"I love the fact that when I boot this laptop I don't have to look at a Toshiba bootloader. Speeding up your boot time. The downside to that is if you don't press F12 in time, you'll miss it.
Have you had a computer that everything you installed worked no problem? That's been my experience with this computer.
I use this computer for basic applications like spreadsheets, word processors, and database management. i also use it to surf the web and check emails, etc.
My main use is to program in Java and SQL. I downloaded the JDK and Oracle 11g database with no problem. Not to mention as soon as I unboxed the computer I install Ubuntu, a Linux, open source distro also with no problem along side Window$ 7(Which I only use because of school).
Another one of my main uses are for video, photo, audio editing computer networking. I really put the quad core processor and 8g of RAM to use.
I'm not a gamer but the open source games I have installed worked with no problem or lag. I'm sure there'll be no problems with more RAM and processor intense games."

"The Toshiba Satellite P755 was a great choice for someone who needs something portable, yet powerful.
It provides a great battery life, Roomy hard drive, great performance, as well as a nice design. I did not have any problems since I bought it, and I have upgraded to windows 8 on it today. It is my first Toshiba, and I would have to say I may continue buying them. It had many features and preinstalled software such as the eco utility, and was well worth the money."

"Mostly I use this laptop for email, internet and school. It's a reliable brand with better than average build quality. The only issue so far is the super touchy touchpad. I have to watch how I type to make sure my cursor doesn't move and type in a different part of the paragraph. It's fast for my needs."

"I like the laptop for its features. It is my second Toshiba Satellite. I had one that lasted 3 years and 8 months. Then it gave up. I discarded it and decided to buy another Toshiba because I liked the way the first one worked when it worked. Overall Toshiba makes better laptops than Dell or HP. ASUS may come close to Toshiba. I also have ASUS laptop."

"This is my second Toshiba laptop. Used satellite L30 for 5 years. It still works fine. I wanted to buy a new one and thought Toshiba would be great. But I'm disappointed about Satellite P755-S5120 Laptop. I got two problems. The battery does not fit in to the socket. It shakes when I carry the laptop. Also this laptop makes an unusual noise when processing (eg. Scrolling a web page). Otherwise this is a great lap top. I will return this. But I still believe in Toshiba."

"Toshiba is a great company. Most products are great, but this computer model is far less than poor. It was a complete waste of my money. Computer design is horrible. Power cord plug is near cd/dvd recorder causing problems opening player. Battery life is super horrible. Had laptop for 3 months and battery life now is less than1 hour without recharging. Mouse pad-horrible. Must keep fingers up or pad will stick and it starts fast scroll. Bought to replace DELL laptop. Worst mistake I ever made in buying computer equipment in my 20 years of purchasing computers and computer equipment. Speaker system is great. Laptop-worst than horrible. I hate it. Must have electrical outlet to function in classroom, meetings, and in public. Please... do not buy or I purchased a true "lemon" with no sugar to make lemonade!"

"nice looking, goes with most decor. I do not carry this laptop around with me because I bought it to replace my desktop PC. I think this laptop might just be a little heavy to carry around on a bike or something to a coffee shop or in a backpack walking, but not too heavy to take on a trip on a plane, or if I plan to work from a hotel or something. It has all the features of a full sized desk top and really is not that heavy."

"This is my 5th Toshiba laptop, and they never let me down. This new one has great sound and features, but the only thing that bothers me is the mouse pad. If I'm not really careful where my fingers are at, they screen starts changing size, which is a little annoying. Otherwise it's a great laptop!"

"The features on this laptop are pretty good. No negative experiences so far. One design goof: the DVD drawer hits the power cord. The cord should have come off the back of the laptop not the side. Other than that this seems to be a good solid performer."

"Purchased this laptop for work to replace my previous Toshiba (an i3), which I am now using as part of my office network. Wanted a laptop that was fast, dependable, had good if not overwhelming sound quality and that would keep up with my software demands for the next few years. And this laptop had the perfect configuration for me at the right price. Replaced the relatively slow 5000 rpm HD with a 250 GB SSD and replaced the battery with the larger one that came with my i3 Toshiba (which incidentally not only came with the larger battery but also with a 7500 rpm HD...so why hobble an i7 with a slower HD??). Anyway, after making these changes, the battery lasts for 6-8 hours and the machine runs like an F1 racer on steroids. My only negatives are minor ones: the USB ports would have been better placed toward the rear of the case (where they'd be away from the mouse when its moved; you have to make certain you PRESS the spacebar, a light touch doesn't always work; not all of the 5120's have a backlit keyboard (a shame; mine doesn't), helpful for Fn key functions in dim light; and finally I wish it had an expansion slot (would have used it for a faster graphics card than the Intel it comes with). Otherwise it is the perfect machine for my needs."

"let me begin by saying I love my iMac. However for college they wanted Windows 7 and portability. When I take all of the classes I am sure that I might change my 4 star grades to possibly 5 stars. I type hard as a typical typer so the key board is not an issue for me. The odd part of the key board is that it is off center so that you have a full numbers key board to the side. This has taken more getting use to than anything.
Then of course there is the whole slowing down of the machine even with the big processor. It gets frustrating at times and I have a plan of attach, but wish that I did not have to have one like with my apple products. (know I could have added windows to my Mac, but prefered to keep it safe and healthy)."

