"This model Satellite is a good buy, but it lacks some of the features you may think are standard: Only two USB ports. If you use a mouse like I do, you have one for your other stuff. I haven't tried using a multi-port USB on it yet... Barely adequate speaker system - even for listening to audio from online videos. Forget about music. I hooked up a pair of powered speakers through the headphone port. Not real fond of all the Toshiba utilities and tools; in process of uninstalling, but don't want to mess up something by doing so... Good stuff: nice keyboard with full 10-key numeric pad. Good screen size and quality graphics. Light weight. Adequate RAM and processing speed. Nice and easy-to-use webcam. Now the really bad: I think it came preloaded with some malware/virus stuff, but I can't be sure. Still working that issue as well...."

"The ins - I've never run out of battery life (I use it around the house though) it never overheated and I've only cursed it for being slow a couple of times which for me is pretty good. Webcam is the quality equivalent of a really cheap 30mm which means even under the best conditions it's not good. The facial recognition software is a hair pulling nightmare. It's got 2 USB and 1 VGA ports that are positioned in a way that results in a flash drive inserted in either slot being in danger of being damaged by the arm rests of my rather small recliner. Overall it'll perform the job I'll ask it to. I have a desktop and I knew that once the newness of the laptop wore off the laptop would see very light use which has been proven true. However, the first couple of weeks I had it tested it enough for my satisfaction. It has been put through it's paces by a user with two decades of experience and held up without ridicule. The outs - This is where it gets good. I smoke and I have pets and I really enjoy not having to worry about the laptop getting scratched or dirty. The outer part of the lid is a textured finish that resist scratches or dirt and doesn't pick up fingerprints all that bad. The same is true for most of the inside. The screen is a screen and the touchpad a touchpad. The keys are positioned comfortably and have a responsive feel to them. The cooling is very efficient exiting out of the back left hand side. The laptop itself is weighty no doubt but only to the point of assuring stability without interfering with portability. In the end - It's built and performs well. Mine sees light use after having it a little over a month. I have not yet had a problem with it and honestly do not expect it to. This is not the fastest or the cheapest. It's not the best at any single thing. However it is a very good collection of pieces, designs, and materials while still maintaining a reasonable price tag. It's a good choice."

"This laptop is light, has nice features but layout for peripherals is not the greatest. AC adaptor jack is where I would prefer to see one or two USB ports. Otherwise, this is an excellent unit and competitively priced."

"So far, so good! The only thing I wish wasis that I got the 15 inch laptop instead of the 17 inch. It is a bit unweildy for my lap. But it works well."

"The first model I purchased had a (defective) battery that would not work. Took back to store where I purchased and they replaced total package with the same model laptop and it seems to be working okay. I've always used a desktop so having to become familiar with touch of the keyboard and other differences. As long as the battery does not die on me completely, then I'll be satisfied with my purchase. Price was great and I am happy overall with my purchase."
