Toshiba’s Canvio Connect Back To School Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) begins at 9:00:00 AM Pacific Time (“PT”) on September 9, 2013 and ends at 5:00:00 PM PT on September 13, 2013 (“Sweepstakes Period”).

ELIGIBILITY: Open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are aged 18 or older at the time of entry. Employees, officers and directors of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. (“Sponsor”), Trailer Park, Inc., (“Production Vendor”), and each of their respective parent, affiliate, and subsidiary companies, sales representatives, advertising, promotion and judging agencies (collectively, “Sponsor-Related Entities”), and immediate family members of (e.g., children, spouse, siblings, parents, grandparents and the “steps” of each of the aforementioned) and anyone residing in the same household as any ineligible person, are not eligible. The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. Sweepstakes void where prohibited by law, rule or regulation.

HOW TO ENTER: To enter the Sweepstakes, go to https://survey.opinionlab.com/survey/s?s=10630 and complete and submit the Official Entry form as directed (“Entry”). All Entries must be received by the Entry Period deadline as stated herein.

Entry Period:

Entries must be received between 9:00:00 AM PT on 9/9/13 and 5:00:00 PM PT on 9/13/13.

Entrants will be invited to engage with posts on our social channels. Following, Liking, Commenting, Sharing and Tweeting are optional and will not have any bearing for being selected as a Prize Winner. Following, Liking, Commenting, Sharing and Tweeting will not improve your chances of winning. Limit one (1) Entry per email account per day. Sponsor and Sponsor-Related Entities are not responsible for any problems or technical, hardware, or software malfunctions of any telephone network or telephone lines, failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic communications whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Sweepstakes, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or Entry to be received by the Sponsor due to technical problems, human error or traffic congestion, unavailable network connections on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including, without limitation, any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participating in this Sweepstakes or downloading any materials in this Sweepstakes. Entries become Sponsor’s property and will not be acknowledged or returned. Sponsors, Production Vendor and the Sponsors-Related Entities are not responsible for lost, late, invalid, altered, damaged, misdirected, illegible or incomplete Entries, all of which will be void. Use of automated entry or similar devices, including multiple e-mail accounts, to participate or subvert the entry process or entry limits is prohibited and all Entries through such devices are void. Any entrant who attempts to participate with multiple e-mail addresses or under multiple identities or uses any BOT, robotic, script, macro or other device or artifice to enter more than the stated limit or to interfere with the proper operation of this Sweepstakes, will be disqualified. Entries must include a valid e-mail address for the entrant. In the event of a dispute as to who submitted an Entry, the person demonstrating to Sponsor’s satisfaction, as determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion, that he or she is the authorized holder of the e-mail account will be deemed to be the entrant. The “authorized holder of the e-mail account” is the natural person assigned by an Internet access provider, online service provider, Internet service provider or other similar organization to the e-mail address used to enter. Sponsor, the Production Vendor and the Sponsor-Related Entities and any and all other companies associated with the Sweepstakes and all of their respective officers, directors, agents, employees, legal advisors, representatives and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) are not responsible for any problems or technical, hardware, or software malfunctions of any telephone network or telephone lines, failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic communications whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Sweepstakes, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or Entry to be received by the Sponsors due to technical problems, human error or traffic congestion, unavailable network connections on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including, without limitation, any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participating in this Sweepstakes or downloading any materials in this Sweepstakes. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook or Twitter. By submitting an Entry, you understand that you are submitting your information to the Sponsor and not to Facebook or Twitter. If you post updates to or receive updates from Facebook.com via SMS from your wireless phone, your wireless-service provider may charge for each text message sent and received. Please consult your wireless-service provider regarding its pricing plans. By submitting an Entry, entrant agrees to abide by the terms of these Official Rules, Sponsor’s Privacy Policy and all Facebook.com and Twitter.com Terms and Conditions and Statement of Rights and Responsibilities available at Facebook.com, Twitter.com and Toshiba’s Privacy Policy. The Entry information you provide will only be used for addition to the Sponsor’s e-mail database and only be used to respond to your requests; to contact you regarding your Entry; to invite and help you participate in a range of online and offline events, activities and/or clubs; to allow you to post information and other content online; to improve our products, services and websites; to follow up with you after you have communicated with us or submitted information to us; to send promotional communications or offers (unless you have requested that we not send such communications); for marketing, research and legal purposes and other purposes; to permit you to participate in and to otherwise administer Sweepstakes, and to address your interests and concerns.

