"My toshiba, like my wife's toshiba, has difficulty connecting to our wireless router. Doesn't matter if we are right next to the router or on different floors in the house. What a frustration. My HP NEVER did this. Makes me sorry I purchased the toshiba. What an inconvenience. I upgraded to the toshiba for the RAM but am sorry now."

"So far I have had difficulty with this computer. The screen often skips to other places I wasn't going to and then it won't go back to where I was and I have to try to get it to go back to the start screen and start all over. Personally I would have liked to taken it back to the store, but my son just says I need to practice on it more. I not even sure its your computer set-up or the way the windows work."

"I love the computer and its features but I have to admit that I hate Windows 8. If I could have found this laptop with the Windows 7 operating system it would be perfect. I am not a high tech person and I am having a great deal of frustration using a system that is designed for a touch screen computer on one that is not a touch screen. While I have used computers desktop and laptop for the last 20 years at work, in my business and at home I am not a tech savvy person. I have a great husband for that so I need easy to use and uncomplicated."

"My laptop is extremely sensitive-the screen will change and I spend a lot of time going back and finding my place. Not at all impressed with Windows 8. "The 17" screen is easy to read and great when I am teaching with PowerPoint. It is fast, and powerful enough to run all my graphics and composing applications. The only thing I don't like is the windows 8 operating system, which is a clumsy attempt to emulate the iPhone app world, in my opinion. I downloaded a windows 7 emulation shell and find it easier and faster to navigate."

"My last Satellite (P305D) lasted almost exactly three years, so I replaced it with another Satellite. The solid state HD, which (apparently) uses a lot less power, is a great feature, assuming it lasts. This machine has more memory, faster processor, and a much larger HD - for the SAME PRICE as my last one."

"Good price but not very impressed. Nice size, glad it has 10-key but keys are cheap quality to the touch making typing not as easy as it should be. Very stiff, thin and hard feeling...not very flexible for the average user. Don't know why laptop makers are switching to this type of key..very cheap quality. "Laptop was very good in comparison with competitors, However Toshiba used a bios configuration that was not user adjustable for virtualization when upgrading software to Windows 8 Pro in order to use Hyper-V function without paying Toshiba to turn the switch on. All competitors allow user to change bios setting. Having to pay extra for this caused me to return the computer back to seller. Toshiba used to be great."

"TOSHIBA Satellite L875-S7153 I bought this based on reviews and needing to upgrade to something more modern. The machine is very fast, tons of ram and HD space, and the screen has great resolution. The main 3 drawback are: 1. within a few days, the right half of the screen appeared on the left, and the left was on the right. I was able to fix (for now) using an updated driver from AMD, but not sure if that problem will return (I was lucky to find this "fix" as most consumers would probably have to just send it back). 2. just comparing this laptop to my previous one (which still works after 9 years), it looks pretty much impossible to work on (replace a keyboard or screen). This bothers me, as I don't believe a computer should be a disposable item to be replaced with another one. It should last for years and like a car, should be able to have periodic hardware maintenance performed - as needed - but that may be just the way all laptops are going. 3. The speakers aren't very good (weak, not very crisp/clear sound). Not a fan of Windows 8, but that's a separate issue not related to the machine."

"i only kept the computer for less than 14 days. I rate the computer extremely high - no knocks on Toshiba. The sad part of the deal was Windows 8. The software is nothing but madness for a user brought up thru the ranks on typical window operating systems. Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows XP, Windows 7 were user friendly, typically same format type of softwares. Moving from origianl to upgrades over the years has been seamless. (Except Windows Vista) I don;t appreciate anything that Windows 8 offers. I am not interested in an Apps and cell phone type of software on my computer, which is what Windows 8 has become. I returned my computer to the store and within a week I purchased a brand new ASUS with Windows 7 software. It is a beauty of a computer and I am running smooth and effortless. Windows will not convert everyone, believe me."

