"i got this for technical school and running documents is about all it can do. between toshibas programing and amd, it refuses to let me update any major parts. i get a frame per second on youtube if i sit this on anything warmer than a sheet of metal. unless you plan on getting something for a kid to teach them how to upgrade later stay away. also after a few months i got a notification about drive failure on startup but its about something i dont even have and has no affect on what little performance this even offers"

"My dad bought this laptop in '09 and it does pretty good for the price. However, if you're looking for a great gaming laptop, this probably isn't the right one for you. It couldn't run most of my games without major lag spikes that went down to nearly 5 fps or less. It even went extremely bad on Minecraft, which I had thought would work on most laptops. However, when the lag is gone, it can run games at a great amount of fps. So the lag is not constant. The laptop also freezes up frequently and crashes once in a while. It will freeze, then stop responding for over 30 minutes until you're left with no other choice but the take out the battery and restart it. It also overheats a lot and made my room feel like an oven. I eventually got a cooler and the overheating problem was fixed. Next, though, the charger died randomly one day. I then got a new charger for a small price and it worked fine. Overall, this laptop has worked well enough to help me carry on with my school work and such. It's definitely not good for gaming, but I am not a heavy gamer so it isn't a major problem. It is a good laptop, but I've seen better. It starts getting the major problems at least a year after buying it."

"This does everything I want it to. Runs games and other software holds up to the abuse of being a family computer plus being carried to school. The only bad thing I can say about this laptop is that it came with norton once that was removed no trouble at all. I suspect that those that gave this a bad review don't know much about laptops."

"i've had it siince june 2010 and since i've never had a problem with it, i use it everyday the battery life is about 2 hours, but with some software it can last for more than 3 hours. for the performance it's incredible how this laptop can run big and new games such us Call Of Duty (mw1, mw2 and also mw3). for those who take care for their computers, this modest toshiba will be the best computer you have ever had;"

"I am a web designer. This computer has been my main computer for about a year. It overheats regularly and the battery life is about a hour. Hard drive and memory isn't a lot, but its ok for a basic computer. Overall, I would give it about a 3.5 out of 5. Haven't really had any problems except battery overheats and not enough memory."

"I think this laptop is an ok first laptop but if you're planing to be constantly taking this everywhere look somewhere else. On the "power-saver" setting makes it useless "balanced" takes a long time to respond and "high-performance" devours the power making the battery last on average 40min. on a full charge."

"I got this for Christmas 2010, And into January, i began to have problems. The frame on the front had broken off (fixed with duck tape ;D) Mid- July the mouse on the computer stopped working, so i started using one in a USB thing, then the USB things started to not work, so i only have one USB port thats works, its hard to save something on to a flash drive when your mouse doesnt work! i only use that laptop now for book reports for school, cuase thats about all it can be used for!! For me, someone who knows NOTHING, about computers, i dont think it works right.."

"I have had my laptop for over a year now and I have to say that the only problem I have ever had with it is that after the 6 mos. of Norton Antivirus that came installed expired I got a malicious virus and had to get it removed. Other than that I have nothing bad to say about my overall experience using this laptop. I do use it daily and keep it plugged in at all times. I love my laptop and am excited for many more years on it! I would recommend this product to my friends."

The bigest problem i have had is the screen. this is the second time i am repairing the screen on my laptop. and the battery life only last about 40-45 min. The and i have had to replace the charger. "For the price it's pretty good deal. Great for school work, web browing, office apps, burning cds and low quality youtube videos. As far as video and gaming go it's not that great but the ATI graphics helps a lot compared to intel based, battery life is only about 2hrs. The sempron CPU gave me bluescreens after a year and was the bottle neck of them system so I upgraded to a turion, after the upgrade it can run 1080 video smooth, gaming performance on older stuff like half life 2, dirt 2, portal 2 is decent now, ram, video and even drive speed picked up decent on experience index. My next laptop will probably be a much more expensive HP gaming laptop since I think they have solved the heat issue in their new laptops."

"I have had the laptop for a little over a year now. Initially, it only "skipped" curser places during keystroke entries. While it has served the basic PC needs, the laptop did have an issue with it at about the 6-month mark. The configurations had to be fixed ($$$) as performance speed became increasingly slow, but no viruses were found, in doing so, I lost some of the features. It has since involuntarily restarted and indications are I will have more issues soon."

