"Got this laptop for school and a home business. It is wicked quick and has most of the features i need for everything. It would be nice if there was and extra 1 or 2 usb ports but i dont normally use more then two at any time and if so i can get a splitter. People belly aching about the battery life but i have had no issues, they should learn to let their battery wear down before charging and to not over charge cuz it kills the cells. Overall very pleased! got it at a great price too!"

"I bought this computer to stream live to the web. When I connected a small 4 channel audio mixer to the mic. in I got, what sounded like overdriven audio on the web. NOT a good buy if you need to put audio IN."

"I am very happy with this laptop. I like the numeric keypad on the side and it has a nice size screen. I wish the battery life was longer, but the hard drive space is ample, and it is a very good value for what I paid."

"I am a graduate student working on my MBA and having a solid laptop is a critical tool. Several months ago, both of my family's Dell laptops desktop crashed in the same week (one with a bad hard drive, the other a broken fan). In frustration and desperation, I picked up this inexpenisve Toshiba Satelllite so I could get classwork done. I use it heavily and haven't experienced any of the problems I had with my Dell laptop (which started almost immediately). The Satellite is NOT a serious gamers' laptop, but it is completely sufficient for class work and light online games (such as Wizard101). I've actually handed over my expensive Dell laptop to the kids, and use the Toshiba exclusively."

"I have been very happy with all aspects of this laptop !I don't know why I waited so long to get one. I looked at alot of different PC's and the Toshiba was the best value and had the best reviews of any I found. My old desktop has been pretty lonely lately."

"After decades of using employment related computers, I was reluctant to choose a laptop. My primary concern was that the keyboard was too small for me to use. This Toshiba Satellite C655 is perfect, I highly recommend it to fellow retirees."

"Bought an expensive laptop from another mfg. & had nothing but trouble with it for 2 months.....finally had to return it to the mfg. for hard drive replacement. Bought this computer as a backup until the other one was repaired. I like this one so well that I'm going to use it all the time.......the other one will be sold."

"I have used regular desktop computers since I attended college in the 1980's. I studied computers at a school in 2001, at, which time I learned the computer inside and out. My mother received a gift of a desktop in late 2001, from her employer, to have their employees learn to be computer savvy. I even set up her computer and installed all programs myself. Back then it was not always so simple to accomplish the task easily.
Having a laptop is a lot of fun and no matter where I travel I can bring it with me. What a great convenience. I have come a long way since college when I used the original Macintosh and Apple II E computers.
I just need to get use to the touch pad. I am constantly closing applications because I am not use to the touch pads high sensitivity to touch. OOPS!
My first experience otherwise, is wonderful. I love it!
Owning a Toshiba which I have heard repeatedly is one of the best, makes my endeavors with laptops easy.
Although Computer techs at the retail store where I purchased the Toshiba laptop handled the set-up for me, adding and installing additional programs is a breeze."

"I purchased this laptop to use exclusively to surf the internet on unfamiliaar sites. I was surprised at the quality for the money. I was not expecting much but right out of the box the machine operated efficienatly and there has been no problem with the computer or its operation. I also appreciated its light weight and slim smooth design."

"This is a good little laptop. Very fast, and I love the number pad on the keyboard. The display is sharp, crisp and clear with great color. My only disappointment is that it only has 2 USB ports and the speakers are very low and do not have good quality sound. I solved this by adding USB speakers, now it sounds great. All in all I am very happy with this laptop."

"This is a great laptop for the price. I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money and this was the best computer for what I wanted to spend. I did end up going and buying a wireless mouse because the touchpad has way too many functions for me. I'm not compleletely familiar with the operating system, but I'm learning."

"For some reason I have struggles with this laptop. It simply doesn't seem to have the same ease of features that my Acer had. It seems that I am actually pounding on the touchpad rather than gently touching it....little stuff like that."

"I got this new Toshiba when my other quit,also a Toshiba, then after getting a new one, the old one started. But this one comes on much faster. I use it not on battery very often, so I don't know about it. but my daughter has one and uses the battery all the time,
she also loves it. I have not checked out all you can do with this computer but love to do my games on it, once I get use to the space bar being so far to the left side I will check out everything."

