"I gave up an IMac to use Toshiba w/windows 8, It is absolutely Horrible. The side bar pops up whenever it chooses, you can be in the middle of doing something and it will take you into something else or disconnect you. I wish I can throw this program and the computer out. For the money I paid it is not worth it at all. The battery is forever dying."

"With 4 gigs of ram, it could barely work. I increased it to 16 gigs, and it is now borderline acceptable. Can't stand Windows 8, and the browser is a joke. Does anybody try this stuff out before they sell it?"

"The computer was fine until I got a message recently that it was low on memory. I wasn't even running any programs, just a browser. I'm not tech savvy, but it seems wrong to me that I could be low on memory while just using a browser. My 7 yr old HP laptop never had that problem."

"I had previously had a Toshiba and hated the position of the battery. This one is great and after having a computer tech twik it, it is great. The only problem is Windows 7 and how many programs is not compatible, ie, Word Perfect, but I'm learning Microsoft Word...not really something I wanted to do at my advanced age."

"The overt performance is great. The problem that I have is the product listed with HDMI but in fact does not have one. The book provided even shows it. I bought this laptop as a gift for family that live outside of the USA and did not discover that it had no HDMI until I was out of the country. Very disappointed about the shortfall! All features on the laptop are great!"

"This is not my first Toshiba. I have loved them up to now.

"If you are thinking of buying a new computer for aging parents, please, be sure to stick with familiar technology! At 74 years old I was completely confused by this machine when I turned it on! It was two weeks of frustration! Couldn't even find the button to turn the thing off!
At the end of three weeks I am doing better, but older folk need some sort of booklet for the basics!"

"This is a pretty good little laptop for what I need. I don't like the unfamiliarity of Windows 8 and that there is no start menu for me to find some of my usual tools such as calculator, calendar, and notepad. For the price, it does what it says it will do. I use it for presentations to clients in their homes (insurance sales) and it works well for that. Very lightweight, good battery life, sufficient screen size. I have used it about 2 months now."

"My Toshiba Laptop performs well. It is a good email, small business machine However, it is not intended as a high end gamming computer. Its performance will improve with the addition of RAM. My machine is a 64 bit with 4 gigabytes of ram included. The internal speakers sound small. I have added a set of USB external speakers. The only feature I miss is an HDMI port which it does not have."

I did erase a lot of the apps that I knew I wouldn't use prior to use to free up more space. The only thing that drives me crazy is how sensitive it is. Flipping to another screen while I'm working. "So far very satisfied with my new computer. Have window 7 Pro installed on it and it great to use. For my use, personal use and college work it is good. I type a lot of papers, just wish the keys/keyboard was sturdier or lets say more solid, if that makes sense. I do notice that my left hand hits the keyboard cursor and sometimes messes my typing up. Wish there was a way to temporarily disable that."

"I got a fantastic deal on a Toshiba laptop at Best Buy. In my opinion, Toshiba makes a great laptop. The problem is, is comes with Windows 8. Windows 8 is the most problematic mess Microsoft has come up with, yet. It is too difficult to figure out, even with an excellent "how to" book and two days on the phone with tech support. Sadly, I decided to take my Toshiba laptop back and get another brand that still had Windows 7. I don't like this new laptop as much as I liked the Toshiba, but what good is a great laptop with an impossible operating system? Too bad, Toshiba."

"I keep having bad experiences. I can't get the Canon wireless printer to work as wireless on this computer. I have had experienced people try and they can't get it to work either. When I use email my typed paragraphs keep disappearing. This also happens when I am using Microsoft word on this computer. I can never find my data back and I need to start over. Now I am afraid to use Word for the important document I am trying to create. I can't find a telephone number where I can talk to a real person who preferably speaks English. My screen rolls away for no apparent reason."

"I bought this for the price knowing some reviews were bad but I gave it a chance. Conclusion- all terrible reviews are 100% accurate. Blue screen saying there was a problem with the pc and it needs to restart. Once it restarts it lost Internet connection so you need to shut off then then turn it back on. It would do that several times a day. If that's not enough, Internet explorer would shut down or there would be a problem with it so it would reboot. Then there would be high pc usage when I'm not even doing anything. The computer bogged down after the first day. Not worth a penny. Needless to say I returned it and went with a Dell. First time purhasing a Toshiba. Never again. Beware!"

"I have had this computer for about a month and am mostly satisfied. The only bad thing about it are that it is not for the video game savvy people but otherwise it's very good for the price.
Pros: Lightweight, decent preformance, good battery life
Cons: Kinda cheap feeling sometimes, bad preformance under strenuous muti-media programs
Over all I would recommend this computer for anybody's first computer and for anybody who enjoys basic media and music."

I got another one and I am thrown off apps when I'm in the middle of doing stuff. I am not happy with it at all. My husband has a Asus and hasn't had any of the problems that I've had with this one. "I have had six laptops in the last 15 years. this by far is the worst ever. the keys stick and I continually have to go back and retype and correct words that are missing several letters because the keys just don't work.

"I hate this laptop. EVERY time you move the mouse to the left no matter where its at on the screen the windows menu on the right of the screen opens up And a HUGE box with a clock in it opens on the left of the screen. May be a setting SOMEWHERE in the settings but haven't found it yet! Hate, hate, hate this laptop but don't have the money to throw it in the trash and buy a different brand. Bad choice of spending my money on this unit"

I think that your computers should be available with the buyers choice of:
Any flavor of Windows from XP Pro through 8!
Ubuntu (on the Linux side)!
Or, maybe even, Solaris 11!
Like I stated, great computer - WRONG OS!!"

"I bought this laptop recently and I had to return in after several weeks of use. From day one it was really slow. I thought it was just Windows 8 but after getting a new laptop from another brand I can tell it was just this particular laptop. We have a different Toshiba Satellite that is about 2 years old that we love. But this particular one is garbage. It can't handle all of the graphics of Windows 8. It won't play Youtube videos with out skipping. It blue screened the 2nd week I had it. I think the difference is that this model doesn't have Intel. They use AMD and it's just not near as fast as intel. I'm not a tech geek so that's about as informative as I can be about this issue. The hardware just can't perform fast enough for video and other graphics. Everything from the start up to shut down is insanely slow. I became so frustrated with this it didn't take long for buyers remorse to kick in. I'm happy with my new laptop but it's unfortunately not a Toshiba. I paid another $150 to upgrade to a manufacture with Intel technology."