"I got this computer about 3 to 4 years ago, I am currently 15 years of age, and I must say this is a good computer overall. The only problems I would have to say is about 45-60 minutes of batery life. So I keep it plugged in all the time no big deal for me. And if it is unpluged my wirelss connection will time out every five minutes or so. Performance wise is good, but I do 3D modeling and Texturing and this isn't the computer for doing that kind of stuff. So now I'm going to upgrade it with more RAM and maybe put a new Processor in it to make it faster and smoother when running bigger programs that I use. So overall if you don't use big programs like I do for 3D modeling and Texturing, and only mainly for watching videos (no big internet ones, downloaded ones) listening to music, surfing the web, and don't mind leaving your laptop plugged in all the time this laptop is for you."

"Okay , so I'm 14 years old and I received this laptop for Christmas . at first i loved the laptop , because I was happy I received one .. but it is now July going on August and I am starting to see the problems . the battery life is about 45 minutes if I'm using the internet , which really gets on my nerves . Also , one of my USB is broken , the other port won't work & the other one has too little power to work . Overall this is not the computer to get when you are going through your high school years . I am grateful , but I'm hoping for a mac next year . ."

"Got this Laptop september last year. So far, two of the three USBs has stopped working and my right click is dead. Its design is ok but Its way too fragile. Apart from the physical issues, It got extremely slow after some few days of usuage and I could'nt play My favorite 3D games on it. Baterry life is horrible; Less than an hour. Even my previous 1Gig RAM laptop outperforms this 1.75GB RAM laptop And It's got webcam and bluetooth too! Still wondering why .25 of the RAM of this L455D isn't usuable. If you're a student like me, seriously, don't buy this laptop!"

"Im only 16 years old, and ive had three laptops, this laptop is the worst one. I really enjoy how crisp the screen is, battery life is 45 minutes when i use internet, its very poor. Also, my disk drive (idk if thats what its called the place you put disks in) stopped working, it says, not enough memory to read disk, or error everytime, i barely even use this laptop for anything just my itunes laptop :[ And its crashed and erased my music 3 times, ive had it with this laptop, the keyboard falls apart, three of my keys wont stay on and others are beginning to feel loose. Not worth the price, you can find a better laptop for the same price or lower"

"This laptop is ok for people who dont really NEED a computer, and just surf the web casually. But for anyone that uses their computer for school and things of that nature, I do NOT suggest it. I am 14 years old and got this laptop for my 13th birthday, and within 6 months I was having issues. Initially with the battery, then with the video partitions. Personally, I dislike all things Windows, not just Toshiba. I will always, from now on, stick to Mac products. Though they are more expensive, they have everything you could ever need and are always reliable."

"Im 14 at the moment and i got this laptop for my birthday not to be ungrateful but i rlly didnt want this laptop. 2 gb is hardly enough for use for more than 2 yrs for schooling, gaming,and chatting. Ive only used the laptop 4 times on battery itself since its so short i usually keep it on the charger. The system itself is smooth overall. Maxes out on everything i bring up. The keyboard isnt sturdy my right and left click are about to come off. It would be best to compensate couldve atleast given 4gb and faster processer."

"The CPU for this computer is extremely substandard. I have a 3 year old dell that i payed less money for that out performs this computer. My wife plays a Cafe game on face book and it maxes out the CPU while playing a flash game. "I bought this laptop for my son who is a Marine in Afghanstain. I mailed it over there and when he opened it out of the box there were some keys missing and the box on back was busted but he had no choice but to use it like it was because that was only way he had to communicate with his son and it takes so long to mail it back to me then i mail to toshiba and so on but after a month of use it shut down saying boot manger missing go tit today got call toshiba for repair tomorrow and hes so upset hes setting in Afghanstan with noway to communicate with his son and want have till i send this off to get fixed and then mail to him it will probally takes couple months to get all done wish I had laptop to go ahead and mail to him I am so upset with toshiba my son sitting over there fighting for us and now have noway to communicate with his family especially his 2 year old"

"Laptop was given to me at Christmas. I am now back at college after 30 years. I have had several computers over the years new, and old. Never have I had one where MS Word was not included. I live out of town and going back to school could afford Internet right away. Imagine my frustration when after working 3 days on a thesis paper I was no longer able to access it in any way in ANY way. I was aware that it was threatening me with 'limited' use of the program that was No use and I could not believe it. I had a lovely laptop given to me by my very elderly mother, aunt and uncle for school and What value was it???? They where embarrassed and I was quite unhappy! Other than that.. The battery is a nuisance and certainly not a selling point! I like the sleek look it is easy to work with. The Toshiba "Cards" and some of the things it does come with are strange. All in all for the money I am happy with it. I use it for hours a day some times it slows down a bit but always recovers Windows 7 is what makes it all work."

