TOSHIBA ANNOUNCES 2014 SYMBIO STREAMING MEDIA & UNIVERSAL DISC PLAYERS
AND NEW AUDIO BASE WITH POWER AND IMPACT
2014 Symbio™ Models Add Smart TV Alliance App Capability and New Audio Base Includes a Powerful Sub-Woofer

Toshiba's Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced its 2014 4K Ultra HD TV offerings. The all new L8400U, L9400U, and L9450U Series Ultra HD TVs deliver an unmatched entertainment experience for movies, TV shows, video games, photo viewing and PC applications. Now in its third generation of Ultra HD image processing, Toshiba has enhanced its proprietary CQ 4K Engine, which offers an even better picture quality than before, and has also added its first-ever Toshiba Radiance 4K Full Array LED Panels.

"Once people see Ultra HD they want Ultra HD and we have created a model for every customer. Because the driver for Ultra HD is incredible picture quality, Toshiba has invested in our own Radiance™ 4K full array LED panels and our third generation CQ 4K Engine to ensure a Wow experience every time you watch TV. In addition, for 2014 Toshiba has incorporated HDMI 2.0 for 4K at 60 fps, HDCP 2.2 to help ensure access to premium content over HDMI, and H.265 HEVC to allow streaming of 4K Ultra HD content directly to the TV. Simply put, we have created an Ultra HD experience that will exceed expectations."

Toshiba Symbio™ Media Box & Universal Disc Players
Toshiba Symbio Streaming Media & Universal Disc Players are a Blu-ray Disc™ player, DVD player, CD player and streaming media box all in one. The new ePortal utilizes a one-page version of the new Smart TV with Cloud Portal GUI, which equates to elegant design simplicity and advanced control. For 2014, Smart TV Alliance App capability has also been added to ensure ongoing App library expansion.
The BDX5500 incorporates the UDE™ 4K Upscaling Engine and is Technicolor 4K Certified. UDE Ultra Detail Enhancement provides two-stage picture quality enhancement. Stage one provides superior 1080P video with both edge and texture enhancement so it improves picture quality for any Full HD or 4K TV. Stage two adds high quality 4K Upscaling for use with Ultra HD TVs. The BDX5500 also supports 3D playback, has touch controls and is slot loading so it can be placed vertically.
The BDX3500 offers full Symbio streaming media and universal disc player content capability in 2D with built-in Wi-Fi and Miracast for peer-to-peer wireless capability
Both new Symbio models come in a new, compact, square media box design and are shipping in late Q1.
Audio for Video Products
Toshiba's all-new ABX3250 Audio Base acts as a perfect audio complement for 32-, 40- and 50-inch TVs placed on a table. This 300-watt system includes a powerful wireless sub-woofer, Bluetooth© wireless audio, HDMI© switching and DTS Studio Sound™ for a more impactful home theater experience in a modern space saving table-top design.
Toshiba also offers the equally powerful and full featured SBX4250 and SBX5065 Sound Bars. Both models produce 300 watts, include a wireless sub-woofer, Bluetooth wireless audio, HDMI switching and SRS Surround. The SBX5065 Sound Strip features NFC for one-touch Bluetooth connection and a wider design with gun metallic strip targeting 50- to 65-inch TVs. The SBX4250 Sound Bar is all black and targets 40-to 50-inch TVs.
Toshiba's new Audio Base is scheduled to begin shipping in Q2 2014.
