"I bought my second Toshiba laptop after 4 years of great service from my first, but I am sorry I did. This machine is terrible for an I7 CPU! It boots slow, constantly crashes from hibernation mode and the touchpad is always switing to scroll mode, I assume based on some design flaw in the outer casing. I was hoping time and care would root out the issues but I suspect I will give this to my daughter for a Facebook machine and buy the Lenova I should have."

"So I got this expecting a quality product from a company I have always relied upon. To my dismay after 3-4 months now I have nothing but 45 minute battery life unless I shut all the little extras off. I have a video card that cant a simple game like Hellgate on lowest setting and still over heat the video card within 15 minutes. Lastly the keyboard only works sometimes, If I press the A, S, or Spacebar button it only works half the time. I like the speed of the computer and streamlined look and feel. I also like the software bundle, but I really should have taken this back after the first week. Not really happy I spent a lot on this laptop, but hey I got it for almost 400 hundred dollars cheaper than they are selling it for on there website."

"I've had this for 3 months now and the laptop is serving me well. Once I took most of the bloatware out this laptop works great for what I need. Replaced another toshiba that had a screen light problem. I repaired that one and gave it to my daughter. I always buy Toshiba as they seem to perform better than any others I tried before. The only problem I've had is that internet explorer has some kind of glitch that intermittently shuts the browser down. It usually restarts itself but this is a pain if I'm gaming. I'm sure eventually an update will cure this problem. The keyboard is great since I now have a num pad to work with. This makes things simpler for me when working with accounting program. Overall I'm happy with the laptop."

"Recent Toshiba Laptops' quality are definitely worse than the older ones. What a disappointment! It perhaps to make the operational cost cheaper.
It is ridiculous to implant 6-cell battery into an intel core i7 machine just like this product. The result is, of course, a really poor battery life performance. It's supposed to be 12-cell battery for intel core i7 laptop, everyone knows it.
The Keyboard keeps annoying me by jumping my typed texts here and there. How could that be like that?
I had always trusted and bought Toshiba laptops for last ten years, yet it will be my last Toshiba laptop."

"I've had my laptop for the past 4 months and pratically running a lot of the new games out there. Battery life could be better but I keep mine plug to the wall. For the perfomance you're getting out of it, its not a bad tradeoff either."

"All in all Ifound the Toshiba Sat A665 really good with its features but unfortunately it's battery life is only approximately 1 hr & 30 mins.
As a Law Enforcement Officer & Instructor for different police agencies and academies, battery life is important. I utilize this in court cases too, where I have use power points to explain things to the jury & judge, so having a small battery life does not go well for me."

It is still a good one but the A665 is much better. I am very pleased with every feature this laptop has to offer. As a matter of fact two friends purchased the same Laptop after they used this one."

"The laptop works well, but two major issues led me to return the laptop. First, the battery life is terrible. After establishing the most conservative energy settings possible, I was only able to get one hour and thirty minutes out of it before the battery was spent. I could live with that, but the keyboard issue made the computer worthless to me. Due to the layout of the keyboard, my thumb hits the spacebar at the bottom right corner of the key. Typing rather quickly, I get the tactile feedback of the spacebar being depressed, but the computer fails to register it. I was spending more time going over the documents I was creating to insert spaces than I was spending actually compiling the document. Was extremely frustrating to say the least.
Returned the first unit thinking it was a dud, but the replacement unit experienced the same issue.
Decent product otherwise."

"Since I have only had this laptop for about about a month to six weeks, it is difficult to say what my overall impressions are. I still intend on loading software related to my employment. "I bought this laptop based on the Intel Core i7 processor. After some coaxing, it rates a 5 on the Windows Experience Index (it was a 4.8 out of the box). The egregious amount of bloatware made a complete reinstallation of Windows necessary. I am planning on upgrading the RAM to 8Gb to try and improve the performance, which should really be a lot better at this price."

"The processing speed is great. I love the keyboard. The monitor is not quite as good as I would like but the ability to utilize the HDMI cable and connect to the TV somewhat offsets that frustration. Overall a very good value!"

"I bought this laptop about a month ago... The Best Buy salesman talked me into it, as I was initially looking to buy a Samsung or Sony laptop. I wanted a mid-size laptop that also had the 10-key number pad as part of the keyboard. The salesman directed me to this Toshiba laptop... I like the fact that it's an i7 processor and that the features are advanced. I felt it was a good value since the technology would remain current for a longer period of time. But I have been thoroughly disappointed with the battery life. It lasts maybe an hour. AND although it's been fully charged and then shut down and TURNED OFF, it will have little to no power when I try to start it up again. I don't understand how power can be drained when the computer is TURNED OFF. I'm following up to see if I can get a replacement battery. Other than that, and the fact that I thought an i7 would be faster, it does what I need it to do."

"The tab key feels cheap, loose, and flimsy and makes a loud noise with each tap. It rattles and is not smooth like other keys. In fact the keys, in general, are not as smooth as previous Satellite versions.
The mouse pad area is tricky and sensitive to a fault. It jumps when I am typing and will magnify while I am scrolling. I hate when it occurs, because it decreasing my efficiency. This is my third Toshiba Satellite laptop and it is very disappointing in comparison to previous versions. The quality and feel of the product has fallen substantially. Previously, I recommended the Toshiba line to anyone in the market for a laptop. I can no longer continue to recommend this product due to current level of quality. This will be my last Toshiba laptop."

"I hate the touchpad! I have gone to a wireless mouse because the touchpad kept randomly changing the font...making it so small at times that it was almost un-readable. Couldn't figure out how to address that issue so the mouse seems to have. Perhaps a User's Manual to accompany it when purchased would be beneficial. It still is a little slower than I anticipated."

"For the price, this was the best laptop with an I7 core available in my opinion. The only downside is the poor battery life as my laptop doesn't reach the 2hr mark unplugged and the mouse buttons are pretty cheap. A Blue Ray player would have been nice too. Other than that, the sound system is phenomenal, the performance is good, video is great, having a web cam is a big plus, and the features that came with it are great as well. Overall I am very pleased."

"The keyboard is the main reason I purchased this laptop. Very easy to type on for those of us who grew up using a typewriter. I have had no problems with the unit so far. Things that I don't like are the placement of the USB ports. They are at the front, placing cables in the way. It would be better if they were further towards the rear. The power cable plug is very large and gets in the way of the optical drive slot. The mouse pad is too far to the left. It should be centered under the keyboard. It's taking some getting used to."

"I owned a Toshiba Satellite laptop three years ago until I decided I wanted to upgrade. I sold my Toshiba to my brother and bought myself a HP. After only a few weeks my HP was slow, already had software issues, and was beginning to have poor internet connectivity. Last August I sold my HP to my sister, who just needed a laptop to write papers in college. Promising never to stray away from Toshiba again, I bought this Satellite A665 and it has not disappointed me yet. It is fast still even after I have installed many programs onto it. The battery could last a little longer, but PC batteries have always had that issue. It runs fast all the time, I can play games on it, and I just enjoy being on it. Although pricey, it is worth the money."

"If your looking for a laptop with the fastest processor great video playback, lots of room for memory so you can work without ever slowing down. This computer has a lot of power that can offer without breaking the bank.