If you post a comment, it must not be obscene or indecent and the use of the comment by Sponsor as outlined herein must not infringe upon any right of any third party including, without limitation, any Third Party Intellectual Property rights of any third party. Comments that include profanity, nudity, inappropriate or explicit language or demonstrate any lewd, materially dangerous activity or any unsafe behavior will be removed. Comments that contain material which is sexually explicit, obscene, pornographic, violent (e.g. relating to murder, the sale of weapons, cruelty, abuse, etc.), discriminatory (based on race, sex, religion, natural origin, physical disability, sexual orientation or age), illegal (e.g. underage consumption of alcoholic beverages, substance abuse, computer hacking, etc.) offensive (e.g., endorse any form of hate or hate group), threatening, profane, or harassing, each as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion will be removed.

Any comment submitted with any Third Party Intellectual Property will be disqualified if such use is deemed impermissible or illegal, as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. By submitting a comment, each Entrant: 1) warrants and represents that the comment is 100% the original creation/work by the Entrant and that use of the comment as described herein will not violate any law or infringe upon the rights, title, claim or interest of any third party other than the products contained in the comment; 2) certifies that entrant is the creator and sole copyright owner of the comment; 3) irrevocably grants Sponsor the royalty-free rights throughout the world to use, re-use, copy, publish, republish in whole or in part, edit, add to, modify, and rearrange the comment in whatever media, including without limitation edit, rearrange, and/or copy the comment for use in the promotion of Sponsor’s products and services without further permission, consideration or payment to the entrant, except where prohibited; 4) agrees that the comment is gratuitous and made without restriction, and will not place the Sponsor under any obligation, that the Sponsor is free to disclose or otherwise disclose the ideas contained in the comment on a non-confidential basis to anyone or otherwise use the ideas without any additional compensation, except where prohibited, to the entrant; 5) acknowledges that, by acceptance of the comment, the Sponsor does not waive any rights to use similar or related ideas previously known to Sponsor, or developed by its employee, or obtain from sources other than entrant.

RANDOM DRAWING: Winners will each be randomly selected from among all eligible Entries received in Entry Period for a total of (5) Prize Winners.

A total of five (5) Prize Winners will be selected from among the Random Drawings. One drawing for four (4) Canvio Connect winners. And one (1) drawing for the Grand Prize winner. Odds of winning a prize will depend upon the number of eligible Entries received in the Entry Period. Prize Winners will be notified at the e-mail account submitted at the time of Entry, at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Limit one (1) Prize per household.

FIVE (5) PRIZES TOTAL: Four prizes consist of one (1) Canvio Connect Hard Drive. Approximate Total Retail Value of hard drive ("ARV"): $99.00 USD. One (1) Grand Prize consists of one (1) Canvio Connect Hard Drive and one (1) Satellite® L-Series Laptop. Approximate Total Retail Value of laptop ("ARV"): $679.99. Total ARV of all prizes: $778.99. Winners are solely responsible for any and all expenses and incidental travel costs associated with the acceptance and use of the prize not expressly stated in these Official Rules. No transfer, substitution or cash equivalent of any prize permitted by any prize winner. Sponsor may substitute a prize with one of equal or greater retail value if the advertised prize is unavailable or cannot be awarded for any reason. The ARV of the prize set forth above represents Sponsor’s good faith determination of the ARV thereof and the actual fair market value, as ultimately determined by Sponsor, cannot be challenged or appealed by the prize winner. In the event the stated ARV of the prize is more than the actual fair market value of the prize, the difference will not be awarded in cash. Sponsor has made no warranty or guarantee in whole or in part, express or implied, in fact or in law, in relation to the use of any prize including, but not limited to, its quality, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or suitability for use and, further, accepts no responsibility for any additional expenses, omissions, delays, re-routing or acts of any government or authority. If a prize is unclaimed, it will not be awarded.

