"I would not recommend this unit to anyone, mine works, but not the way it is suppose to. I have to unplug it after each use as it constantly turns off and on by itself. The HDMI port died months after I purchased."

"this blu-ray player is junk if you have a network that has even the smallest weakness it will find it. As a streaming device its awful it freezes if the program runs into trouble and you must unplug the box to fee it from its funk and maybe it will work again. The DVD/Blu-Ray function is OK i guess but at times it can be slow but no freezes on that part. My suggestion find a different player if disks are what you primarily what you use. If your looking for streaming ability use a stand alone media player (eg. ROKU). Skip this one folks!!!!!!!!!"

"It will freeze up sometimes, looses signal to tv, big delay between button pushes, have to unplug to unfreeze and start over. I expected better out of a Toshiba product. It take too much time and attention. I wouldnt buy it again."

"The most basic thing it should do it to power on, it won't even do that so it is totally useless. I bought the BDX2500 last year, the first few months I can unplug the power cord and restart the machine but now that won't do the trick. I have 15 years old DVD player that still work yet this Blu-ray player play perhaps total 20 times and now it totally dead."

"picture quality is awesome for the Blu-ray, Streaming is ok, lots of lost fidelity and video dynamics. Loda time for anything is very slow once you can finally get the unit to turn on. I am glad that Toshiba is not defined by this machine, cause if that were the case all products would be junk. This unit is glitchy , slow, and plain out a pain in the butt to use. I would not recommend this unit for anyone at any price level it is offered at."

"I won this at a Christmas party and I couldnt even use it. I too have to unplug it and plug it back in to turn on or off. DO NOT BUY! I cant believe its even on the market. What a gift???? U YUCK"

"Like most other reviews, this dvd player gets stuck and and you have to hold the power botton for a long time to response. It has been very frustrating. I bought since I have a 52" toshiba regza and wanted to keep them all the same brand. Very dissapointed with the bdx2500. Should have goe with the samsung."