"Have always preferred desktops and been annoyed whenever I had to use laptops for work. But I got the 17+" screen and love it. Lightweight, fast, great graphics, great price. Do NOT like Windows 8 and how we are all forced to purchase it. Also, not wild about the shiny black inside case - shows dirt and dust easliy. Great value for the price! Have always bought Dells, but their laptops were cost prohibitive for what I got in the Toshiba. Checked ratings first and I have to agree - a great product."

Games that require java( even though it comes installed on the laptop)tell you you need to download it then when you download java it still doesnt work. too many bugs you should of worked thte bugs out first before selling this product on the market. "For the money the laptop seems to work ok but it has a few glitches so far that I hope will go away. Software seems to lock up at times but it could be the new Windows 8. Laptop itself seems durable. I replaced an HP that fell apart. All my other Toshiba's for the family have been good so I figured why not try one for work. "it's a nice computer, but I miss the menu in the corner, i miss the free solitaire and spider solitaire games for something to do while watching tv or on the phone. i don't understand why anyone thinks all these tiles are better than the icons. The icons and start menu were easier to use and had been around so long that it was easy for anyone to use them. This tile business is frustrating and unnecessarily complicated compared to the old system. It took me a week to figure out how to shut down the computer properly."

"This screen is so touchy it jumps you right out of your site with the least possible provocation. Barely moving the cursor will take you to the sign out page or the home page or any other danged page it wants too. Trying to close a window or get the cursor to respond in the corners is also mostly impossible. I am totally not pleased with the touchiness of this. Maybe this is a windows 8 problem and not the computer. I am not loving windows eight either."

"I am very disappointed in my new laptop. I had to return the first one because it didn't work. Now the second one has problems with some of the features. I have owned another laptop by Toshiba and loved it, that is why I bought this one. "I replaced an HP product with this Toshiba and am so pleased with it. The Screen is nice and big 17+" and very sharp. Sound is good too when watching video or TV. Keyboard is very comfortable and I love the number keypad on the side. No technical issues since I bought it either. I don't use it on battery only so I can't comment much about battery life so I gave it a 3 star since I had to give it a rating but maybe its better than that. Overall I think I definitely got enough bang for the buck on this laptop."

"Great value on a laptop! The HD screen is a huge plus with vivid color and pictures. I luv the trackpad and the keyboard setup including the number pad. Still trying to get used to Windows 8. "I wanted to upgrade to a 17" screen, so after researching quite a bit, I bought this Toshiba. I'm very happy with it. One thing with which I was pleasantly surprised was how light it is. The keyboard is comfortable, everything worked, and though I had an issue at first with the mouse touchpad, after some very helpful advice from a tech support person, turned out to be user error (oops!). I'm even getting accustomed to Windows 8 which I admit has been a challenge. The battery is supposed to be ok for about 2 1/2 hours. I think it's even better than that, as I've had it on battery for longer. All in all, it's definitely worth what I paid."

"This laptop has a large enough screen to split multiple tasks and the memory to run all the programs you need at once. The trackpad, however, is sticky and doesn't always accept drag gestures (two/three finger commands) as well as it should. Most frustrating is the inefficiency of the Windows 8 platform on this computer, which doesn't cooperate with the trackpad at best, and at worst is inhibitive to work. Windows 8 isn't the problem itself, of course, but without a touchscreen, it's just another cluster of programs interrupting your work whenever your cursor travels into a corner."

"Bought this computer at an office supply store, with a two week return policy. From the start the usb 3.0 ports would only work maybe half of the time. Always getting error, can not display the page, and not compatible with your operating system messages.Soon it would not wake up from sleep without restarting, and more error messages. I am not sure whether this was a hardware or software problem, but suspect software. Program features I use have been stripped out of windows 8. Overall I really dislike windows 8. Returned it to the store after 4 very frustrating days. I have a nearly 5 year old Toshiba laptop that has been great, and love it. I have ordered a Toshiba custom built laptop with windows 7 and expect it to be much, much better. We shall see. Overall I would recommend Toshiba, but I think windows 8 is a disaster. "Have owned Toshiba laptops before and was impressed with the quality and life of the computer. Have tried many others and the quality was not there spent much of their life in repair shop. Have had them replaced up to 3 times while under warranty. This one is a new operating system windows 8 still trying to figure out if windows is the problem or if its the computer. "This is my second Toshiba Laptop and this Toshiba works extremely well. It is fast and has plenty of memory 6 GB and the Hard Drive 640 GB is very ample. I only wish Windows 7 would have been offered without having to order it at a premium price. Windows 8 is terrible and full of advertising. I don't know why Toshiba went along with Microsoft on Windows 8 and I don't know what Microsoft was thinking when they designed Windows 8. Trying to copy Apple I suppose. My first Toshiba is 15 years old with a 11 inch screen and still going strong. I gave it to my Grandkids to learn on."