"I bought this laptop as a last minute thing not knowing what it was really about. I absolute love the performance on this laptop, it's quick and efficient and does everything I want to. The only thing I would say is the screen is a bit pink, but after using the laptop for a while, it's not even noticeable. The battery life could be better as well. Otherwise I think it's a great buy"

"I had been very hesitant to purchase a laptop.But, I LOVE THIS LAPTOP! My desktop crashed and so I went with a laptop because I thought is was time to catch up with current Technology. The Toshiba just out shined the competition (even Dell) which surprised me. The only thing that I would improve on is battery life. But if that is the only thing I could find wrong I'd say it is a good product. Doesn't generate much heat like the others and very easy to carry around LOVE THAT! Great product way to go TOSHIBA."

"I bought this one because I had a Toshiba previously and was happy with it. This one when you are typing occasionally your screen will disappear. The vol toggle switch click when you adjust the vol and you can't disable it to make adjusting the vol silent. Perhaps, the biggest problem is the USB ports are on the side instead of the back so they are in the way and the power cord will frequently keep the DVD door from opening. It really was not very well thought out. Also used the battery for the first time last weekend after having the laptop for about a month and got 2 hours of use, primarily in idle, instead of the 5 - 6 hours (if I remember correctly) promised."

"Other than the difficult keyboard I'm reasonably pleased with the Toshiba laptop. The keyboard issue, one that I am not alone in noting, makes typing very aggravating. The space bar, in particular, sticks often forcing me to go back and enter spaces. Other keys also are not responsive forcing me to be extra careful as I type. The keyboard was like this out of the box, so keep this in mind as you make laptop decisions."

"After messing up a few Tosbi setups I took my time and let it work through until it was ready for me. Before setting up my net I was able to remove all the sale software like norton, ms office and a few of the other ones. Diabled all the auto startup services then setup my internet and loaded AGV!
Great setup and all my perfis hooked right up letting me move all my wma, clip, mov and several other large files into it's attached 3T drive!
Great speed for a notebook.
And the guys at Best Buy were great too!
Now if we can just get my other toby to work as well..."

"This is my first laptop and I abolutely hate it. It malfunctions all the time. It jumps form page to page with me doing no instruction to do so. The cursor jumps all over the page after I have clicked on the left bar for it to be in a specific place. Frequently it "blues out" a part of the previous text for no reason and I have to keep left clicking to get it to the right position. I will never buy a toshiba product again."

"The problem I have with this is the keyboard layout. It's hard to get used to and causes a lot of mistyping. Since typing is so fundamental to the use, I have to rate it lower and would caution people to look for a unit with a more standard keyboard, without the number pad on the right, giving less room for the letter keys and shifting them to the left in a strange placement. I have a friend who ended up adding a full keyboard to solve the mistyping issue. We have not used it on battery much so can't comment on that other than I hope it's better than the last Toshiba we had. One other small thing is that the color blue seems strange on the screen. Not a issue for us since we don't do anything where we need very accurate color, but it is noticeable. So, if you can get past the keyboard issue, I could recommend it. But I'd say to try other units with standard keyboards first. So why did I buy it? It was a good price for a very robust unit and we didn't notice the quirky keyboard layout even after some test typing in the store. The performance has been just fine."

"I already had a Toshiba tablet that I love. So when my husband and I needed to purchase a laptop computer of course we decided on a Toshiba. We purchased the P755-S520 laptop for its I7 processor and 750 GB hard drive. Its 8 GB of RAM makes it perfect for us to use for many years to come. It has a great video and sound quality and it's a great buy for the money."

"I needed an additional laptop in the home for my office. I didn't think I would need much in a laptop since I would only use it to search the internet. Probably a Intel I3 or I5 processor. After reviewing multiple manufactures, I decided on a Toshiba for its entertainment quality features(video,sound,HDMI.etc..) Now when it came time to which laptop, the P755-S5120 with its I7 processor,8G RAM, 750G harddrive and price point clearly won me over. Since my purchase a month ago, I have been very impress by its power and ability to meet my increasing and daily challenges. Another quality is I feel this laptop will perform excellent for years to come. You can't ask for much more."

"for cost vs performance this was one of the best buys i could find. It has a very good graphics card. i play multiple games and it never freezes. the only quirk i have found is color was a bit off and that can be delt with in the settings and the impact hard drive. the hard drive slows the performance when just barly moves.. again can be delt with in settings"

"This machine rocks! Great display, fast, user friendly, sleek and pretty. It is my second Sattelite Laptop since 2004 and I am sold on Toshiba. That is why I bought it. My first Toshiba performed very well (old laptop is still operational although it is a bit outdated and yes, it has been used to death and cd rom quit working...so it was handed down to my son). I like everything about this laptop with the exception of Chrome. I am a creature of habit and I prefer FireFox but with a few clicks I was able to customize it to my taste. Thank you for a great machine. Keep up the good work."
