"The toshiba product is very good with the exception of the mouse pad. Mouse stops moving even though my finger didn't stop moving around on pad. I EXTREMELY HATE WINDOW 8. NOT USER FRIENDLY AT ALL."

"The machine itself is nice but the platform is really confusing to use. At times it switches pages and you can't figure out why or how to get back to where you were. I don't like that at all. In all though it is nice for the money I paid."

"Love the size and weight but very disappointed by speed. I forgot how slow the Celeron® chip is. However it was a real bargain for the price and we've had success with Toshiba in the past. Great durability."

"Let's be fair, for the price it's a good enough laptop with nice enough features, but honestly for a little more money you could get laptops way better than this one. The build is cheap (sometimes I feel the keyboard's are going to break apart) and the graphics performance is awful (forget about playing games on this laptop). However, it's good enough for regular, not too pushy use, if you're just going to browse the internet and watch videos or use video chat, etc. then this laptop is good enough, but it sucks for more demanding tasks like playing video games or such. As I've said, for a little more you could buy laptops with better specs, and performance capabilities than this one."

"Over all, I am happy with this laptop - for the price. I do not enjoy Windows 8 and I understand that it is not your product. It's just better suited for a touch screen. My only real concern is with the Mouse Pad. I find it to be far too sensitive. I either have to touch it around it's perimeter or plug in a mouse - which is not the reason that I purchased a laptop for."

"We've bought half a dozen Toshiba laptops over the last fifteen plus years. And they're all still working. That's why we keep buying them. My old 900 series Tecra that I've travelled with for years is about worn out though. So I bought this one to replace it. After using it a few times, I swapped it out with the one I've been using on my desk because I like the older smooth touchpad, "mouse" keys and the keyboard better on the older one. And on my desk I use a full size keyboard and trackball. So those things don't matter. It's a great machine for the money, with a surprisingly good built-in webcam and if you don't mind Windows 8, it's ready to go for a bargain basement price."

"good performance, not excellent since I continue receiving messages for High usage of disk.. the battery life is more than good and if you do an evaluation for price/performance this is an excellent option... maybe just need a little more of space in the hard disk and more processor for edition of videos...but for daily use and average consumer is outstanding..."

"I am enjoying my Toshiba Laptop, it has the last technology apps. I have taking the tour of the Microsoft office Power point, Excel, and Word. I had learned a lot I never know how to do a power point, it came in handy. I had to do a power point project for my class and work in excel (graphs). I have used some of the other features too."

"My application is, admittedly different, as I bought the laptop as a test system controller hoping to easily develop software to operate my test system. Windows 8 makes it SOOOOOOO hard to work with. Real computers should have and configuration option to turn off all the APPS and execute a custom APP with total control of the system. I understand they think WIndows 8 will be friendly to those with smart phones, but if they have a smart phone, why buy a laptop ? What I could do easily with Win XP is very difficult with Windows 8. This purchase made my job more difficult!!"

"I wanted to dual load my Satellite with Ubuntu. Wiindows went "flying out the window," so to speak, along with my wired connectivity and still don't have it back. If you intend to use this machine to install Linux, I would suggest that you buy another model, say a Portege R835-P92. I have had good service with that Toshiba."

"I was looking for a computer that would be used for facebook/skype for my 83yr old mother.. I have had 2 toshibia 's and felt It would be easy to teach.on Tochibia. IT came with no basic progams needs downloaded. Just Window 8. Would like to have option of Windows when buying. Keys stuck after 1 month. NOW The arrow KEY has Fallen OFF 2months later. My Father is dying and in house Hospice. This is there only way to keep in contact with Bro overseas. I do not want to take in fear they will need to send it out to be fixed. ."

"the lap to with windows 8 is very difficult to understand. it does not have powerpoint, or micro soft word. The mail is hard to understand and not as easy as outlook express 2007. It has many things bigginers don't need. I have and 7 year old toshiba with windows vista that is the best!!!"

"The only thing i found this laptop missing is some speed. Intel celeron is not the supreme option but for the money is a great entry level laptop that includes Bluetooth and thats a plus. I found some problems with apps crashing but nothing mayor. I actually recommended the laptop to some friends. Also it is ready to use out of the box. No recovery disk I found that strange thou."

"This thing won't allow Windows 7 Install with Windows 8 preloaded. Now restore image gone, can't get back to factory OS. Customer support has no solutions. No restore DVD available for order. Pain in my butt. Never have I had such a problem with a computer, and that's what I do for a living."
