"Before purchasing this model Toshiba Laptop; I must admit I was aprehensive about Toshiba due to a past experience on an HDTV that they really didn't make, (It had the Toshiba name on it).. or help me out (the warranty was expired by 13 days and I had to pay for the repair!)....The laptop is excellent, and actually is the best PC I've ever owned. It is so good that my wife went and bought the same model the next day."

"This was a gift after a long life with my old laptop. I love that I can use it without having to plug into the power source after a couple of hours. I find that it will hibernate on and off when not in use and still not need to plug it in. Bonus number keypad to the right is great to have, didn't think I would need that but its great. I also love the size of it, kinda in the middle. Not very heavy at all. Great looking screen without glare. I'm not a heavy user but it the speed is ok for me, for some it might need more speed/responsiveness when navigating. I like that I can download a restore position to a flashdrive in case I ever have a problem. No need for disks. I still have more investigating to do but so far I am very satisfied."

"When I first got this computer they told me it was compatitibe with HP printer and cameras, they were not neccesareily correct. My IT Tech brother was having a hard time instaling my printer and finally after a month of having it he said that there is a download on the internet that was finally posted somewere (i don't know) that you need to download to make the operating system compatible with the lap top. Everythng is good now and works to my absolute incompentence to computer capability. I would recomend this for any other first time lap top owners!!!"

"This laptop has quick start up, easy to use features (once you get used to them all) and a so-so webcam. Using the webcam at night makes it very grainy and dark, no matter the settings. Day time usage makes you look very pale/ bright when used in light.
I've have a few instances where the screen has totally blacked out and it took a few minutes for it to come back around to normal, with no technical difficulties.
Programs tend to run slower/ not run at all when multiple windows or tabs are open (I have high speed cable internet)
All in all, you get what you pay for, and it's not half bad."

"Keep in mind that this computer is only a little over a month old, but I have been quite impressed so far. It has no little quirks that other computers I have used have been plagued with. The battery life seems adequate, and I particularly like the twenty minute warning that I am running out of battery charge. I bought this computer because I was in a fairly remote location and my other computer died. This was the cheapest available, and I have been pleasantly surprised by its speed, features, and workability,"

"The Satellite C655D-S5202 was a replacement for another Toshiba laptop I purchased in 2006. There are overall technological improvements, but also lacking many convenient features (e.g. volume control wheel, additional USB outlets, HDMI, etc.). Although love having the numeric key pad, the main keypad rows are skewed (expect to adjust to this with continued use). Hate having the Delete key at the top and not as on my older model in between right ALT and CTRL keys at the bottom. Also, the AMD display driver shutdown yesterday, after playing a few youtube videos, blacking out the screen without warrning, but also recovered, promptly. Still this is highly undesirable for a new PC. Otherwise, I'm happy with my new Satellite C655D-S5202, considering it's still rather new that is, and hope for no more surprises; and that it will last more than 5 years."

"It is unfortunate that I have worked with an up market Fujitsu for so long. Even at its venerable age and decrepit condition it is preferable to the new Toshiba. In fairness the new lighter Toshiba is a nice package. However the software sold with it is virtually useless. I do not use any of the eastern or middle eastern languages that are available as fonts, consequently I cannot manage my ongoing uses on the new computer. So it sits shining and new in its box until I can afford appropriate software. A bundle would have been better even if more expensive."

"This is the second toshiba I have bought. I bought my child one in 2008 for college. Never had but one problem out of it and that was this year 2011. Had a extended warranty, called and it was fixed right away. So when I saw this one (satellite c655d-s5202) for the price I decided to buy myself one. I have had it for 2 months now. I am learning how to use it. The only thing i don't like about it is that when you shut it down it says a program is open but you can select to force shut down or wait. I can never find the opened program that it say is opened. But for the price I can deal with it. Overall I have enjoyed my new toshiba. Just hope it's as reliable as the first one."

"If you want a cheap laptop, this is a fair choice. The only problem that I really have is the speakers - very low quality to the point that to understand the words or listening to songs, I had to purchase external speakers to plug into it. You get what you pay for though and I knew it was a less expensive unit so it's parts would be of lesser quality as well."

"So far I am pleased with my purchase. The sound is low, but I cured that with a pair of earphones. I use this computer to surf the web, file some pictures, and keep a few other files. It's not fancy, but it serves my purposes."

"Everyone in my house had their own computer and I was tired of waiting for my turn! My husband bought this laptop for me and I love It!! It's perfect for what I use it for...and I love the features: The card slot and built in web cam. Not to mention the amazing battery ( most less expensive laptops have a low quality battery that lasts 2 or 3 hours max ) My Laptop works fast, although I've read other reviews that have complained of it running slow. Could'nt ask for a better laptop for a busy mom."

"Very happy with my purchase of this laptop. I had been pricing them for a while and when I seen this one was surprised at the features and the price so I was excited. Went to check it out and was very impressed with what it had to offer and that it is expandable should I need more out of it. The size is perfect for me, not to big and not to small, great for surfing or playing games. So glad I shopped around and ended up with my toshiba !"

"I bought this laptop about a week ago and the past couple of days the computer has been shutting of then going to a blue error screen... Ive been trying to find a solution to this specific laptop but I still cant find out how to fix it. Ive already tried restarting it and holding the 0 (zero) and reseting everything; still nothing works, please can someone help me?

"Well I am on a fixed budget so I guess you get what you pay for. This is a nice computer but just pulled it out of the box and started it. I think it is the slowest starting and surfing computer I have ever had. It takes forever to get anywhere. I may have to take it back and pay more money for a faster machine. Or maybe I'm doing something wrong not sure...."
