"I have been using my Canvio 2 tb for 3 days and can't stop admiring the thing. It's the greatest addition to my system since Win 7. I now stream every movie I own to all my devices, phone, tablet and computers. No more carting DVD's with me. The songs and photos are at my finger tips. Documentation is poor but once I grasped an understanding it worked great. Love this thing."

"So far I have uploaded 20GB of music and 60GB of photos. I used my Android devices Galaxy S3 and Nexus 7 tablet to access Canvio. While the music listing/indexing appears to populate fairly quickly, the indexing for the images takes a very long time! For some reason, the index for the images show up as individual thumbnails sorted by date of image. This may sound practical, however, my images were already sorted in specific folders independent of date. It would be quicker if the image index would first show the folder and only once the folder open would populate the image index (thumbnails) for that folder only - instead of downloading several thousands of thumbnails of every picture on the hard drive - not efficient!! Please allow for folder listing instead of showing all images in the folder. As for the music player, it's bare bones, play and pause. It would be nice to have capability to make a playlist, etc."

"READ THE INSTRUCTIONS before you do anything else. The software is not allowing me to upload files to the device after I restored it to its default settings. Backups of the computer do not tell you what is being backed up and does not allow you to name the backup which can become confusing if you back up multiple PCs. The instructions could be clearer on what some of the functions do. It also appears that the device gets remotely pinged which defeats the option of putting the hard drive in standby mode. My big complaint is that the software did not follow the installation instructions. When I first tried to log into the device, it brought up a window that required a PIN number for access (this is the remote access window) instead of the message that it did not find the device as described in the users guide. Toshiba must not think much of this device because the users guide has a link to register the device but it is a bad link. Also the product page is there to sell the device, not to support it. No option to download the manual or the latest software. It has a Q&A area but it looks like nobody is in any hurry to answer any of the questions"
