"This is a sleek, fast and powerful PC. The only issue is that the battery life is just awful. I followed the instructions to let it completely run down to set the point of the battery check... but I only get a few hours without any heavy duty work. Extremely disappointing.
I have spent the past few weeks setting it up as close to my XP machine as I could get it. It will be my primary computer in a few weeks, so I got it earlier than I needed to do this. Windows 7, so far, doesn't seem to offer too many advantages but oh well.
I bought this from Toshiba so I didn't know what it looked like before I received it. I am really pleased with the appearance. I would trade some of that off for better battery life, though.
The monitor wasn't quite as crystal clear as some of the Toshiba notebooks I saw in computer stores. That was disappointing. But it was a great price and offered the tech specs I need.
It will be interesting to see how I feel about it in a year."

"I have been useding Toshiba Labtop for the last 15 years befor that was dells the toshiba nice conputer. but I have have touble with my labtop after a year I would like to know more about the conputer and the working on the inside as well as windows I read the but it dose not help with some of the problem with it so when the waranty dose I have to do with out for a while until I save money to bye one. "We researched many manufactures and selected Toshiba. However, the product did not hold up to the promise and we had to return two machines both for the same issues. Graphic problems, hard drives freezing up etc. All within the 1st week of shipment. Very disappointing and a waste of time."

"My Toshiba laptop of 2005 has always worked for me wherever, whenever, however and forever. Friends and family noticed my laptop how bright and fast it worked and some had beg me to give it to them when I get a new one. I have no intention to part with it though."

"This is the 3rd Toshiba laptop I've purchased in the last 3 years. This one I bought for my young daughter and after we received it, her grandmother and another friend also bought new Satellites (Grandma previously was a Mac only user too!). You just can't beat the quality, features and value. I was especially surprised by how light this model was. Not sure what point there is in going down the netbook or even a tablet path with this type of full featured, lightweight laptop available."

"Our labtop replaced a 8 yo desktop - what a difference! We've been very happy with the performance and the ability to do all the things that we've done previously plus more. Setup and getting started was easy. Continuing user experience has been great. We are getting a lot of automatic updates - not sure if that will continue or if we are just catching up."

"Toshiba Satellite L650-ST3NX1 gives efficient reliable performance as whole. The multimedia is no doubt acceptable, but the sound is not that loud but very soft and clear. Batteries give life time a little less than satisfied. The processor is top. Laptop finishing is so sensitive so you need to keep it clean please. Enjoy it for reasonable price you enter high tech world."

"Excellent computer with all the features I need and want. Backlit keyboard very handy and screen clarity is excellent. There are some confusing (or missing) instructions such as which of the USB ports is 3 rated rather than 2. I have had two other brands and the Toshiba is ahead of the others by far."

"This is my second Toshiba and so far, I'm very pleased. Just took a few minutes to customize to my liking...such as disabling Norton (I have another virus protector) and the "pinch" sizing function can be annoying, but easily disabled. Overall, it fits my needs very well.
My only complaint is that the keys are flat and much larger than my older PC which make them more difficult to type on...guess I just have to get used to it."

"This laptop suits my needs very well. I wanted it mostly for a portfolio for my artwork and to watch videos, along with general internet use. It's totally met my needs.
I would be happier if the battery lasted longer but fortunately it charges very quickly and I'm usually near an outlet to use the adapter anyway.
I also bought the carrying case bundle and am glad I did.
Altogether, I'm very happy with this purchase."

"The battery life on this computer is the best of anything I have owned so far. I like the speed of the processor. The touch pad is a little hard to get used to and I have already installed a wireless mouse. I have not learned how to use the built in camera yet so I can't comment on that. Overall so far I am very pleased."

"Got 2 new Laptops for My Kids the price is perfect. Always used Toshiba and their laptop are always reliable 100 times better than Dell aka disposable computers....Good for Kids but for a tech savvy like me I use the Tecra. The only thing I don't like is the finger prints need to be redesign the shell your fingerprints are all over the laptop."

"My husband had been patiently limping along on his old little Toshiba. It worked perfectly the whole time he used it (and travelled the world with it) but, it was out of date. He was still using Windows XP on it. He likes the bigger screen and faster speed."

"I am a computing novice; I picked this laptop based on Toshiba's #1 reputation for reliability, and with input from friends and PC World reviews for the features I should look for. I sprung for the I3 core processor and 500GB RAM, so I can't speak for the base Satellite but I can definately recommend the upgraded version. Easy to set up, easy to use, and compared to what I was using before, this thing is stupid fast."

"I was looking to replace my old Toshiba which after 5 years was a little slow and outdated. I'd say I'm the average user - daily internet use, skype, etc and a fair amount of work from home stuff like Excel, Word, etc. I don't use it for games and i'm not watching movies on it. For the price this model gets the job done and then some. It's fast and easy to use. The screen is brilliant and I could definitely see myself utilizing more media than I do now. The speakers are average quality though, and the keyboard is a little awkward... the keys feel very close together. BUT those things aside I'd still buy this one again."

"first Intel laptop wanted something that was very fast that looks great with good processors. and this L650 does just that. i love how its finger print resistant its really cool and has cool little box designs that almost make it look like carbon fiber. its exceptionally lightweight and has great audio. easy setup and am liking windows 7. once again great laptop great price for what your getting (new I3 dual processors est. 2.53 Ghz)"

"Laptop works great. Definitely worth the price. Read a few reviews on other Toshiba's with people complaining about the touchpad.....if it is anything like this one...it works just fine. A lot of people like using a mouse so they aren't use to the touchpad. I have always preferred the touchpad and this one works like any other I have used. Battery life is really good. Only thing I did first thing was uninstall Norton....slows any computer way down. I use another anti-virus software that doesn't slow the computer down."
