"This is our second Toshiba laptop. The one it is replacing is still running after 9 years, but we needed an upgrade to a faster machine. Toshiba Satellite makes a quality machine."

"I had to upgrade computers for college and opted to go with this one, even though I've only ever bought HP and Sony electronics before. Boy, am I glad that I did! This was the only 17" laptop with an i7 processor for the price that I could find and it works like a dream, no problems whatsoever thus far. The only part I'm less than thrilled about are the speakers but most laptops have less than stellar sound, so that's a minor gripe. If you're worried about running into bugs, get an extended warranty from the retailer you purchase your machine from."

"I have had a few problems with it. When I put it in sleep mode it would not boot up (wake up) correctly and I get error messages. When I restart it, it asks to start it in fix mode...but then I get errors and I have to restart it again."