PRIZE ACCEPTANCE: All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of each prize winner. Each Prize Winner, by acceptance of prize, grants permission to Sponsor, the Production Vendor, the Sponsor-Related Entities and the Released Parties and each of their respective designees to use his/her Entry, name, statements, hometown and/or likeness/photograph for promotional, advertising and/or publicity purposes in any media, known or hereafter invented throughout the world in perpetuity, without further notice or compensation, except where prohibited by law. Sponsor will attempt to notify Potential Winner at the email address submitted at the time of entry. If a Potential Prize Winner does not respond within forty-eight (48) hours of such notification attempt, if he/she is found to be ineligible, if he/she cannot or does not comply with these Official Rules, or if his/her prize or prize notification or any prize correspondence is returned as undeliverable, that Prize Winner may be disqualified and the Prize may be awarded to an alternate winner in a random drawing from among all remaining eligible entries.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION: By participating in the Sweepstakes and/or submitting an Entry, each entrant and winner agree to release the Sponsors, the Production Vendor and the Sponsor-Related Entities from any and all liability, injury, loss or damage of any kind (including death) that may occur, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, arising out of or in connection with their participation in this Sweepstakes or with respect to awarding, receipt, possession, use and/or misuse of any prize or any travel or activity related to the receipt or use of any Prize or for any claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy. Sponsor, the Production Vendor and the Sponsor-Related Entities are not responsible for any printing, typographical, mechanical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Sweepstakes or in the announcement of any prize. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. Sponsor, the Production Vendor and Sponsor-Related Entities are not responsible for electronic transmission errors resulting in omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of Entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions or limitations of any kind, or inaccurate transmissions of or failure to receive Entry information by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion via mobile phone. If for any reason, this Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes (or any portion thereof), Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes (or any portion thereof). In the event of cancellation, Sponsor reserves the right to select the winner from among all non-suspect, eligible Entries received as of the termination date. Sponsor reserve the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the Entry process. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or of any other provision of these Official Rules. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. If any provision of the Official Rules is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, then the Official Rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained therein. By entering the Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees that: (i) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Sweepstakes, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; (ii) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out of pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Sweepstakes, but in no event will attorneys’ fees be awarded or recoverable; and (iii) under no circumstances will any entrant be permitted to obtain any award for, and each entrant hereby knowingly and expressly waives all rights to seek, punitive, incidental or consequential damages and/or any other damages, other than actual out of pocket expenses, and/or any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. By participating in the Sweepstakes and submitting an Entry, each entrant agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Sponsor, the Production Vendor and Sponsor-Related Entities from and against any and all claims, demands, liability, damages or causes of action (however named or described) losses, costs or expenses, with respect to or arising out of or related to: (i) entrant’s participation in the Sweepstakes, and (ii) entrant's acceptance, use or misuse of a prize or any travel or activity related to the receipt or use of any prize (including, without limitation, any property loss, damage, personal injury or death caused to any person(s)). Winners assume all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this Sweepstakes and/or use or redemption of any prize. In the event the integrity and/or feasibility of the Sweepstakes is undermined by any event including but not limited to fire, flood, epidemic, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute, or strike, act of God or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, war (declared or undeclared), terrorist threat or activity, or any federal, state, provincial or local government law, order of regulation, order of any court or jurisdiction, or other cause not reasonably within the Sponsor’s control (each a “Force Majeure” event), the Sponsor shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to abbreviate, modify, suspend, cancel or terminate the Sweepstakes without notice or further obligation. If the Sponsor, in its discretion, elects to abbreviate, cancel or terminate the Sweepstakes as a result of a Force Majeure event, the Sponsor reserves the right, but shall have no obligation, to award the prizes from among all non-suspect, eligible Entries received up to the time of such Force Majeure event.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

USE OF DATA: Sponsor will be collecting personal data about entrants online, in accordance with its privacy policy. Please review Sponsor’s Privacy Policy located at http://us.dynabook.com/contentpopup/about/privacy-policy. By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants hereby agree to Sponsor’s collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted Sponsor’s Privacy Policy.

DISPUTES: Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with this Sweepstakes or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the United States District Court for the Central District of California or the appropriate California State Court located in Orange County, California; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Sweepstakes, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (3) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of California, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of California or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of California. Some jurisdictions do not allow for limitations of certain remedies or damages and so this provision may not apply to you.
