"I enjoy the size and weight of this computer, but HATE Windows 8. Have only had this laptop a few weeks and fnd the keyboard unreliable....it skips letters unless you press each one hard or it doubles a letter. Had to buy a wireless keyboard just to function without going back to correct words. Am not used to screens moving around and have had issues with Internet connections. The mouse cursor is all over the place and disappears often. I hope it is merely a matter of getting used to a new computer. It does have good battery life, but I prefer the older OS and something I am familiar with. Was disappointed I had to load some card games and this comes with no Office, Word, etc. Mouse pad clicks loudly!!! In time I will adjust to the quirks, but I wish Microsoft would leave well enough alone and stay with an OS longer than they do!!"

"very lightweight and sleek nice design the color could have more choices. the features r good some r needed more than others could have done without some the battery is the best not quite 6 hrs but compared to my last laptop gateway its exceeds all expectations.
one issue why are the original games freecell, solitare.etc not on cpu"

"I did a lot of research on laptops and came to the conclusion that the satellite was the one for me? After 1 month my keyboard went out and haven't yet been able to get it fixed due to my needing it for school, so I had to go out and buy a wireless keyboard to complete assignments and that has been a pain in the booty."

"I got the laptop for my nursing classes and it works great the best part in love is the really fast start up time from a dead shut down it starts up in like 15 seconds! But I don't really like Window 8 for computers but that is just a personal opinion."

"It has some very good features and new things to experience but recently when a went to update my norton antivirus which i had two more days before my subscription had expired.the evening the screen went blank a grey colour when i put it on.i began to panic so i shut it down with the off button and put it on again.the same thing happened again.i really don't know what went on on sunday but now its back to normal"

"What can I say it has Windows 8 on it.....I have been trying for several weeks to get the hang of Windows 8 but it is clearly designed for touch screens and not laptops. :/ The computer is wonderful and I love, love, love the back-lit keyboard!!! I'm currently saving for Windows 7 to downgrade. I couldn't recommend any laptop with Windows 8."

"I bought this for my workplace; it has some quirky features, i.e. doesn't EVER seem to shut down all the way. Also, it doesn't have a latching mechanism, so it'll open on you when you are carrying it.
And Windows 8 is not even worth it. Why they went this way is beyond me."

"I really have to kick myself in the head for not using this laptop immediately after I purchased it more than a month ago. I put it aside for that long because I traveled quite a bit. Now I found out that I have the same problem as other owners about the major flaw of the keyboard. It's by far one of the flimsiest keyboard out there and doesn't work very well. I have to push the keys hard for them to work, If you are a fast typist, you can definitely forget about getting this laptop or any comparable Toshiba laptop with the same keyboard. I guarantee that you'll be extremely frustrated and annoyed that you'll have to constantly make correction. Secondly, the touchpad that has been giving me problem since day one finally stopped functioning yesterday. What a nightmare.... I have an older Toshiba laptop and it's very reliable for years.. What a shame.."

"The keyboard and function keys are very well laid out for someone with large hands.
The screen is very clear and has great color.
Sound is very good.
Not real happy with Windows 8 when running software, Software purchased last year (Pro Tools) has compatibility problems.

"When I first got it, Windows 8 was very impressive, I would say I do like the new Windows. But after about 2 months in, certain keys doesn't work anymore and my computer is beginning to run slower when it comes to media applications. But luckily i have a warranty, so we'll see."

"I like the Toshiba, however I have had a couple of problems. The keys don't always type the letter; sometimes takes 5 or more times of pressing it or just waiting for a couple of seconds (0-15) Sometimes it starts to type in caps and the light on the key isn't lit and pressing it doesn't revert back to normal type pattern. it's happened each time I'm working on a document.
It also switches size of the page--like 100% to 25% or 70% to 150%. It's frustrating"

"The computer itself is fantastic but I would like to get rid of Windows 8. I am a grad student and have used Windows OS throughout my education and career so I believe I am a proficient user. I have yet to figure out how to keep the screens from switching over and I also can't figure out how to get a program like skype off the app list and onto my desktop. This is a very annoying OS."

"Honestly, I should have researched the performance a little better online and looked at the features as well. No DVD player, graphics are not the best, screen resolution is o.k. This OS and laptop is not build for any software program that requires graphics!
