"Toshiba is junk. I owned this bluray for under a year, actually less then 6 months. Refuses to connect to internet. Used to until the last update. Takes forever for remote to do it's job. Router set to automatical acquire. Shows it's connected but refuses to find I.P. tried everything. Not happy at all and a huge waste of money."

"After using the bdx2700 for a month or two it won't turn on without the remote. The blue light just blinks. Even when I use the remote it still takes about 10 tries to get it to turn on. Do yourself a favor and buy something else!"

DO NOT BUY

"WORKS FINE, UNTIL YOU DO UPDATES... THEN IT STOPS WORKING. WON'T TURN ON, POWER ON LIGHT NEVER TURNS OFF... REMOTE DOESN'T WORK 1/2 THE TIME."

Underestimated.

"I buy alot of DVD/Blu-Ray to review and simply it is also my hobby. While one can not compare this unit to a unit costing 1K, it sure does not mean the picture itself can not be as good. I found a HIDDEN suprise thatreally pleased me and made an average picture, Awesome. While a BR or DVD is playing. One can press a button called PIC. This allows picture adjusting. It's an Enhanced Picture Mode, and the results were STUNNING. Also available here is an option for sharpness. My picture went from ordinary to equal to high end , high dollar players, and better than many. Sound issues, I had none, and out of the box, the player was easy to use, Wifi and all. In the overloaded selectionss we have, I look for differences and things that make a player interesting for the average user, and even a videophile take notice. To date I have found no disks that would not work. So I find it hard to belive that so many say this. With ANY player certain disks require firmware updates. That is nature of Blu-Ray it truly is still in development. To sum up this is a real Bang for the Buck player. I am highly considering a couple of these for guest rooms, since I have friends who live afar, and sometimes stay, and feel this unit would be easy for even the most naive amature to use. Dont forget the PIC button, it will suprise U! Note to Toshiba , why do U not advertise this feature???"

"initally worked beutifully till it needed online updates then it stopped working .All I wanted was a blu ray player that would play blu ray discs.its been a headache to try and figure it out."

"This Blu-ray play will play you movies when it wants to. It freezes every other movie and when i say freezes i mean total lock up have to unplug to restore just for it to freeze again. no to mention that you also have to unplug and plug back in to turn it on every time. it loses internet connection frequently and most of the remote commands say prohibited when trying to use them. I got this as a gift and feel that i even over paid. i can only imagine how the people that gave it to me feel when we sat down to watch a movie and if froze every 30 minutes or so. Do not buy a Toshiba not worth the money unless they are professional enough to solve this issue and make it right with the customers who put faith in their products!"