"If I had known that none of my XP software would work on this computer without buying an upgrade, I would have bought a different computer. I still have not been able to get windows 7 setup properly and it is extremely annoying & frustrating. There are too many things that pop up to interfere and the computer shuts totally down when left for a while and has to be signed back into. The speakers are not loud enough and I had to buy speakers to attach so I could hear things and that caused me to have to buy a 4 port USB hub. Now I have all these wires and things sticking out at the side in order to use this computer. Also, windows 7 is still missing a file to make my word processor work properly even though it says it should work after getting the upgrade. With all the add on's I have had to buy, I could have bought a much more expensive computer & may have been much happier. I keep getting a web page error message on just about every web page I visit."

"I bought this computer to replace my HP netbook. I love the screen size, the key pad (number pad included). I bought it on sale at Staples. I use it a lot being a student and it is capable of handling my class work as well as my internet use. I bought my mom a Toshiba Satellite (they were out of the one I bought) and she loves hers too."

"This laptop is a low priced entry level unit. The specs (hard drive, memory, etc.) are very good. Setup is easy and the unit runs well.
The issues I have with it are creature features. There are only 2 USB ports, both on the left side. Best to go with a wireless mouse if you want or need a mouse like me. The sound production is very poor. Frankly, this is the biggest drawback with the unit. If you appreciate good sound performance better plan on a good set of speakers.
I really like the integrated numeric keypad. The key touch is different with the keys being totally flat but you get used to it.
So, if this is your first laptop it is a good unit to start with, inexpensive being very important. If you are high tech and like the creature features better go elsewhere. Have a good one."

"I bought this computer for my small business as a wedding planner/ event cordinator. It was a GREAT price, and it can handle all the things that I have to do on it on a daily basis. It has all the programs that my business and I need. I had to factory reboot my computer within the first 30 days, still not sure to this day, why that was necessary, I have norton, and run daily scans. It just wouldn't restart."

"The keys are flat so it's hard to know where my fingers are. The number pad also pushed the keyboard to the left so the screen is off-center relative to my hands. I thought I was going to get used to this, but since I use other computers, this one remains "odd". I won't buy another Toshiba until they fix this, but others may not perceive these to be major issues."

"the speed is great. I would like to have a couple more usb ports. The speakers volume level and tone quality are real bad.I listen to my music while working on the lap top so I use external speakers to obtain quality sound.
The price vs.options included was a good deal.
This is my first Toshiba, In the past I always purchased H.P. again price vs. options was a factor.
My last H.P. lasted 4 years, I hope I get the same service from my new Toshiba"

"Basically ba good entry level laptop, but a little difficult to use if you are used to user friendly interaction.
The keys are flat making it difficult for touch typers; if you look at the keys or hunt and peck with one or two fingers, this shouldn't bother you, but it makes it tough not to press wrong keys; there are no raised bumps on the "G" and "H" keys to help you find a "home" position without looking.
The touch pad area has alittle too much drag from my taste, not like our Dell Inspiron 1505 that has a silky glide to it; definitely a textured plastic feel. The touch pad also controls zoom and scroll features and is overly responsive to a finger or thumb nearby; while you are trying to postion the cursor, suddenly it zooms to another magnification or brings up the scroll tool. I haven't looked yet to see if this can be adjusted for sensitivity.
Time between recharges averages about three hours- not bad!
It's only been a month, but inspite of the shortcomings, I still like it a a basic laptop.
My advice, buy on sale and don't expect high-end ergonomics!
p.s. it just zoomed to 120% again."

"This is my 2nd Toshiba laptop. Is easy to setup and runs very nice. the 4GB of RAM is a nice option. (anything running Windows 7 should have a MINIMUM of 3GB) Nice layout and the numeric keypad is a nice bonus! My other Toshiba is 4+ years old and besided a button or 2 needing replaced over the years and the kids let the dog chew up the plug for the power supply it's been rock solid. NEVER a problem. HIGHLY recommend to others! Also..NEVER buy ANYTHING with a celeron processor, low price there equals disappointed owner! :)"

"This was the first laptop of my own. I use laptops at work, but never had my own. Has great screen and great speed. Plan on using it for some Local DJ work, and seems to handle the software great. The only glitch I've found so far is that sometimes when rebooting, it would shut off the WIFI card, but I found that the diagnostic would find and repair the problem. All's good"

"My husband bought this for me for Christmas. It was recomended by the salesman as he knows nothing about computers! I wish to thank that salesman for the best gift ever!! I do not know much about computers, but with this one, it's okay! It is like a person is right there with you holding your hand! It is a teaching machine! I have not found anything that I don;t like. I am still getting used to Windows 7, but it is easy! My Toshiba is helping me. The amount of memory in a laptop is fantastic! I will be recommending this to all my friends!!"