"This is my first laptop. I had been using a desk top that was 8 years old, When it died I started looking for a new one. I began to think about a laptop instead and as I checked them out I picked the Toshiba because I believe that it gave me the best value. It's a great computer, didn't take me long to get use to it. "If this didn't come pre-loaded with Windows 8, it might have gotten a higher rating; but I think this is Microsoft's worst yet As to the laptop itself. It's quick and responsive and other than two problems, it's been 'almost' issue free. Those two problems yet unresolved involve the sensitivity (or lack thereof) of the touch pad, plus the print screen seems to be non-functional. Um...and I even followed the instructions."

"Physically the laptop was what I wanted and expected. Good screen resolution and size. The major letdown Windows 8 and the total lack of documentation to address the many mysteries of the operating system. Windows 8 stands directly between the customer and their getting the most functionality, utility and pleasure from their decision to give their hard earned and scarce resources to Toshiba. While Toshiba didn't write the software they certainly become part of the problem by not allowing justifiably disappointed users the option to revert to a more user friendly Windows 7."

"I had no tech help just took it from staples plugged it in and away I went took all the prompts to register and get the machine up and running ,a little trouble shutting down with the windows 8 but went on line to get the shut down procedure . Start up was a little challenge at first because my old computer I had to hold the start button for so long ,doing that on the new computer it booted up and shut down right away"

"This is a good laptop for the money. The screen is very good as well as the overall performance. The only thing I did not like was the cheap and flimsy keyboard. As I unpacked the laptop, I notice that the keyboard was partially unattached from the laptop. This one I am not crazy about.. "This is a very nice computer. The only thing I do not like about it is the keyboard. I have typed for years and these keys are so shallow that I have trouble with them. Often, the key does not depress so the letter won't show up. It would seem that the shallow movement would be great but I do not like it. Everything else, so far, is great."

"I've had this laptop for almost a month. I7 with 12gb running Win8 without any issues or regrets. I know some complain about Win8 but get over it. "I looked for over a year for a replacement for my Acer laptop, which worked just fine and I gave to an elderly friend, and tried several All in One systems, but none seemed right. I think I was just too used to laptop system. Anywho, my son and his wife both have had their Toshiba's for several years w/little trouble and the specs on this were very impressive to him, he's a techie, so I finally bought. I love being able to go back and forth between Win 8 and traditional Win 7 screens. I had no problems learning Win 8, I like to play around and am not afraid of computers. I also have a Mac Pro 1 yr old that was my late daughters' and its IOS gives me fits and I can't play my silly games on it properly. This is fast, lots of memory and fun to see all it can do. (I am still learning). All in all a very nice system, would recommend , and wish I could have gotten it in Red! 4 stars on performance and battery only because I haven't tested battery yet and don't know all this beast can accomplish! Enjoy."

"The only real cavett is that this Laptop needs to have a faster boot time, replace the 5400 Rpm with a SSD of 180 to 250 gigs. And have a 500 gig 7200 HD as an option or part of the base unit, with 8 gig of ram. Other wise will built well designed unit."

"I like the laptop for the most part. The battery life is shorter than my last laptop but I usually don't need extended amounts of time on the battery alone. The touch pad is not as sensitive as I would like and the texture on it makes my finger stick to it rather than slide smoothly. There is also the front edge where the pieces of the body of the laptop meet that are not smooth. When typing the edge digs into your arms. Would be nicer if the edge was smooth. The performance is good for the speed and for graphics."

