"The most optimistic and initially happy I have ever been with a computer, however; the thing overheats and i don't even leave it on, the built-in programs are in conflict with my multi-purpose use of the computer. I do graphic design, social media networking, photo editing and statistical book keeping. This computer is awesome as long as you don't want to download anything new because your ability to multi-task while downloading is nil."

"I cannon understand why the touchpad is in the center of the unit. I have to turn the computer counterclockwise and twist my right hand to use it. It is very unconfortable."

"This is an averaged end user system. With the i3 dual-core processor, the system is capable of handling most applications with ease. The lack of USB ports (only two) makes it necessary to purchase an additional USB hub. While there is a Toshiba USB station available for purchase, the low reviews and extra desk space necessary make it less than ideal. The laptop does not have docking station capabilities, which may have been better. Also, the lack of a DVI port makes use of HD graphics to many external monitors difficult. There is an HDMI port, but I have little use for it. Finally, all the ports are on the side, with nothing in the rear, making the cables "snaking" out of the side (video, power, usb, headphones) an eyesore.
Overall, the system is a good value for the average user, capable of handling most games, programs/applications, internet browsing, music, movie watching, etc. The other positive is the low weight, for a 15" laptopFor the more advanced user, a system with higher processing power, dedicated graphics, and additional ports would be a better way to go.
This system was purchased for me through an outside government/education contract and would (not what I would have selected), and I will probably end up giving it to one of my sons (under 10) or to my wife (mostly does browsing and simple online arcade games)."

"shopped around for some time before purchasing a laptop. was told that toshiba had less problems than the others. It was at a great price as well.
wanted mobility in a computer as opposed to being stuck in a corner for hours away from my husband on a desktop. I personally enjoy the 17 in screen. It's a well made, attractive and substantial unit. I'm enjoying my new laptop very much and would recommend it to anyone."

"I'm very happy with my new Satellite L675, but my 79 year old fingers don't like the touch pad, so I'm using a mouse.
My only complaint is the usb ports at the front of the machine in front of the disc drawer. That's a real dumb place for it. The wire from whatever you plug in goies right in front of the drawer. Mine is a 17" model, so it's not real handy for carrying around, but I don't move it much anyway."

"I have been using this laptop for a little over 5 months now. Freelance writing, downloading and modifying photographs, email, and on line shopping. Essentially it is used as a desktop and far exceeds, in every category, the two year old Compaq it replaces. To me, the best thing about the Intel Core I3 is the amazing graphics capabilitie! I took this laptop in a local coffee shop one morning recently and both friends and interested strangers commented on the Helios Gray design that wraps the whole package. Modern and businesslike. It also got passed around and earned the "Wow! This thing is light!" test. Once powered up and viewing photos of the beach, it became the center of attention. This display is at the top of the image class - crystal clear, even when the image magnification feature, (using two fingers on the touchpad), is utilized. Toshiba's file retrieval system is so much easier than Microsofts, I no longer waste time searching for files. Apparently, Toshiba put a lot thought in the design and real life use of this machine. The number pad and full sized keyboard make using this laptop a painless and welcomed upgrade from a desktop. It comes loaded with everything you need but very little adware. I was up and running in minutes from the moment I took it out of the box. From a value standpoint, for a standard user, this one is difficult, if not impossible to beat. Two of my friends are dumping their desktops for this one and they are far more computer literate than myself. Case closed!"

"This is my second new Toshiba. The first keyboard was flakey from day 1. First, many keys typed double characters. This was fixed by downloading a new bios. However, the space bar only worked about 75% of the time. So, I returned it. I now have a new-new Toshiba. This keyboard is a bit better. However, the right shift key only works 75% of the time. I teach college classes. It's the end of the semester and I don't have the time or patience to set up a third computer. So, I will deal with a flakey shift key. However, my husband is shopping for a new computer and it won't be a Toshiba with another flekey keyboard."

"Certainly not first laptop I've used, but first one I've personally chosen and purchased. My research pointed to this one, and very satisfied so far, WITH one exception: After I de-installed & replaced "trial" Norton Anti-virus which comes on machine w/ my ISP's own Norton Security Suite, laptop could no longer install any Microsoft or Windows auto- upgrades (downloaded fine, installs failed). Toshiba helped me fix by talking me through resetting "BIOS," but shouldn't have been a problem to begin w/ on machine of this high quality and "rep!"

"I like Toshiba products, and I'm happy with this purchase too. I was looking for an all-around computer to replace my ageing PC. I don't actually expect to use it as a portable, but it's good to have that option; and everything in one unit keeps things tidy. It all works well and the screen is very sharp. The flat keyboard has taken a little getting used to, but that simply comes with the territory."

"I bought this laptop for my wife to learn on. I liked it so much that I made a user partition for myself. This laptop has great speed and many great features. The whole touch pad scroll thing is nice but frustrating to the new user and the pop up for the web cam is a pain in the butt if you go anywhere near it. These are minor in comparison to the overall features and performance of this machine."

"Since taking it out of the box I have had no problems with this laptop. It performs well, has a nice big screen, and lots of different customizable options. The i3 has never had a studder. The battery lasts over two hours normally. I bought an ASUS before this one and have liked this Toshiba better for the processing speed mostly. The ASUS had a comparable processor btw.
It would be nice if the keyboard was backlit. I didn't realize that it was not when I bought it. Other than that it has been great for the web and homework. Very easy to use."

"This machine is very thin and light for a laptop with a 17 inch screen. It weighs a third less than my old 15 inch Dell. Graphics, such as, on line videos are way better. Yes, there are only two USB ports, but I have never used more than two since owning my first laptop and they are in the right location for easy use. I do miss dedicated media buttons that my old Dell had, but I am learning to use the function keys. Overall, I find this laptop to be a vast improvement over anything I have ever used in the past. I do not like Windows 7 64bit, as it seems that a lot of my old software is now obsolete and I have had to hunt for drivers for some hardware ,but this is not Toshibas fault. The price of this machine is a real deal for all you get."

"This laptop started having problems on day one but since I needed it to take on a vacation I made the mistake of trying to take it with me. The laptop consistently crashed, would not access Wifi networks and finally got to the point of being unusable. I guess depending on the quality and speed of he warranty experience will have a lot to do with my opinion of Toshiba laptops but I know that this one let me down miserably when I needed it most."

"Nice looking machine, competitive price. 7 weeks of use and no problems. Adequate ram and plenty of HD space. Screen is perhaps a little too big for convenient travel but real nice at home. Battery life is much lower times 2 than I expected. Keep it plugged into the wall or it boggs way down. It has all the features an average user needs and a pinch more. I am glad I bought it!"

"Only 2 USB ports? That's a keyboard and a mouse. Doesn't leave much room for other peripherals. I had to plug a USB hub into one of the ports. Starts to get rather cluttered.

"I like the SD card input, screen, speed. Very fast for internet surfing which is our primary use. Negatives are speakers are hard to hear, keyboard has moments that are less than brilliant, but I've only noticed that on certain programs. Battery life is not real long, but it works."