"I like this laptop, but it has a lot of mistakes. As in the battery life is really low. Mine will only last for about 45 minutes before shutting off. Also the computer it self is falling apart. My keyboard is coming off also the screen is falling off, and the sound key is broken. My friend has the same one and it works fine, maybe its just a 'lemon' but if i was you, i would look into other laptops."

"I got a virus onto my computer one morning and had no idea what to do!! It wouldn't let me open anything and I was afraid I would lose everything! "This is the worst. It will not always load up the internet, when it does load it up it takes a long time. Windows had to configure, which took over 4 hrs. will not load up its own programs. Very, very sad when it is a christmas gift for Son, and does not work. Hopefully we can return it,since it has been over 15 days when we purchased it. This does not even deserve a smidgen of a star. Spent a weeks worth of wages for nothing but heart ache."

"I have to double and triple check every thing I write on this laptop because it skips letters all the time. A typewriter could do better! Also, you can't use the "Back" key to go back at all. It just does not work! I can't believe you actually sell this product. Also, the cursor constantly jumps around the screen. It refuses to be controlled. I plan on trying to return it to the store."

"My old computer finally crashed. needed a good reliable laptop at a good price. I'm retired and on a fixed income. This Toshiba was what I was looking for. It has worked flawlessly since I got it. My only complaint is, I wish they had put extra USB ports on the back side. I use a wireless mouse and having a USB wire coming out the side where my mouse is is a little annoying. Thats the only flaw I have come across."

"so far, its been an easy to use right out of the box laptop. User interface is real friendly and first time setup is even easier. it does a minor issue with minor Microsoft updates and some kinds of anti-virus programs such as AVG and Nortons. The laptop does have a small issue with being on for several hours on the ac adapter, being shut down and then being restarted. it has had a tendency to want to boot into full scan disk as if it had a problem. its a minor inconvenience but nice to see that if win 7 detects a problem, it can self fix without no user actions required. Battery life decent but it could be a little closer to what is stated. So far i have managed to only get about 1 1/2 to 2 hours on the battery as compared to the 3 1/2 stated. I'm also just a little concerned that if you have a major problem and you need to restart the laptop from out of box new, there are no system discs provided although you have the option to create them if you are computer savvy enough to know where to look. Otherwise, its a excellent starter laptop for anyone who is new to using a laptop."

"I've had a Toshiba before and it was great. Someone messed up their repair of it - I think he spilled something on it by mistake and it was "Bye-bye" Toshiba, but I'm back for more! It's a good, tight computer and doesn't feel as if it's going to fall apart if you type on it a bit too quickly. I love all the features on it - there are plenty that I haven't even gotten to yet. I use it for home and school where I teach students with learning disabilities how to use computers - most especially Word and Excel. It's a great "machine" for that because it goes so much, Much, MUCH faster than the school computers. That's why I've been taking in a computer to school for 9 years - they just got me my own desktop - brand new - but it doesn't beat my Toshiba!"

"the keys are too sensitive and the key board jumps around. It is very difficult to find the answers to a question in the help section because you are referred to other places. I am not dumb but to use this system you must think like the programmers and know what they know to find the answers. "There isn't much to say. Toshiba builds great laptops, even very basic ones like this one. I got it for the sole purpose of running just one program, so it fits my needs just right. It's no speed demon by any means, but it's built well and it was inexpensive and it runs the one program I'm using it for just fine. The 32-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium is a big plus!"

"This laptop is excellent for the money. I do not play games but surf extensively. The only thing I have found is that there is a delay in the letters appearing on the screen when typing. Sometimes I have to retype things. I talked to computer repair guys for which laptop they recommend. They all recommended Toshiba. So I bought two for my kids in college. The laptops lasted all four years (through parties and dormatories) and they are still using them. Being a Reliability Electrical Engineer that was good enough for me. When I retired last month and needed a laptop, to travel and work consulting on the road, I wanted a rugged enough computer to carry with me everywhere. I knew that this Toshiba would do it."

