I have has the I5 processor so I would assume the I7 is even better. I have owned mine now for 2 years and am 100% satisfied. The only thing I would note is this laptop is huge and very heavy. Not an issue for me but it maybe for some.

"I have to be honest, I love Toshiba, so this may come across as bias. Late in 2006 I purchased a Toshiba P100 Satellite (custom built) after doing extensive research on quality and reliability. Since that time, I have purchased two more satellites for both of my parents, and just recently, purchased the Qosmio X875 for myself.
I am not a gamer, but I am a technologist. I have technical programs, CAD, CAM, which sometimes requires a decent PC to perform tasks efficiently.
Not only does this computer out perform my expectations, I can muti-task with two monitors, running high CPU usage, and still have seamless transitions with no issue.
You get what you pay for, and for those of us who must run high end programs, like watching 1080P 3D movies, this does it all.
The only thing I haven't experienced is running on the battery, since this sits in my office until I travel, which I haven't done since my purchase.
Oh, and by the way, my 2006 satellite P100, still works great.
Thank you for making a product I can rely on!!!"

"This laptop does everything my old laptop did only faster. Boot up is quick. The Sata 3 (6gb/sec) hard drive interface is why it's quick plus the 3.4 GHZ processor. Google Earth is fantastic on this laptop. (had to update the Nvidia drivers to 310.90 though to get Google Earth to display in 3D. Nasa also has a neat 3D presentation about the Mars Land Rover. The 3D webcam is cool, even records in 3D will be nice when SKYPE has the ability to view in 3D (someone should suggest it to SKYPE) Played Monsters VS Aliens Blu-Ray 3D on this laptop (looks great!) Verified that the Blu-Ray drive actually records and plays back BD-RE disks ( got deceived by HP on my old laptop which only records and played BD-R disks) Windows 8 is basically the same as 7 only with a different menu (uses Apps) the shut down sequence is similar but need to mouse over to far right lower screen to settings menu whereas before on 7 you just went to your windows icon located in the task bar."

"This laptop has great visual graphics with a nice and big screen. I haven't had any performance issues with it but I must say that the batter life is pretty bad. Even on eco settings it only lasts about 1.5 hours before needing plugged back in. The only other problem that I had with it was getting used to windows 8, it's ok but should really be only used with touch screen devices. Oh and no scrolling with the touch pad is annoying, I bought a wireless mouse because of this bothering me so much"

"I bought this laptop for my college classes, and for gaming. I have had this computer for a month and a year, and I love it. It is a beast of a work horse, and can take the toughest jobs. And I love the backlit keys. But of games like Just Cause 2 and Skyrim I have to have the computer plugged in or else it laggs a bit. Which is fine by me, I dont mind having to plug up, but it does get annoying. One other thing That could have been better it its battery life, its pretty short. Overall though this is a very good computer for either the workaholics, or the gamer on the go. I still wish I could turn off the backlight name on the back of the computer."
Great laptop, terrible OS GUI January 31, 2013

"This is a GREAT laptop and, so far, it handled beautifully I everything I threw at it!
On the minus side:
- the wireless chipset (Intel Centrino Wireless N2230) can't connect to 5Ghz networks; this is a HUGE let-down on a higher-end laptop like this one.
- Windows 8: the GUI is not only dreadful (Fisher-Price inspired square tiles, much?, no possibility to change the retina-searing white windows background), it is also completely impractical if don't you use it with a touch-enabled device. There are workarounds, but expect to spend some time tweaking it before you can recreate an interface that allows productivity type work. This being said, once you managed to whip its GUI into submission, Windows 8 is really fast and runs pretty smoothly.
- I'm personally not fond at all of the flashy red accents and I'd much rather have silver/white tones. (I fully realize that this one is a matter of taste, a really minor issue, and I can live just fine with the red.)"

"Keep reading reviews about wanting to load win7...suggest full install, drive swap, need to change bios to CSM from UEFI to load from install disk. There are drivers for win7 64 bit on Tosh european site to download for this. I swapped out to SSD, loaded win7 ultimate on mine. Trick to BIOS is to hold down F2 when you hit power button, then hold down F12 to go into BIOS.
Great machine for all other reasons but batttery only about 2 hours is not good for me. Love it otherwise now that I have win7."

"Boot's up in 60 seconds. My old HDX18t HP took a loooong 15 minutes to boot up. Love the 3D! Especially the 3D webcam! Google Earth is in 3D also. Watched Monsters and Aliens in 3D absolutely the greatest! Windows 8 takes a little getting used to though. One minor discrepancy. Wi Fi is listed as A/G/N doesn't have wireless N capability. ."

"Purchased Qosmio X870-BT3G23 for my wift for Christmas. It locks up after about 15 minutes of usage and need to be rebooted. The heat vent is on the right side so if you use a mouse your hand is on fire all of the time. Less then a month old and she won't use it."

"I love the look and feel of this lap top. The keys light up red in the dark so I can see them. I am stymied however by windows 8. I just hate it. Counterintuitive would be the word to describe it. If Toshiba would take it back and install windows 7 on it the machine would be dead on perfect."

"The X875 Q7380 is my dream laptop, it has everything I had ever hoped to have in a laptop - Insane RAM, a fast processor, incredible graphic card, large 17" screen and it was $100 cheaper too!
But the only downside is that I wish it wasn't $100 cheaper, just so that it could have come with Windows 7 because that's what I had seen it with first. Windows 8 is terrible (in my opinion) and I wish there were a way for me to install Windows 7 on my laptop."

"With two drive bays and 4 memory slots (although only 2 are user-accessible), this laptop has upgradability and capacity not found in many others in this class. Performance is top-notch and the graphics are really great, but come at the price of significant heat, a bulky and heavy 180W power supply, and significantly shortened battery time when gaming unplugged (Toshiba needs to look at the GT650M as a compromise solution for some models).
Overall, a desktop-replacement laptop for relatively hardcore gamers, with specs that will give it a longer useful lifespan than most laptops in its price range."

"1st thing i did was replce the main HD with a 128gb Crucial SSD (M4) and made the primary HD my backup drive in bay #2. I added 8more gig of ram for a toal of 16gb. I just wish it had a express 34 card slot. Other colors besides red would have been nice to choose from. Also works great with the Toshiba Dynadock."
