"This computer is AMAZING!!! It is super quiet and super light for a 17+ incher. The only complaint I have is the mere size. It is tough to buy a case for it or a safe to store it in your dorm. I dont understand why all these people are complaining about the keyboard, I like the way that it is set up, you dont have to cross the entire keyboard to type a word which is suprising, so I would say they did a good job setting it up. This computer is fast and has the ability to explore the web with amazing speed as long as your connection is good. However, this computer doesn't have a very sensitive wifi sensor thing cause it usually cant pick up some wifi for whatever reason. But as a computer it is something that im glad I invested in!!!!!!!"

"Purchased laptop with numeric keyboard on right side of keyboard. This apparently has thrown everything off. Keyboarding or typing is affected. The spacebar is at least 5/8" shorter resulting in constant errors never happening before - thumb misses hitting spacebar effectively. Cannot type without errors caused by this misalignment. Hate it. Would never buy this type again.
Also, the touchpad went out after four months from purchase. Had to send laptop back at my expense. It was repaired within a week and returned to me which was great. But should have been able to send it back COD as it was not my error."

"There are several extremely irritating functions that I have not been able to disable. The first and most aggravating is that you cannot lock the screen and its contents at the default 100%. You constantly have to hit hit CTRL + 0 to return things to normal. No matter how vigilant you try to be you will find the screen has magnified on its own to 200, 300 % etc. Sometimes it will go the other way and reduce down to 50,or 25% etc. The second irritation is the wandering cursor..you will often find that you cannot take your eyes off the screen for a second for fear that whatever you are typing will show up somewhere other than where you intended it. The third irritation is the scroll bar on the right side of the screen. I have no clue what makes this change but occasionally a smaller sliding scroll bar will appear and I guess it's supposed to allow you to scroll down thru a lengthy page easier but it really appears to have a mind of its own. Other than that it is a very stylish laptop and has many bells and whistles."

"So i have been using this laptop for a while and I got to say I can play Skyrim with no problem you can even hook up a Xbox controller to it and its a great gaming laptop and great for editing video and if you use Sony Vegas its just amazing recommed you up great the RAM after with free 15% off 2 extra gigs of Ram is toatley worth it."

"The Toshiba laptop as an excellent laptop and meets most of my demands. It is fast, efficient, and was designed for almost all of the things I was looking for in a laptop. The only thing that detracts from this computer is the keyboard layout. I am used to a deeper alcove between the keys on the board, but the Toshiba keyboard makes it slightly difficult for me to recognize the keys such I have the ability to touch type. Aside from the keyboard however, I find no other problems."

"I purchased this computer in late April. The second time I turned it on it had a major crash and had to system restore itself. I had done nothing on it besides install the Microsoft office on it that I had purchased. I returned it because I had owned it 24 hrs. The second one I received had a dead pixel. The third one seems fine."

"I'm really amazed by the stunning features this laptop has. It has much more features than my XP desktop.
Thanks Toshiba!
One thing I hate is the "blue pixel" on my screen that I have to deal with. Plus the hard drive crashed the first few weeks of purchase, and I had to send it in for a repair and surf the internet via my iPhone for weeks.
Other than this and low battery life and USB's sudden inability to detect any mouse anymore, this is a great laptop that can replace your desktop."

"Bought this laptop to use on trips for reasearch online, watching movies and gaming on downtime. It has performed well in everything I have used it for so far. The only complaint is the battery life, it is not what it was advertised to be. The best I have been able to get is 2 1/2 hrs, and there is no PCMCIA expansion slot, (Which I have found most laptop do not come with any more).. That aside it is a great laptop."

Also the toshiba memo that says you can play it on tv is in the way of the game I play and I can not figure out how to remove it . "Have been using this everyday for the last two months. No problems at all. In fact I like it better than my desktop. I have always owned Dell's, but when looking for a new laptop, their prices and features couldn't compare to Toshiba.
The new quad core AMD processor is so fast, you hardly see the screen change. Nice clear HD display. I don't use battery power often, but when power was out, it only lasted around 3 hours, not the 4+ they said it would, but you can finish anything in 3 hours, so not a problem. Buy this computer, you will not be disappointed."

"I am astounded at the quality of this laptop! The large screen makes images so crisp & bright. "Was hesitant about Toshiba initially - not real familiar with anything but the name itself. After a lot of research and pricing for the same product & features, found this to be the better deal around. Had one problem so far with a "start up failure" which turns out was caused by putting the top down while it was doing an update of windows - was unfamiliar with the "sleep mode" - but it worked out okay and is fine. I do really like it and with starting my new at home travel service this makes my business a "take along" with me venture...which is exactly what I wanted. The 17" screen is perfect - easy viewing and working. So Toshiba was a good choice for me and I would recommend it to others."

"The title may be deceiving however it does appear to be tempermental at times. I received it for Christmas and have been using it as a desktop with dual screens. I cannot rate the battery life or price-value for those reasons. (For the review it is required but I truthfully cannot review those elements) I find that on occasion, the number pad goes into hibernation, meaning the light is on but the keys are not working. The caps on light doesn't always work either but then suddenly it's back on again. The number pad is problematic for me since I use those constantly and need to hit the Num lock button a few times and then things will work again.
As I mentioned, I am running dual screens on the laptop and it handles whatever I do with absolutely no difficulties at all. I run Windows Office 2010, have multiple spreadsheets, databases, etc and it doesn't even hiccup. For this I give it 5-stars, and 4 for my overall rating."

It's not a problem with the speed or the harddrive. The letter "A" doesn't work properly. I have to hit it in just right spot for it to work, which doesn't work very well with speed typing. It has done this since we purchased it new."

"After 3 weeks, the unit went directly to recovery upon startup. In recovery choices, I chose recovery with retaining files. The recovery process however did not retain ANY files & reverted to factory defaults. For now the unit seems to be functioning properly, however, I am concerned there will be a repeat."

"I bought a bran new Satellite L775D-S7340 Laptop from a merchant on ebay. Upon arrival the screen did not work. The computer started but screen was black. I returned it and bought the exact same computer from Staples. The clock did not work correctly. The clock ran fast and the date kept changing randomly. I returned it and bought and HP that I am pleased with."

"I love the laptop itself, however Im not pleased with the so called 5.5 hour battery life, Its more like 1.75 hour life before you have to recharge it. "I really like this laptop. It is a great value, good quality, awesome graphics and great features. The sceen is a little top heavy. In fact the whole laptop is sort of heavy. I found that many laptop cases and most ladies tote type cases are not large enough to hold this model. It is is too wide (because of the large screen), which by the way is great for watching movies! I was a bit surprised that the battery life is not very long, perhaps becuase of the large screen and graphics. I ordered an extra long life battery which helps, but that makes the laptop even harder to transport when it is installed. That battery increases the thickness of the unit by approx. 1 and 1/2 inches and when sitting on the desk, the thickness forces the laptop to a downward angle. If holding the laptop on your lap, that battery seems to generate more heat, as well. It think this model is WONDERFUL for a desktop replacement that usually remains stationary in the home or home office, but not the best choice for being highly portable."

"Bought for use while traveling. I'm still loading stuff that I use on my desktop but so far so good. Not real familiar with Windows 7 but getting used to it. Only minor issue is internet explorer keeps going back to default after I change settings?? Otherwise it does all I need it to do."