"I did some online research and looked at customer reviews before I made my purchase. I wanted a Toshiba because they are currently a leader in this genre. The only drawback was with the Norton Internet Security program that was pre-installed. When I set it up and had to reboot the laptop, I couldn't access my wireless network because of a program glitch. If you want Norton, download it from the website instead of messing with the pre-installed; you'll need tech support in order to disable it. Other than that minor inconvenience, it works great. Until this purchase, I was an exclusive desktop user, so getting used to using a laptop would have been a challenge no matter which one I purchased. But the transition was easy. I like the keyboard because the keys function similarly to a desktop keyboard. The only thing that's missing is the number pad, which I don't miss."

"This Toshiba computer turns on fast and doesn't seem to have as many glitches as some other computers. It doesn't come with microsoft word, it comes with a trial package of microsoft word, which fusses with you and is only good for a number of days. My left clicker worked hard, finally got stuck, and now works well if I use the right end of it. Overall I am very satisfied with it! Great price too."

"We have wanted a laptop for awhile so that when we travel, we could still check our email and communicate with family. I just recently had back surgery and have been on bedrest. my husband decided that he would get me one so that I would stay in the bed and let myself heal. It worked. I can still check email and play games without having to get up. It keeps me from going crazy being in the bed all of the time. We chose Toshiba because it was cheaper than the others and we could afford it. I am very happy with the choice. It performs great and definitely serves the purpose."

"The first couple of weeks we used it it worked great and was fast. Then don't know what hppened but we keep losing internet connectivity. Think it is our router because we'll push reset on it and then it's ok. I'm new at this and everything is new so don't really know whats wrong. But the Toshiba laptop seems to work great."

"Start-up was very easy. Turned it on and it was pretty much ready to go right out of the box. The only downside is the short battery life and the speakers are difficult to hear due to lack of volume. This can easily be overcome by using external speakers or headphones All in all this is a great value for a reasonable price for the average user."

"This is the second Satellite I have owned and you would think Toshiba would have fixed the issue of prro contacts on the keys. When you type you can be sure that there will be missing charactors. Also, this computer flashes a blues screen with some technical writing then restarts."

"i bought a satellite L455D-S5976 , they didnt give me any driver cd they told me to make it recover ok but when i changed to xp problems started tooks my 5 days to find few of xp drivers still got problem. they should make a site like hp to download drivers or the softwares like in windows 7 coz many features of my laptop is missing like wireless FN keys network adapters i have to formated 3 times this new laptop to connect to internet. this laptop nothing but wasting time if anyone wants to buy just dont ."

"Its got a fast processor for a single core. A.M.D .chips are the best. I love the H.D. true brite display, its great for movies. An games run faster and look better. Its light weight almost feels like the case is empty compared to other laptops.The memory is also upgradable, which is awesome. "I was very happy with the performance of this laptop, and how it ran. Very easy setup, great features. I only have a few complaints. The sound isn't that loud unless you have headphones on, and the fact that when I got the laptop I had to download a free trial of microsoft, i.e. microsoft word, powerpoint, excel, and now I'm having trouble getting microsoft permanently on my laptop. Other than that it's a great laptop. Love to watch movies on it."

"I am pleased with my new lap top. I took 3-4 years researching brands and prices of laptops. I finally decided on this laptop because it was the right price for what I need it. I did think it had a camera because that was one of my requirements, but forgot to check in the specifications on this one before I purchased. So I'm disappointed in that because communicating with my relatives out of the area is a priority. The only thing I didn't learn in my research was the software I would need like privacy protection and warranty protection, in case it gets broken, or crashes etc. I don't have that additional money right now, and therefore wouldn't have purchased it at this time. Those things are very important - vital even! So think about factoring those things in when you purchase. I just hope the reputation that Toshiba has is true and I won't have to worry about a crash. I will have to purchase Spy ware or Nortell for privacy protection. Thank you."

