"This laptop is decent if all you do is listen to itunes and maybe word processing. Surfing youtube or anything remotely that involves graphics will have your laptop overheating in minutes, tried to switch the power settings etc, clean vents etc, unless you plan on taking your entire computer apart I would not purchase this unless general programs are all that you are going to use. I have had mine for 6 months and have watched while the performance just got worse and worse now I can't even watch an online video and switching between programs takes about 45 secs"

"I do a lot of video and photography and wanted a laptop for photoshop, premiere and after effects and thought this laptop would do nice it seemed to have all the specs I needed. big problems is when it comes to doing things with 3d rendering I didn't realize a lot of the 3d programs would have a problem with the intel graphics family card. I there are certain effects I can't use in AE and forget it when trying to use element 3d from video co pilot. I wouldn't be quite as upset if I could purchase or upgrade the graphic card but I have been told I can't its all soldered to the motherboard. That would mean a whole other laptop. Next time I will check more but sometimes you just don't know."

"I REALLY LIKED THIS LAPTOP WHEN I SAW HE AND THE SALESREPRESENTATIVE DESCRIBED IT BUT WHEN I TOOK IT HOME STARTED USING IT AND FINDING OUT THAT THE BATTERY DOESNT LST THAT LONG AND THOUGHT IT HAD MANY MANY MORE FEATURES I EXPECTED OF IT BUT I GUESS WHEN YOU GO INTO A STORE TO BUY A PRODUCT AND THEY REALLY WANT IT TO SELL THEY HAVE TO EXPLAIN IT TO MORE THAN YOU EXPECTED AND NOT UNDERSTANDING IT WELL THATS WHEN YOU LOOSE AND ITS NOT WORTH THE MONEY I PAID FOR IT I GUESS I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT A DELLLLL."

"Though I have only had my new Toshiba about 5 weeks now, I am very well satisfied with it. I can open the cover, hit the on button and be online in less than 15 seconds. My old HP took over 2 minutes from start up to online. I also like the screen's picture quality and the sound is great. In my experience so far, I would highly recommend this laptop."

"I've had this laptop for about a month. I bought it to replace a desktop I've been using for 7 years. Of course the performance is better than the old laptop and the 17.3 screen is pretty nice. I don't use my computers for anything very taxing, e-mail, surfing, photo editing and a little video editing. So far I'm pretty happy with the performance except for the keyboard, it seem too "stiff" for my preference. But I guess I'll have to live with it."

"I heard good things about Toshiba laptops and this one seemed like a good deal. I looked at a few at local stores, but it's never the same as having one at home. This turned out to be a disappointment. I'll break it down simply: Pros: -can charge things plugged into USB port with computer "sleeping" -decent (though NOT great) speakers -large screen -little bloatware Cons: -cheaply made. It's just cheap plastic all over. Sure, the surface have a nice pattern in "platinum" color, but so what, my tupperware is more colorful and feels more durable. -mirror screen--very reflective, impossible to see anything outside -battery life is awful, about 2.5 hours. this is a large laptop, and there is plenty of room for a larger battery, but they went with a smaller/cheaper one. -keys on the keyboard are smooth, rather than textured, fingers slip while typing--this is plain oversight on the part of designers -Synaptics touchpad is really really bad. Not sensitive, multi-touch functions are very rough, two-finger scrolling only works every other time, despite the touchpad seeing that there are two pressure points, as indicated by the tray icon. It just doesn't do what it's supposed to do. (And, yes, I did try the advanced settings, to no avail.) -Did I annoying brightly-lit light bar above the touchpad and a similar 'Satellite' logo in the lower left corner. I really can't figure what's could've been the reason for these. To constantly remind me where the touchpad is at? That I don't forget that this is branded "Satellite"? And did I mention the lousy battery life? -Touchpad location too much to the left, keep on brushing it with my wrist. -No bluetooth. -Slow hard drive So with all the above reservations, I would not recommend this laptop to anyone. Just too many things done wrong. It's worth spending extra $50 on a better package."

"Couple of things that bring down my estimate of my Toshiba lap top. 1) battery life seems short, about 2.5 hrs even if I am just using email or surfing the web. 2. It seems to run a bit hot...fan is running so that seems to work fine...just runs hot, maybe this has something to do with the short battery life. Also, the startup time is quite good, however it takes sometime to shut down..."

"My HP laptop died two months ago (the screen won't light but the computer still works). Rather than pay $150 to $300 for a repair, I decided to get a new laptop. My sister in AZ recommended I look at Toshiba laptops, as she's had good experiences with them. I really really like this laptop. The screen is crystal sharp and the colors are fantastic. The machine has way more power than I really need, but it's nice to know it's there. I don't use the sound features on a computer very often, but was surprised by the quality of the Dolby advanced audio and harman/kardon sound on this laptop. I'm still getting used to the features of this machine and haven't been disappointed by anything yet. The price value was a real stunner! The HP laptop I replaced with this Toshiba laptop cost me several hundred dollars MORE, and that was four years ago. I am, to say the least, very pleased with the Satellite P775. It's a true bargain in all senses of the word."

