"The webcam was grainy, RJ45 detached on its own and would not click in, Windows 8 is a nightmare and extremely unpleasant to use, would NOT allow me to install software saying I had to be the Administrator (I am the only user and the Administrator. There are more reasons and issues, not enough space to type in."

"No less than 3 weeks after having the laptop USB port, mousepad, and ethernet port are inoperative. My last laptop was a toshiba and it was very reliable, after this laptop I am cautious to ever buy toshiba again."

"I had a problem with my first laptop in that it would not restart when it was turned off or even from hibernation. I began looking at repair costs and decided I would probably pay the same as for a new one and after ordering another brand and it did not work, I returned it and got my second Toshiba. It's dependable, fast and I have no complaints other than Windows 8 which I do not like at all."

"My husband bought me this Toshiba laptop. I have been using it for over a month and have been really amazed by it. It is light weight, the battery life is incredible, and it works great! For the price, it is an awesome laptop!!!"

"I have a older Toshiba satellite so I thought another would be just as good,my other had a quad processor this has a i5 but seems slower. I don't like the placement of the mouse pad I have to turn it off when typing or it makes it go all over my older never had to turn it off. I don't like windows 8 neither cant use my tool bars with it kinda wish I didn't upgrade to this one"

"If you get a computer and the very next day you are having issues with keyboard and functions of the mouse you better think twice if you want to keep it.
I have used Toshiba for many years before I jumped into Macs and tried this one ...."

"Sleek, slim, a third of the weight of my old laptop with tons more power and speed! My only critique is that the USB ports are on the right (next to where the mouse would be used) and the CD slot is on the left. Switching these two would quite possibly make this the perfect laptop."

"Well, I have had this less than 3 months and so far, it works well. I rated it all as 3 stars (average) as the average laptop should work out of the box. As to the machine itself, do yourself a favor and save the extra money and get the touch screen. The finger pad is a big pain in the butt to use - get a mouse. The operating system is made for touch screens, period. yes, it works, but its a forced marriage of an old school laptop with an operating system for a better laptop."

"This model seems designed for a left-handed user. That's bad since I'm right handed. It has the optical drive on the left side along with a USB port near the rear which is perfect for a wireless mouse dongle. All other ports (including the USB 3s) are on the right. So, if the USB ports are used or a separate monitor attached, the mouse has to contend with a sea of cables or other things forcing the mouse away from the machine. Had I paid attention, I would have never purchased a machine configured that way."

"I use this laptop for a month. I understand the electronics at the amateur level, I understand English is bad. Notebook is light, beautiful, very bright screen, fast response. a bit unusual permanent introduction of password, and other actions. generally reconstructed with windose 7 to 8 I was embarrassed. laptop freezes, it can sometimes be because I myself pumped from the internet I need Google Chrome, Skype and more. I was not able to register with Microsoft. Virus Protection served for one month. I come home with a laptop in summer. My friend is versed in the Notebook well and he will do with it what I want."

"I have had this laptop for a month, and, so far, am very pleased with it: I get excellent battery life even when running videos or live music streaming.....I've used it for 4 hours or more and still had battery life left. Windows 8 takes a little getting used to, but the option to move to the desktop display gives you the option to move to a more familiar layout. So far, I like this laptop alot."

"Pros: look, performance, features, value
Cons: 1) Screen spec 15.6 really a 17 does not fit case
2) mouse pad response well below Apple, Lenovo, etc -- jumps all over the screen
3) attempt to blend touch pad w/PC is really bad; trying to pound out work on a key board is interrupted with pop-ups, pull downs, slide-ins. A real productivity killer for those who expected this to behave like a PC."

"I am not sure if the computer is working correctly. The scroll pad feature is not very user friendly and keep jumping to new screens. This is my 4th laptop and I have never had this issue before. It could be operator error, but I doubt it. The whole unit is very touchy. Maybe someone could assist me with this and I could write a more positive review. If you have a tech department, I would be happy to contact them. I have had 2 HPs and never had this issue. It could aslo be a feature of Windows 8. I would appreciate the assistance. Thank you."

"Windows 8 was a barrier for me but when my old laptop died, I had to buy. Glad I did****** This Toshiba satellite was absolutely the best value/performance for the dollar. Windows 8 is different but quite likeable once you understand how to manipulate within the system. The only critique I have of the laptop is the power connector at the computer--it is definitely a weak point in the system. I am very careful when connecting/disconnecting, but if one was to just yank the plug out, you will find yourself with an unusable product. Know it and adapt your behavior accordingly, this laptop is durable and should last a long time. I recommend this laptop to my family and friends."

"I like the laptop but am not crazy about windows 8. I find this latest os as very lacking. I understand the attraction if a person has a touchscreen however as you well know the model Toshiba I purchased, actually I purchased five(5) laptops, does not have. The touchscreen. Toshiba would have been better served with a better OS."

"This is my second Toshiba, very much like the computer! Windows 8 was theft! I had to have windows 8 as it came on the machine, Microsoft took my money for a system that works poorly at best! Support says we can't turn off the hover above what's in setting which does not shut it off! The hover cause's the computer to turn pages and go to links we never intended. Looking on the net MANY! of us are extremely unhappy. I paid for a system that doesn't work, Linux however was free, and it works! Sure would like my money back for windows 8!"

"When I am traveling, I needed a laptop that would transfer and process large camera raw files with Adobe Photoshop CS6 without getting bogged down. The screen image quality is also excellent. I have been very satisfied with all of the other aspects of the device as well."

"Very Quick Machine. Not happy about the Boot Locker but you can disable if you need to install another OS like UBUNTU, Machine is fast! Touch pad leaves a bit to be desired but if you get a small USB mouse you should be good. Great Wireless Card on board. Decent Sound, Crisp picture and a 10 Key pad for data entry.WOW!..Disappointed that there does not seem to be any media card reader. That pretty much is the only downside. Windows 8 once you get used to it is nice. Did I mention it is fast. :) Great machine worth the money - the metallic feel is a little strange on the cover seems very easy to scratch when they could have went with a brushed or smooth coated look. Metal (Aluminum Alloy) scratches too easily."

"Trying to get used the Windows 8 is hard to get used too. Having a hard time finding apps: missing not sure. Other than the pc is easy to use great screen. Keys as usual with Toshiba are easy to use."
