"This laptop has everything I was looking for and more. I like the separate key pad to do numbers without having to search across the top. Having the touch pad lock when using a mouse or typing is great so I don't bump the pad and do something I didn't want to. I just really like this unit."

"Good buy for basic use. Not too much pre-loaded junk to have to remove. Battery life less than expected by about an hour or so. Not much of an issue for me as I am almost always near an outlet when traveling."

"I bought this model because of the ample memory and hard drive space. Among the uses I had planned for it were transferring my vinyl phonograph records to CD and lifting audio from Youtube videos via Audacity, so I was disappointed to find out after purchasing it that its' internal sound card cannot support those functions and I would have to get an external sound card at additional cost. Sure, it was my fault for not doing enough research, but StereoMix is a relatively cheap and widely available feature. Would it have killed you to throw it in? I also am dissatisfied with the design of the mouse pad. I work with my hands and my fingertips are rough and calloused, and because of that I am having difficulty feeling the mouse pad's textured surface. I find my fingers constantly wandering off of it which wreaks havoc with controlling the screen. My previous HP laptop had a recessed area with physical borders framing it which I could actually feel while using it and which made it much easier to know if you were actually on it. The performance of the mouse pad features also leaves a lot to be desired. Two-fingered scrolling doesn't kick in right away and when it finally does, it instantly scrolls down uncontrollably to the bottom of the page, causing me to lose my place. The sensitivity settings do not seem to help in preventing this. The two-fingered zoom feature suffers from similar symptoms. It either doesn't activate at all or way too quickly and out of control, and the same thing happens when I try to reverse it. On the upside, the computer is fast and so far it hasn't seriously malfunctioned in any way. It has more memory and features than I should ever need, but the sound card issue and the lack of control from the poor mouse pad performance pretty much cancel out the positives. Over all I feel the unit is extremely frustrating to deal with and I am finding myself dreading having to use it. The sound isn't very impressive either, by the way. It isn't loud enough and the equalizer is mostly ineffective."