"Now days everyone needs a computer, it's makes life easier. My boys talked me into getting a laptop instead of a desktop...which is what I had previously. I'm so glad I did, we are in the middle of selling our house and buying another house in a different state, it has been a life saver having the laptop. The Toshiba has been great, not any problems with it, just with the user:D It's easy to use and I can take it with me while traveling."

"This laptop is great for almost any user (except perhaps gamers or anyone working with highly graphic-intense applications). The screen size is great for everyday Internet surfing, as well as watching streaming video and DVDs. I also really am enjoying the upgraded speakers--although they don't beat a good external set, they are definitely good enough to allow you to leave yours at home while traveling, yet still enjoy crisp, clear sound. The only complaint I have after approximately one month of use is that while burning DVD+R DL discs to create backup and system restore media, 3 of 9 discs failed at the end of the burning process, forcing me to throw them away and redo them (it isn't a quick redo either--I'm not sure what speed the dual layer discs are recorded at exactly--but it takes quite a while to burn each one when they are full). Other than that, I am officially a convert to Toshiba (I worked in IT at my previous employer, and they used only Dell laptops, so that is what they gave me for home as well). An "A-" product, highly recommend."

"What I love about Toshiba in general and certainly this laptop is that they think of extras that nobody else does. The placement of the speakers is much better than anyone else's- right up top, not on the bottom front like HP where it's covered by your lap or belly. And they are LOUD, the loudest on any laptop I've used. Also- longest power cord of any laptop I've ever seen. This is a big help! I could go on, but suffice is to say I love this laptop. It is BLAZING FAST, no glitches, a pleasure to use."

"I love the huge 17" screen. I have a tablet and get tired of looking at the small screen. The DVD works fine and have used it non-stop without a problem. I have never had such good sound as with this laptop. Doesn't get much better than harman/kardon speakers. I highly recommend this laptop to those who want all the bells and whistles."

"Seems to work great now that I have Windows 7. However the software supplied is limited. No Microsoft Access, etc. which did come with the much cheaper Dell Inspiron1525 I replaced. I'm sure it's Microsoft marketing that imposes these limits that force us to buy things that used to come with a computer. Information on using the computer is a pain to access. Too bad you don't print owners manuals anymore."

"Although the laptop I recently purchased is working fine I am quite disappointed in the length of time that the battery lasts. It is advertised to be a 6 hour battery but in fact it lasts between 2 and 3 hours. Then picture how long a 3 hour battery would last."

"My laptop died and I was in need, so I probably made a hasty decision. However, that does not mean it was necessarily a bad decision, but I probably would not have made the same decision given a little more time to review other laptops. That being said, this laptop works well and looks good, but I did not realize how big it actually is until I got it home and started working on it. Besides it being too big, my major complaint is a small one - the mouse buttons have an audible click that really bugs me. I like quiet. I will get used to the size and I will probably get used to the click - maybe."

"It's a very good laptop, the only thing I'm hoping for is a bios update that allows you to allocate more ram to video processing. As far as the software package it's respectable although most the software I use is freeware of my own liking. A windows 7 disk included would have been a huge bonus. As far as I know there are no pc manufacurers that include these any more. It'd have been a valid selling point for me. Then I could've just entirely disabled the system restore feature as it uses alot of disk space."

"I've had the Toshiba Satellite P775-S7100 Laptop and already have had to take it bac for repair. The DVD/CD drive apparently was "corrupted" and, even after the Geek Squad tried to install a new one, it still didn't work. Not the best introduction to a new computer and my first Toshiba. Maybe I should have stayed with my regular brand!"

"This laptop has been one of the best investments that I have made. I have recently been to some stores where they sell laptops and have recommended this laptop to a lot of people, telling them that they can't go wrong. "This is the very first Toshiba Satellite I've owned, and I've had several notebooks prior. Figured that since I do buy a new computer about every 4 years, time to look at other companies. I wasn't disappointed. Right out of the box, this thing is amazing. Although I would have loved to have had the backlit keyboard (which adds the extra coolness feature to it) it's not required. The Intel i-5 processor and onboard Intel graphics card work perfectly for me, and as for online gaming, sure you could go with an ATI or nVidia model, but this one does just fine. No driver hickups or conflicts, especially when playing online games. For those of you who have been asking, Star Trek Online works perfectly on this model (no need to scale down the graphics on it either, it's just plain beautiful). Daily usage is also unbelievable, battery life is perfect. I had it on performance mode, and the battery lasted 4 hours before I had to plug it in. Great machine overall, will definately buy one like it again in the next 4 years."