"I love my new laptop. I replaced an old one that quit working. The windows 8 was a bit of a challenge at first since I was using Vista but soon got the hang of it. The price was very good for the amount of options that are offered on this machine. The keyboard size is excellent no crowding of letters together and typing feels very natural. I find the colors very clean and sharp for the everyday user. It runs quiet . My only complaint is that I would have liked to have been given a written quick start instruction manual. The on screen manual is not helpful if you are just getting acquainted out of the box. Thankfully, this was not my first computer so I had a bit of knowledge to fall back on. But like I said the windows 8 was a bit scary at first and a manual would have helped me feel a bit more secure just starting out."

"I have had 2 desktops before this. I recommended a Toshiba laptop to a friend who was looking at one based on the features and price point he was looking at. I was very impressed when I saw that laptop, so when this model came up I was in for sure. Both are satellite laptops and very impressive. I did not want some tiny little thing that your hands could barely work on. It is a 17.3 inch screen, monster and truthfully it will only leave the desk on occasion. Trust me in a carpenters world this is small and very portable. Truthfully my only complaint is Windows 8 but that's just me too, having had XP for 10 years I have become a bit spoiled. The system operation is great just getting used to how it all functions."

"I have had a great time with the laptop. This is my first laptop and was confused about what would be a good one. Asked many friends and researched a lot of different models. The battery life is very good, the screen crisp and clear and large (17.3) so I can see it well. It has performed to every expectation I asked. Had initial trouble. The power cord/transformer did not work and I was unable to charge the laptop. I returned it to the store and they replaced it from another new laptop. I hope it was just an isolated incident. But overall it works well."

"This is a great all-around laptop, whether the owner is a first-time laptop user, or a more 'experienced' owner needing a good, solid laptop for what they are doing. The only 2 'negatives' I can think of: 1) it comes pre-loaded with a little too much 'fluff' programming, and 2) it needs a backlit keyboard. Even with those 2 negatives, this is a great laptop with many nice features and very nice expandability and upgradability. And you can't argue with the price or the manufacturer. While shopping for a new laptop, the Toshiba website folks were extremely helpful and knowedgeable, and they made choosing Toshiba a very easy and informed decision. This is my first Toshiba, and I look for ward to being a repeat customer in the future !!"

"My new Toshiba laptop outperforms the replaced unit (6 Yrs old) as I would expect. The serrated surface mouse pad is sometimes difficult to activate compared to the traditional smoother types as I have some loss of tactile sensation in my "mouse finger". Windows 8 leaves a lot to be desired (not Toshiba's fault of course) and appears to be more oriented towards tablets and touchscreen gear. It's a pain for laptops and offers little advantage if any. All in all the laptop is very fast, reasonably easy to navigate (even for us "seniors") and is a very good value. I have no serious complaints!"

"As of right now, I have had this laptop for 4 days. FOUR! After 1 day of having this computer, I had the Blue Screen of Death with error DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION. Since then, have had the BSOD 7 times. Went to restore to factory settings to maybe fix any driver issues, and its been 3 and a half hours, and its at 33% on the restore. Sorry, but this is pretty poor. Restore should take 1-2 hours, no more than that. Taking this thing back, and I'm PRAYING I can get a diff laptop from a different brand. Oh and the keyboard is very very weird. Especially the arrow keys."

"This is a very nice laptop for the price. It's fast, looks very nice, and has a good keyboard feel. My only problem with the computer itself is that the button to open the cd/dvd door is a little hard to find. The biggest problem that I have is with Windows8. I couldn't successfully install TurboTax (locked up during installation. Then when it seemed that it had installed, it locked up while entering information). Also was unable to submit homework for an online class and was not able to make payment for an online purchase. In all three cases, I had to go back to my old laptop to complete the tasks. There seems to be an incompatibility issue when dealing with businesses or schools that are still using earlier versions of Windows."

