"This laptop is very good and reliable. I don't normally write these but because of the previous comment I felt obligated. The reason I feel obligated is because the previous person said they are tech savy and by reading it the definitely aren't. The person doesn't know the difference between who makes the software and who makes the hardware. I have been in the I/T industry for 14+ years. The only laptops I trust are Macs and Toshiba. They require very little if any repairs at all. In regards to Windows 8 so far I love it. I have been waiting for Microsoft to make an OS software and Phone OS software to be identical to make data transfer easier. The only hang up is getting familiar with the location of every thing. Again Toshiba has never let me down hardware wise. WD (Western Digital) who makes hard drives on the other hand has let me down on many occasions."

"I have owned a Toshiba Satellite for four years and have been pleased with it. This is in part why I bought the second. I'm most likely not going to do it next time. For starters, I travel a great deal on business. They would not ship it to me. I had to find somebody in a strange place I could trust to help out and have it shipped there. Business travelers know time is money. The laptop is a nice size and the screen size is good with good pixelation. The speakers are nice and I love the backlighting on the keyboard. The bad: It opens internet pages for now particular reason. I HATE the apps approach. Put the stupid start button back and quit trying to tell me what I want. I am constantly having to undo whatever the laptop decided it wanted to do while I am trying to accomplish something. I want to turn it on and see the desktop. I do not want to waste time trying to get what should be there at start up. I HATE the side bar. It is constantly dragging out while I am working on something. After all the trouble, when I want to shut the system down, IT WON'T come out or stay out. I basically feel like this laptop is basically "appleing me" and trying to take over. It's like trying to work with a two year old wanting to push all the button and causing half your work to be deleted! I have a quad core i7, desktop (different brand) and therefore I expected MUST more than what I am getting. Not much faster than my old one (laptop) with Intel® Core i3-370M Processor, and Mobile Intel® HD Graphics. I would return it, but they would most likely not allow it, charge me a fortune to ship it, or just not respond."
