"This is my 3rd laptop; my first Toshiba. I've had it for 9 months. Actualy, I bought 2 of them (one for my daughter). Neither of us has had a problem. I had to increase my memory because I have lots of graphic programs open at the same time. Other laptops crashed within the first 2 weeks and had several crashes well before the 9th month. Had to replace the hard drives on one of them 3 times in 3 years. I don't know if I'll have to replace my hard drive in 3 months, but really appreciate not suffering the crashes. I keep everything backed up pretty well. I don't mind the short battery life because I use the AC adapter. My 4th laptop will definitely be a Toshiba. Oh, love the price too!"

"So I have had this laptop for about 2 years, customized of course. I'll start off about what is great about this computer. First, the price is awesome. No where else will you be able to find a laptop of this screen size and with all the stuff you can add to it for such a good price, trust me I've looked. The processor is fast for the most part and the graphics are fairly decent with most high end games. I can play games like Dragon Age, Left 4 Dead 2, and Crysis in full specs and it runs fine, though it does tend to lag with GTA IV if you have the details to high. The screen is awesome, big and crisp for any game or movie you are playing, and the lighted keyboard is an awesome feature. Now for the bad. This laptop pretty much needs to be plugged in, I use it more or less as a desktop replacement that I can sometimes take to a friends house, it only has round 2 hours of battery life. It is also very thick and heavy, which isn't a huge problem if you will not be carrying it everywhere, though if you do I would suggest a backpack. Also The buttons ( volume, mute, play, ect) are inconveniently located to the left of the keyboard, which means your hand will be constantly hitting them, making them beep, and if you happen to hit the mute button, play button, or eco button, it will instantly minimize whatever game you are playing. Like other models I do not know why they did not just move but buttons to the top of the keyboard, and just add a wheel on the side for the volume. Now my two main problems would be with the CONSTANT crashes and sound issues. The sound frequently fades in and out and crackles, even blows out completely sometimes. This happens to my computer at least once a week. Also, this computer crashes and/or freezes up where I have to manually shut it down at least once a week. I will not even be running a powerful program, and I keep my computer very safe, yet it still freezes and crashes once a week. Others that I have talked to who have the same model laptop complain about the sound issues and weekly crashes as well. Toshiba needs to get this worked out or I, along with many others will not make their next computer a Toshiba laptop, no one wants a computer with technology that is constantly failing, freezing, crashing, and sputtering."

"This new improved P500 has so many new features and the performace is not to be missed. The Windows 7 OS is quite great on the Toshiba and gives it a quicker adventage for downloads and multitasking, that was something vista could never do. Overall this is a great laptop with great performance."
