"So far, I hate Windows 8! Also my laptop reports high CPU usage with only the Chrome browser open. Does this thing have enough memory for ordinary web browsing? Also too much proprietary and trail stuff pre-installed."

"I have as yet, not figured out how to turn it off, so I just pull the battery, and that at least works, lol.My daughter took it upon herself to get me this Toshiba, and it works like a charm, very fast. What I dislike about it is the operating system. It is akin to the OS on a smart phone. It is very limiting in it's versatility. Oh, it's easy enough to use, but all of the features we have always associated with windows are no more. It's like windows for morons. Since that is what it is, I will have to get used to it, but I will probably never like it. I think that, by hook, or by crook, I will keep my desk top PCs as long as I can, because I do like the old XP OS best."

"Entry level PC. Has all the features you expect. Windows 8 updates began as soon as I connected to the internet. Some initial issues with keyboard delay. I think the updates helped because its gone now. Minor Realtek audio crackling. This did not occur in my prior non Windows 8 Toshiba. I am an AMD user. The E1 chipset is nice. Does not run as hot as my prior unit. Similar performance, No crashes or hang-ups. I recommend this unit."