"Toshiba used to be one of my favorite, most trusted, most reliable brands to reach out to. It doesn't seem to be the case anymore, unfortunately. I originally purchased my laptop on February 16th, 2013. Let's just say it was a lemon. The left shift key was sticking, the drive had errors that needed correcting, and critical error displayed when trying to bring out of hibernate. I tried a factory reset. Same issue. I had only used it a handful of times. Needless to say I got it replaced. The new one doesn't have the sticky shift key, but applications are still hanging and the entire computer becomes unresponsive for a few seconds before catching up with itself. Maybe it can't handle Windows 8, or maybe Windows 8 isn't ready yet. Or the store I bought it from just got a bad batch. Either way, I'm not liking it and will never recommend Toshiba to anyone as long as I live. Also, when I'm typing, all the characters don't show up. anyways, about time to say a few good things. Windows 8 has some pretty cool features and the Laptop itself seems very modern when it comes to looks, the webcam resolution could use some help, but it does the job. I like that it has a built in PC monitoring program, but i dont like seeing errors when I just bought it."

"I was hoping it would come with Windows 7 installed. I'm not sure that I like Windows 8. Since I do not have the touch screen, it's a little difficult to use with the mouse pad. Even with a regular mouse attached, it is still difficult to use. I really do not like the idea that all the extra software comes preloaded: i.e. Norton software. I have additional software that I use and have to uninstall the other stuff. If you left all the extra software off, the price could be less. I would like to have a copy of Windows 8 come with the computer. Several times, I have been infected with a virus and had to reformat the hard drive to get rid of it. That is hard to do without the disk. I know that a boot disk can be made, but that is an extra burden on me. It seems that the computer manufacturers are trying to cut corners by not including the disks"

"This machine always gets the job done for me. I say "machine" because this laptop is more capable of achieving things that some very expensive laptops cannot, and because of its size and toughness. It is extremely resistant to viruses, and it is very unlikely that a virus can disrupt the hardware on this machine. I am very satisfied with this laptop. "This laptop would be better suited for surfing and minimal posting due to the akward keys on the keyboard. They are large, flat and not easy to type on for word processing. "My main complaint is the keyboard and placement of keys. Gaps between keys is greater than previous model computers and the keys are not as sensitive as they should be; therefore, needing a lot of pressure to press and type. When you have pressed a key and you know you have, you look at what you have typed and it is not there. There needs to be an improvement on the keyboard. It is a major turnoff in the product."

"I'm dissapointed that there's No short written tutorial regarding the most simple of functions regarding Windows 8, How to correctly turn off the laptop, how to adjust the pad speed, etc. I could go on and on. I do like the laptop for its other features, but having never owned one before, it's a frustrating struggle to learn on my own, since everyone I know has either a MAC, or other windows version.I also seem to have to charge the battery every day, or every few hours, which ever comes first."

"Very pleased with this laptop. I was hesitant to get Windows 8 without a tablet screen but I found the new OS easy to adopt even with just a mouse. The RAM is sufficient for my needs. I stream videos and do casual gaming. I also run more advanced business software and is processes just fine. Keyboard and touch pad have a nice feel. Love the huge screen. Despite being 17.3", if feels as light as my old 13" laptop. Battery life is terrible but that's not the objective with these kinds of laptops."

"While I am OK with the computer speedwise, I really dislike this keyboard. The spacebar is especially odious. I have to just really pound on the spacebar to get it to function. The other thing is the Synaptics pointing device that randomly changes the size of the screen when I hold the left mouse button and touch the mouse pad. "Just purchased the L875D-S7332 Toshiba unit. My first Toshiba unit was S205-S9800 Satellite Lab top that had the Harman/Kardon speakers that I have used for the last 6 years. It’s great. Upgraded it to Win 7 with no problems and still working fine. Thought I would upgrade to a newer faster unit so I purchased the L875D. First thing I notice while installing programs is you must lift up the computer to find the button to eject the CD drive. The unit sits so close to the table top my finger won’t go under the side to feel the eject button. Learning Win 8 is like any other windows, read from others experiences and then just play with it and learn as you go. First thing I did was add the start button that wasn’t hard! It gave me back the old Win 7 look that I liked and made working with windows better. This unit works fast and so far loading programs and download updates have not been a problem. Played my first CD and the speakers were unsatisfactory. Just not the quality I was use to or wanted. Just played a DVD and it does a great job."
