"Not exactly what I was looking for when I went shopping for a laptop, but it is serving its purpose very nicely. My choice was driven solely by the operating system, I hate Windows 8. This is my second Toshiba laptop, a major improvement over the first. This one is much faster and more stable. It wasn't bogged down with all the junkware the 1st had either, making it quick to set up and go. The 6 gig ram is okay, but make use of its 16 gig max ram, it really woke things up."

"I bought this about 5 weeks ago. I had no complaints with how it came out of the box with Windows 7. Worked flawlessly. Very Happy. Then I fell for the upgrade to Windows 8. Complete nightmare that I am working on for day #3...It began with a partial loss of my keyboard functions....now I have no Wi-Fi. If you are going to buy this and want 8...buy it with 8 installed. If you wish to upgrade to 8...BEWARE....and back everything up twice.....then take some time off work so you can try and get 8 to work right."

"I only had one other laptop for comparison. I like the big screen. I went online to read the directions for use. They were not very specific. I was going to print them for use as a reference guide but they did not contain any information on how to do things or short cuts that I am not aware of but are available for more knowledgeable users. Maybe that is a seperate book I'm not aware of. Information of that type should be included with a purchase. It would be handy. I find this laptop difficult to open otherwise it is similar to others. I haven't had it long enough to havve much other info for you..."

"This 17 inch laptop replaced a similar unit that was 7 years old, so the speed is much better. The display also seems crisper and it fires up much faster. Without being paranoid about it, I have yet to get a low battery warning. These are important valuable features. The touch pad is quirky compared to my earlier one and I haven't figured out how to reconfigure it so it doesn't change scale everytime I try to drag something. It also keeps telling me that internet has stopped working and it won't open facebook pictures except by starting with a blank that I have to advance from and then back up to see the first image. Maybe that is software, maybe hardware. I'll try to figure that out too. Overall, for the price it is grand, but awkward during the breakin period."

"Very nice laptop. Make your first upgrade to a total of 8 GB. I bought it as my 4th Toshiba 17 inch laptop expecting to add a second drive to the machine (SSD Boot Drive). No interface for a second drive on this model. I wish I would have known that before purchase since the other Toshiba laptops had slots for 2 HD's."

"I'm new to computers, but I like my laptop. I like the big 17 inch screen and theToshiba Health monitor is very helpful. It set itself up real easy, and the sound quality is much better than others I've heard. I looks sleek. Overall, very happy."

"It has plenty of speed and hard drive capacity. I have lots of pictures and it is not even close to full. It has great battery life (usually over 4 hours). A minor negative is the mute button takes 2 seconds to respond to turn sound either on or off."