"This is my third Toshiba Satellite. My first one still works just fine, and my second has become the household computer, after I wrote and edited a book on it. This one is now my working computer. If I were to register a complaint it would not be with the computer at all, it would be with Microsoft, arguably the worst OS in the universe. "I needed a laptop to surf the web, watch online movies and DVDs and do some word processing, so I wanted a machine that could move through web pages pretty quickly, would load movies and videos pretty fast and could open and close windows and Word docs at a reasonable speed. I also wanted something with a screen large enough I wouldn't have to squint to see stuff. This laptop does all of that. The movement from one window to the next is very smooth, the visual of whatever is on the screen is crisp and colorful and of good quality. I haven't watched any videos yet, but websites load very quickly and are easy to track. The sound quality on this has been fine--no complaints there (but I also don't blast my volume). The only thing is that the battery doesn't last as long as the icon says, but it easily got me about two hours on one charge. I love this laptop and would highly recommend it to anyone else. I would also purchase it again."

"Toshiba needs to include an actual Windows 7 recovery disc with every laptop. I had windows crash upon itself, so I went to restore windows back to out-of-box state, and it crashed. Then windows was completely gone from my laptop. If I had had an actual disc for windows, it would have solved many many problems."

"I've had a Toshiba laptop in the past; while about 8 years ago, I hope that the quality has changed. In that circumstance the MoBo faulted twice, once for the ethernet port and another for the power adaptor connection - each required a full MoBo replacement. The price is great for this model, I only plan on using it for media in the entertainment room. The screen isn't huge, but that doesn't matter when I output media to the 50 inch LCD TV. One drawback I noticed was sound quality via USB. I had static in the output, and I had to reduce the sound output quality to "FM" as opposed to the default "CD." This isn't a big deal, I haven't noticed the issue with DVDs or other media, only through USB output. As with any laptop not purchased with software options, it comes with a lot of what I consider useless applications. Took a while to clean it up to my specs. Also consider the MS Office apps are all trial versions, hope you have your own copies. Again, decent comp for the price, and I was in need of one quickly as my other laptop died on me. This is still a fairly good upgrade to a laptop that was about 4 years old. Not sure how I recommend it for quality gaming, as I have a desktop rig for that reason. Good luck with your purchase options."

"I enjoy very much my new Toshiba, purchased specifially for attending online schooling. I have found it very easy to use, very imformative, wonder alerts and tutorials making it very easy for someone like me who is not exactly technologically advanced to learn to use the various features and programs. I have found also, it is very easy to be able to access wireless internet access; without having to have extra equipment and/or complicated routes to take to be able to do so. "save your money and up grade to a more better one, you get what you paid for, it made out of plastic like my kids toys, for every 2 to 3 keystrokes I have to redo it cause it did not take in the 1st place. this with never last long, just made to cheap and the letters will just wear off. "Both my husband and I have this model Toshiba. I love everything about it. The only downfall is the battery only last 1.5-2.0 hrs when not plugged in. I would like at least a 4 hr. battery life. Otherwise, all other features are a 10. Thank you Toshiba."

"little short on RAM but you get what you pay for. the hinge design forced you to place various connections all around the computer, left right and front... the headphone and mic jack are in front of touch-pad making the touch-pad hard to use when using headphones/mic, not to mention the laptop was designed for right handed person. Cords coming out the right for power plus cords coming out front for headphones/mic plus network connection on left make for a very messy setup with cords going every direction. I love windows 7 but i can't give Toshiba any credit for that, unless y'all get serious about ergonomics and making required connections less obtrusive i will be looking to different manufacturer next time. the hinge design on the L455D is neat bit it sacrificed more important features."

"As a former purchaser of Toshiba, I was eager to get my second laptop. However, right from the get go, it lacked performance speed and after 14 days, I got the "blue screen". It did recover after a reboot, but it spooked me so I returned it. I went back to using my old Toshiba Satellite M45 and reformatted the hard drive, updated the drivers and installed XP Pro as OS. I am now happy again with my Toshiba"

"I like this computer except for the battery life. Everytime I unplug the laptop from the wall then I use it, it only stays charged for about 45 minutes to 1 hour. And on the box it said that the laptop is suppose to hold a charge for about 3 to 4 hours and it doesn't. So that irritates me."

