"The original laptop keyboard randomly lost typed characters. After about 10 days, I tried the store sample and was convinced that the problem was with my laptop. The store had no unused replacements, so I returned my laptop to the store and bought another identical unit at another store. Wasted a good week of my time, but I am fully satisfied with my new laptop."

"It was time for me to upgrade to a laptop with better performance. I researched a number of vendors and decided on Toshiba for a couple of reasons. The main reason being the i7 chip, quad core, exceptional storage and very easy to use keyboard."

"This is my third Toshiba laptop. They are excellent machines! I wish I could have found one with Windows 7 installed but there were none to be found. So I purchased one with the truly awful Windows 8, thinking that it might not be as bad as I had heard. In fact it wasn't as bad as I'd heard, it was much much worse. The many and various popups and things that slide across the screen all the time simply serve to spoil my workflow. So I had to buy a copy of Windows 7 Pro, uninstall Win 8, and upgrade my Toshiba to Windows 7. Now I have a fabulous machine! It works like a dream!"

"Working in a one to one computer school I have been given many Toshiba computers for 7+years. I did not think twice about purchasing one for myself and all the school work I do at home. I like the 15.6" screen and battery life of my S855. However, with the higher price, I thought I was getting better quality. The keyboard is such poor quality. It is flimsy, sticks, and often locks up on me."

"Very well designed, easy to use, very good price for value ratio. Excellent performance. The Toshiba software that comes with the Laptop could have been better. The DVD-RW is a bit loose. I'd recommend this product to every one."

"I have had this computer for a while and there is honestly only one thing I don't like about it.The touchpad isn't as responsive as it should be for multiple finger gestures. Other than that it has been great."

"I find windows 8 counterintuitive, frustrating and constatly worthy of my unbridled hate. In fact the learing curve is so steep that the laptop battery died while I was trying to figure out how exactly to use windows 8. An obtuse violence engendering platform that, quite frankly, is ruining Toshiba. This is my fourth Toshiba laptop I can promise you it will be my last."

"I am impressed with this laptop, but will have to purchase Windows 7 to replace The Windows 8 that came installed. If I had known how dissatisfied I would be with Windows 8 I would probably purchased a laptop with Windows 7 installed and spent the money that I will have to spend on upgrading the laptop."

"The features of this laptop are what I expeted, EXCEPT for the keyboard because it eems to mis letter that I tye. It requires frequent editing and rekeying of letters to fill in where my keystrokes have not been recognized during the first pass. I did not have this problem on my previous to Toshiba latops. It seems too be a problem with the way the keys are constructed or how they react to being pressed...??? I have fund other similr concerns epressed on the internet, but hav not seen a recommended slution except to buy a stand alone wireless keyboard., which defeats the whole laptop cncept as far as I am concerned."
