"I had two previous Toshiba laptops (which is why I chose another one this time). The others were purchased in 2001 and 2004. I don't find this keyboard as easy to use as the previous two. It may take longer to get used to it."

"I bought this laptop with the intention of installing a Linux distribution on it for my operating system. It has on-board video support, so I knew I wasn't going to be doing much gaming on it at all. It would also be a way for me to step away from my desktop, which I do run games on. The installation of Linux went flawless and everything works normally, except for one thing that I would really love to work. That is that the battery monitor does not work on Linux, so I don't have a good way to know how well the battery is working or how much time is left. I've researched this issue quite extensively and it appears that it's an issue with all Toshiba laptops running Linux operating systems. Many different distributions, running many different versions of the kernel, just do not work with the Toshiba BIOS and report properly. I would not recommend this laptop, or any Toshiba laptop for those that are interested in running a Linux distribution as your primary/only operating system. On the other hand, if you want a great laptop to run the native installation of Windows, and don't care about running intensive games. Then I would totally recommend Toshiba for others."

"This unit came setup with my exact needs with a very reasonable price tag. Have a mobile business so unit gets bounced around pretty good and it holds up great. Would not think of using a different brand."

"I'm having a very hard time getting the wireless mouse I bought with this computer to work, I tried with the cd supplied and web site. It doesn't connect to the bluetooth"

"This has been flawless until the DVD/CD player went bad. Still under warranty. It was a no hassle tech support. It took 8 days from shipment to return and the laptop is perfect now. Love the tech support and expedited repair. I shall highly recommend a Toshiba."

"So far, everything is great except for the touchpad. Sometimes it is impossible to use, the scroll will not work, the cursor hangs up and I end up getting the mouse."

"My church need a new computer for our overhead projector system. We want to get the most and best system we could for a good price. And Toshiba was a home run in what we wanted. The computer works great, and the support has be very helpful. Thank You Toshiba"

"720p HD is great for watching Netfix i3 processor is ok for the price but wish i had the money for an i5 or i7 Face recognition is cool but even a non typer can put in a password and log on faster. Voice regonition is really nice it just takes a little time to learn how to use it Web cam works wonderfully Could use a back light key board, it is hard to see the keys with just the light from the screen I wanted to get a Blue tooth mouse until I found out you can't use Blue Tooth and Wi-Fi at the same time The stereo speakers are nice but I don't hear well and wish they were louder The one glitch it has is the Windows Media player will not rehide the progress bar and tools at the bottom of the screen once you unhide them. Overall this is a very good deal for the price as i did much shopping before i made this purchase. I just hope that the quality is there and I can get years of service from the device"