"I love my new toshiba laptop but the only problems that I am having is when I shut it down and turn it back on. When I shut my laptop down and turn it back on it will not go to my login page. I have to go to the F1 feature when it comes on and then the F8 button and go to the last known good configuration to even get my login page to even come up. "I was seeking a laptop for browsing the internet, ripping/burning/managing music, and other such casual purposes. This machine is up to par on all fronts. "Would have preferred to have intel but AMD Athlon isn't bad for the amout of ram and harddrive. Somehow programs needs to be simplified more so use is easier. In other words windows that stop you from doing something should be bigger for older people to read easier as well. Literature with this computer didn't tell you about the product code for windows office and that should be addressed so access to documents is easier. Size of unit fits my life style and it is secured at my home. Would have bought a beefier unit had I been able to afford it and this is my second Tosheba Satellite. Over all am pleased to be a customer of this unit."

"The best laptop I have ever bought for the price. If you add another gig of RAM it will scream right along with most apps. 2 gig is just a little light with a single processor on Windows 7. "These programs are a nuisance. The Office program and antivirus program should be part of the laptop sytem. Whenever you log in they have a screen popup annoucing the ending of the trial time and getting you to buy it. From day one when it is install until it runs out this popup comes on."

"I bought this laptop and realized after the fact that its running a single core processor for windows 7. Most computers now run Duel processors. Due to the single core this makes running multiple programs at once a pain. Even if you add more ram to the computer it still has some lag even if all you're doing is iTunes and Facebook. If I could do it over I wouldn't buy this laptop again."

"It seems to have some opions that are intalled but do not work like I thought they would. There are no gold key numbers too intall programs, you must use the serial numbers that it does not accept and then things are limited as far a working because they are only good for a short time. The Nortons virus scan is only for a very short time unlike others that usually are good for a year. It is loaded with programs that is of no good for the average user, that makes it run way to slow. It trys to control things that I do not wish it too do ????????????? Over all I am not sure about it yet!!!!!!"

"...about your needs. I use mine for online banking, keeping up with different news web sites, email and so on... I run a very heavy name brand security system but made use of the built in MS Works program rather than go full tilt w/MS Office... So my thoughts on the machine as purchased w ONLY 2mg of ram - really guy's how much trouble to load 4 mg on a machine capable of holding 8... For me I think the machine is a value again know what you want to do because for all its good points off the shelf it won't do well if you expect it to do heavy lifting."

"When I purchased my Toshiba I already had a fairly new mini laptop. I wanted a second laptop because the mini did not have a cd or dvd drive. This Toshiba was priced in my range and it is working well for me. The only draw back so far is the Toshiba screen does not generate the same deep rich colors as my mini laptop which is made by HP. "I'm a self-taught computer user, meaning that I've pretty much learned a PC on my own, but I have learned other valuable info at work and by just experimenting here at home. This is my first experience using a laptop. I bought it because of Toshiba's reputation. But I don't like the way the cursor scoots around the screen without being manipulated by my using the mouse. Also, I would have preferred having Windows XP, that is on my desktop computer, which I'm using. I'm probably just used to XP, but I do try to get used to Windows 7. The way I have to close out a window is kind of spooky - sometimes when I just place the cursor over the "X" and don't click on it immediately, the window closes without my having to click on it. (Sometimes I change my mind about closing the window, but NO, I'm not fast enough.) There are a couple of other things that I can't recall right off-hand, but you do have a very nice product, and I might buy another one."

"i have owned a few laptops. my daughter in law purchased a Toshiba(different model) and i was very impressed with it. i have owned this one for almost a month and i am very pleased with its performance. i also am very pleased with windows 7 home premium and am looking into upgrading my desktop which has vista home premium. the only draw back is there is no numerical keyboard on the left side just the norm. i would definitely purchase another Toshiba and recommend to my friends."

"This is a great laptop. It has a screen bigger than others and alot of typing space. Although it doesnt have a webcam or mic built in its fairl easy to find 1. If your buying a laptop for musical purposes I wouldnt recommend this because it has a poor sound card transfer. This laptop gets maybe 2 hours and 30 minutes of battery life. The olny problem i have had with this laptop is i have a dead pixi its not a big deal but it is unfixible and quite annoying, also internet explorer 8 has had trouble with opening facebook, but thats a ie problem not toshiba. This laptop is fairly skinny, and has 3 usb ports. But it has 3 vents and starts VERY COLD. In my 3 days of using this computer it has never gotten hot. It comes starderd with windows 7 which is great, and runs smooth. It is also durable hard to scratch and is littterrally prone to fingerprint except the screen but thats with every screen. The screen doesnt scratch at all but does shoe fingerprints. The wifi pick p and set up is great and it almost doulbles your coverage. I like this computer, and recomind it to students and teachers."

