"I have a larger computer but wanted something that I could could carry to other rooms or outside. I wanted a smaller laptop but larger than the usual notebooks and this one fit the bill. The fact that it had Windows 7 was a great selling point and also the fact that it was WiFi compatible. I have never had a Toshiba before and was a little concerned but Consumer Reports had good things to say about other models so decided to try it. I haven't been disappointed yet."

"Let me first start off by saying, I love it! I would of course rather have a disc drive but I can do without for the convenient, lightweight, ultra-portable design. I have encountered the flashy, flickering, screen online but only briefly. Love the keyboard. MIne is red. Suggested accessories: disc drive, headphones or louder speakers, and maybe a cooling pad."

"I really love my Toshiba Satellite! I shopped extensively for a small, yet not tiny, netbook with a decent keyboard. This netbook/laptop hybrid fits all of my needs as a full-time university student who writes a lot!
I love this product; however, I wish there were more accessories available, particularly a snap-on shell case/cover for protection. I have searched for one since I purchased this computer, to no avail. Other than that, and that I'd expected slightly better battery life, this is an excellent product!"

"Love the larger screen that is about three inches larger than most netbooks. Toshiba needs to lose the slick, glossy finish on the case - shows every finger print and smudge like under a magnifying glass. Have used the Netbook for several weeks and the only hiccups I have are that the video display flickers like an old time movie when on a web page that is loading or changing video clips on the page. Disconcerting is putting it mildly. Not sure what to do with the Toshiba Noteboard and its functions?"

"Laptop came directly from Toshiba in a timely manner. Worked well out of the box. Upgraded the memory which improved the performance. The laptop initially had an issue with screen flicker when viewing web pages, however, this problem was resolved with a download from Toshiba. Underneath battery compartment gets a little warm. Windows 7 works well on this unit. Like the keyboard and larger screen size compared to most Netbooks. I would definitely buy it again."

Struggling a bit with Windows 7. I LOVE the fact that in senses when I have my wireless mouse is plugged in and it defeats the pad. My only complaint is that it runs much hotter than I would like. It gets warm in my lap!"

"I did not want a netbook, I wanted a full blown computer that would fit in my purse not a briefcase. I will use it most with an external monitor and keyboard. Now that I am retired, I travel, and wanted something ultra-portable to download and edit photos. The only negative is the sound, thankfully the external monitor has speakers. I wish I could have afforded the next model up, but this is a good substitute. I thought I would buy an external DVD, but so far it everything I need is available online."

"I had an Acer 10.1 inch screen for light weight travel but it was a tad too small. This Toshiba 11.6 inch screen is perfect and still light weight. I have had other Toshiba laptops and love the quality which is why I bought this one. Windows 7 is nice but now and then it freezes up on me and I have to shut down and restart it. This could, however, be a random glich that I might have to talk to Toshiba about. Other than that this laptop is great!. I don't download much onto it because it is small but I do have Quicken 2009 on it. It is mostly for quick look-ups, and email. I am not sure how much it can actually do as I do all my big stuff on my desktop. I love that you can hit the delete and end button without using a function key. The keyboard size is also nice and I have fat fingers for a woman. I actually wanted to give an overall rating of 4 1/2 stars but they don't have half stars."

"I would recommend this unit to a freind who like myself is highly mobile. The unit is better then the limited Netbooks with Atom Processors and limited RAM 1.5 most units.
This unit come with 2gb of RAM i reccomend first thing invest the 40-60 for the additional RAM to give it 4GB.
Battery seem to last only 3 to 3.5 hours for me.
Good sized keyboard with a god mouse pad.
HDMI 3 usb 2.0 ports one will charge your device when unit is turned off. The screen is bright clear and can be read by a 40 plus person. netbook 8.9 and even the 10.2 are just a bit too small for me. and also remember that this neo processor is more powerful then the Atom processor. don't fall into the trap of looking at just clock speed on your units."

"There is little denying that this is really a netbook with AMD's Competing netbook processor to the Intel Atom this computer with its large hard drive and excellent battery life is one of the best on the market.
Pros:
-Great battery life ~5 hours
-Nice bright screen(although can show annoying reflections)
-Runs Quiet
-Good price for the performance
-Excellent grippy finish on the bottom makes it easy to carry without slipping.
-Very light and surprisingly sturdy chassis with only flexing occurring with extreme pressure.
Cons:
-Tinny nearly unusable speakers.
-Some skipping on 720p flash video(could be due to Adobe's focus on security and not performance)
-Can get quite hot, doesn't hurt the laptop but does bother my lap and wrist.
-The chrome edging and mouse button is cheap and looks it too.
-The shiny finish is ridiculously bad with fingerprints which can be hard to get rid of. (Finishing the whole laptop like the touchpad would be a major improvement keeping the looks and reducing the issue)"

"I was interested in finding a netbook to use for Web surfing, eMailing, etc, and this little Satellite caught my eye in Fry's Electronics. I normally do lots of research prior to buying gadgets but not this time. I've had a few other Toshiba products and since I liked both the look and feel of this netbook - plus it was on sale - I made a snap decision and bought one. I'm glad I did because it handles everything I want do with it with ease and style. Frankly, I love almost everything about it.
It's almost silent, small, slimline and light, I think it looks and feels classy and well made. I like the sleek and shiny carbon fiber looking finish on most surfaces, although the finish does need frequent polishing to keep it looking spiffy. The screen is also shiny, very sharp and bright, with good color and contrast. The keyboard is a decent size with a sensible layout.
The buttons are large, flat and 'clicky', which I like. The 'Delete' key is tiny, but I got used to that very quickly. The touchpad has a smooth, satin finish and is extremely sensitive, while its buttons are also nicely 'clicky'. The pad has a two finger window resolution zooming feature which is very handy for a netbook's small screen.
Hey I could go on and on, but I expect it's obvious by now that I am happy with my little Toshiba!
So ... If I had to nit pick ... The Web cam and its mic work well, but - as I expected - the built in speakers are pretty quiet and lack much bass, However you can always plug better ones in if that's an issue. Plus there are also headphone and mic sockets easily accessible on the side of the front right corner."