"Its a good laptop for its value. Registration/1st use is easy. Features like the font are very block-like and old school. Would like more trendy, high tech features. The start menu is not the easiest thing to navigate due to the stacking. Keys stick periodically and I havent had the laptop for 45 days yet. Came fully loaded - good. Seems to slow down occassionally but can run many applications (ie Internet tabs, programs, etc) simultaneously."

"My husband got me this for Chrismas after getting me a very expensve laptop that did not work after 2 days. So we exchanged it for the same on and after 2 hours it didn't work. I went with him and we picked this one. It is made better, thicker, and all out tough! I droped this once from thetable when my baby girl grabed me one day and IT is still working with NO issues!! I love the easy to see screen, and It works well for work, persoal or just play. I tell everyone I see out looking to get this or another Toshiba. My dad has one of the very first Toshibas ever made, yes its abit slow now but still works well and i hooked to my ethernet! My friends or children use that when they need to borrow the Net =) When I out grow this Meaning when its old and my oldest child is ready for one she will get this one ANd I will be buying only TOSHIBA!! I just love this lap top, I just wish it were all silver or they had all black. That is my only complaint! LOVE THIS LAPTOP WONDERFUL PRICE FOR WHAT YOU GET!! WOULD PAY MORE FOR IT IF I HAD TOO!!"

"I really do like the Laptop for a computer. However, when I went to use it in the car to play a movie on it the sound was horrible. The laptop was purchased December 27 or 28 of 2009 and so I took it back to exchange it and they told me even though I had not had the item for 30 days I would have to send it back to you. It sounds like the speakers are blown and I cannot find a way to adjust them. The store where it was purchased does not have any on display where you can here the sound when purchasing and had I of known it would sound the way it does I more than likely would never have bought it. I bought it for the DVD Player, for Work projects and for Travel. I also purchased it because of the way this model looks. Its appearance is really what sold it to me. Would I recommend it to someone else? That I do not believe I would unless I told them to listen to the sound on it first to make sure it is what they wanted. Is there anything you can do to help me with my problem? If they all sound the way mine does then NO I would not recommend it to anyone. I would tell them not to buy anything like this before listening to it first. HELP ME IF YOU CAN!"

"This is my first lap top pc so it's hard to judge based on that fact. Compared to my desk-top this thing smokes it. The buttons are easy to navigate with and the screen is big and easy to read. About the only draw back with this lap top that I've found is the location of the USB ports. I wish they were placed towards the back of the pc. It makes it more difficult to use a wireless mouse since the plug sticks out close to the bottom of the pc and that's where one typically uses a mouse. Great computer for the price.. I would recommed this.."

"My Desktop computer was coming to an end, and I had been looking for a laptop for about 6 months. I got this as a gift from my fiance's Grandmother and I have to say hands down AMAZING. Its fast for what I need it to do and looks beautiful. I am on the computer everyday doing everyting from email to chatting with friends on social networking sites, and This is excellent for that. I just wish the battery life would last longer than it does, but The charger is long enough for me to sit comfortably on the couch or at my desk or lay in bed and still surf the web... 5 stars! I would absolutly recommend this laptop to anyone. :)"

"It's an good laptop overall. Toshiba is noted for a laptop that lasts and so I was surprised that a week after I got it my HDD already started clicking. It has very little heat problems (So far) even though everyone elses Toshiba (We have three including this one) has heat problems. I use mine primarily to surf the web and play older games. Arcanum, Age of Empires 3, and a laundry list of 2001 - 1985 games and most work without a flaw (besides obvious compatibility issues with the OS). I.M.O. it was definitely worth the price."

"I've had a Toshiba laptop before that I liked so I bought this one as a replacement. The price was excellent and overall this is a great laptop. The battery life is less than desirable and the touchpad is a difficult to disable without also disabling the keyboard. Toshiba's DVD player is much better than Windows Media Player, and it really is a great laptop. The keyboard is a little small but larger than many others. The screen and picture quality are fantastic. I frequently watch movies and am very impressed with the High Def quality. I would and have recommmend this laptop to others."
